I wanted an upgrade to a point and shoot and this was a great upgrade in quality and still at an affordable price. It has a good feel to it while still being compact. The wifi feature makes it convenient to transfer pictures to my phone. The one thing I miss is a viewfinder. Sometimes outside, the glare makes it hard to see the screen.

This camera takes some of the most stunning and crisp photos, yet is nice and compact. It is also very user friendly and simple to use for people just getting started in photography!

This is my 1st DSLR type camera. There is a lot to learn but what pictures. They are beautiful. The camera even takes portraits of the current picture you are taking. So you end up with a full picture then a portrait of the main focus. Very cool. Still have lots to learn but love the compactness of the camera.

This camera is great! It is really easy to use and takes great photos. Others have said they have had over heating issues, but I haven’t. Definitely a great purchase!

I actually love the quality of the Sony - Alpha a5100 - The only reason why I exchanged it was because I was looking for the external mic jack...I knew ahead of time though I wanted to try it. I would have kept it if the internal mic was good enough for what I do. And I would have moved to the a6000 but the tilt screen did not flip completely up nor did the a6300. I really love the a5100 and if you don't care about external mic jack, this is a real beautiful camera and produces excellent photos and videos. Some have said it gets hot, with long filming, but mine at the time I have not experienced that, but you will need to purchase extra batteries as it does drain pretty quickly.

As a first time alpha camera user, I was very impressed with how fast the camera takes pictures. Took this camera to our California vacation and was impressed of how great the pictures came out without the use of flash option. Would recommend to anyone if upgrading from point and shoot camera.

I am no camera expert, far from it. This camera is easy to use. I bought it with the standard lens and a lens that is particularly useful for photographing documents. I get great pictures with little effort. For documents I try to use it on a tripod and the photos are consistently in perfect focus and I frequently find I have to move fast because I have limited time in an archive. The pictures of my dog and friends are equally good. Glad I took my friend’s advice and bought this camera.

I have owned many cameras ranging from point-and-shoot to DSLR. This is by far one of my favorite one that I have owned. Yes, shooting long videos that are over 10 minutes will over heat the item, but I have shot films in over 100+ degrees without shutting down on me yet. Photos are amazing and the included lens is great for both beginners and pros. Plus, you get amazing depth of field. Those that do YouTube vids, the camera will catch close ups and you without a hitch. An amazing camera for sure.

Has great quality of a dlsr camera and it's small and easy to carry around.

This camera is a very essential piece of material if you're beginning to vlog. It's camera has great megapixels and the screen can flip to the front easier to see yourself.

I'm able to carry it around every day and not feel like I'm carrying a brick! Fantastic for vlogging and recording videos with the flip up screen; love that the lenses are interchangeable; easy picture taking and changing shooting mode.

Great quality camera for beginners with user friendly settings. My favorite feature is the selfie retractable screen which is amazing for vloggers.

Love this camera! Just got back from New England area taking breathtaking photos of the changing of the leaves. I have tried several digital camera since they have been on the market. It comes close to my Cannon A-E1 photos and that is saying a lot!

Great camera that is easy to use and very compact. I use it mostly for hiking and vacations and it is very small and easy to carry around. Takes fantastic photos!

This camera might not have all the bells and whistles like some of the other more expensive cameras but if you are looking for simplicity but with a nice picture this is the camera for you

This camera offers you a powerfull sensor and high quality photography. This camera is quite comapct which I think consider as both advantage and disadvantage. This camwra could be quite small and might not sit comfortably in your hand though its very lightweight. - this camera does not have viewfinder which might be an issue on a Sunny Day - this camera does not offer fast access to functiona and you have to go through menu to e.g. a manuel focus option
