This is only my second digital camera to purchase and it's been taking amazing photos on auto mode outside the box. There are options to control tons of settings manually, which I have had a hard time learning because it seems to be a little complicated for a newbie like myself. My ONLY criticism is that many of the shots have a yellow tone, I understand that if you know what you are doing, this can be corrected, but I don't. So often I have to settle for a yellow tinted pic. Overall this camera is phenomenal and I have taking some KILLER pics, I have plans to upgrade to a higher end sony camera this summer like the A7R or A7RII.

Should have waited an gotten what I wanted. A later version or higher quality point and shoot.

Looked for an easy to use camera with great features for my daughter to use for her daughters soccer games, but till soccer starts again after holidays she has really enjoyed using it for all her activities. And she really luvs. all the features.

This has to be the most advanced & powerful camera available in the compact / point-n-shoot category. It is very easy to use as the control menu is intuitive, and after only a day of playing around its full potential seems remarkable. Although I know the old school, manual ways, I think this camera's biggest asset is the Ai and Ai+; compared to my FZ-35 this new Sony seems like Watson! I am totally ready to let it do all the work. The Wi-Fi is great for viewing on a big screen in HD. Unlike many who think more seriously, I have hardly ever used view-finders on previous digital cameras,(many have been awful anyway, especially with zoom,) and that is a complaint that has been common with this new model. My only disappointment is that the million-dot, super clear LCD does not have ANY anti-reflection/anti-glare properties...; - ( It can be like looking into a mirror in the bright outdoors.) I have already ordered some protective anti-glare screen covers from Amazon to see if that helps? I can settle for less clarity and detail in exchange for reduced glare.

Bought this camera for a start of a YouTube channel. Love this picture and camera quality. Great that you can see yourself to make sure your in frame at all times.

After researching cameras with flippable displays I came to the conclusion that this was the best overall for the money/features. It was important for her pictures that she be able to see the types of "selfies" she would be able to take. The quality of the pictures are awesome! The camera itself is well built and with wifi there's nothing we've found to complain about.

I purchased this camera based on reviews and compared it to SONY A6000. I sold my Canon DSLR because it wasn't too user friendly and bought this SONY A5100 instead and loved that it was so self-explanatory. Granted there are some things I do need to read the brochure to learn about, I love that it's easy to navigate through all the features. The front facing camera and the Wi-Fi features are a bonus. This camera is a keeper for sure.

I got this for my daughter but it did not come with the AC adapter. We did not open the package when first received.....so I'm very upset. I should get all items in this box. It does everything my daughter needs but I need the adapter.

I have a DSLR and if you own one you know how bulky and heavy it is. I wanted something that was more convenient to carry but still take great pictures. I fell in love with this camera and had to have it. I just wish I got it when it was on sale which was during the holidays. Still learning some features but the quality of pictures are great and I love the wireless transfer feature!

I love Sony Mirrorless Cameras. I own a Sony Nex 5T. I LOVE it, but I wanted an upgrade so I bought the a5100. The picture quality of the a5100 is great. Images are sharp and beautiful. Photo quality/ease of use this camera gets a 5, but the video quality is a 1. Why is it a 1? Because it overheats in 5 minutes. So I took the average of the two and this camera gets a 3. I know some people will say just get a camcorder. I don't want a camcorder. I want a mirrorless camera that can take at least 20-25 minutes of continuous video without shutting down. The camera averages around $500, that's not asking for too much. Review for Best Buy customer service: 0 Stars Best Buy has the worst customer service. I returned this camera to the store because of the overheating issue. I never received a refund. I had to open a dispute with my bank. Also I purchased a different item, an oven. Best Buy took the money from my account and then tells me it's out of stock only after I called to confirm my delivery appointment. Something is seriously wrong here. Best Buy needs to get it together.

Ok camera for beginners, if you can afford to pay more money, get the Sony a6100 with view finder. The LCD screens are difficult to see your subject in bright daylight.

Picture quality is beautiful It took us a little bit of trial and error to figure out the settings fully. The one thing I will say is hit or miss is connecting/syncing wirelessly.
