For a few dollars more, you can purchase a a6000 that at least has a hot shoe allowing you to connect to a Sony microphone. I like the display screen which is made like the Sony a6400’s. If you have a little more money, I would considering upgrading.

If you are interested by video more recent models do not have the 30min recording limit and the heat dissipation performance has been improved as well, picture profiles are also available giving you access to S-Log which will provide you more flexibility for post production.

Even night shots are sharp without using a tripod but steady yourself. This advanced Sony Alpha a5100 mirrorless camera has more features than I'll ever use. Note, not all control functions are utilized via touch on the touchscreen LCD.

If it is a bright sunny day, you can't see a thing because of the glare. Also shutter is very sensitive and would should off 5 pics when trying to focus. Use you iPhone and you will probably have better luck!

You cannot see the LCD screen to see what you are taking a picture of. Sony has no solution for this problem even though they are aware of it. It is difficult to find a site that will even take this camera as a trade in.

Negative aspects to this camera are that it is a bit higher priced than some of the other cameras out there. It doesn't take really close photos from far away and it doesn't do very well on shots that are taken when one is in motion. They get a bit blurred. Overall, though this is a pretty good camera. The shots are very nice and for the most part very impressive.
