Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Alpha a6000's camera quality, ease of use, and compact size, frequently praising its lightweight design. Many also appreciate the camera's features and find it offers good value for the price. However, some users note that the battery life could be improved, and low-light performance and autofocus could be more reliable. The telephoto lens's autofocus functionality has also received some criticism.

Good camera for photographers. I returned mines because I am not a photographer. They have too many functions and I was very complicated to use.

Hi MsTracy, Sorry to hear that you had to return the camera. As complicated as it may seem, the camera has Auto settings that works like a normal point and shoot. The camera will be the one to adjust the necessary settings for you. Best regads, Zander sony_US

This camera is great for content creators on the go but still lacks the lens ecosystem of Canon and Nikon.

It’s overpriced and lens kit is weak for this price. Should have gone with Cannon. Salesperson pushes Sony.

I bought this camera for my wife for Xmas and we brought it on our honeymoon in Africa. The view finder never worked properly. Really blurry and when taking a picture you have to guess at what you are shooting at. I'm returning it the minute I get back.

I really am not a fan, return it pretty much as soon as I could. Picture quality was not great no matter the light, I cringed at the restocking fee but better then having a bad camera. The person behind the counter even stated these get returned all the time. I have had these years ago and loved them, quality has really changed in 10 years.

While reviewing the pics which we have taken it is always showing format memory card and the system is very slow. And for night time photography I won't suggest this camera. Day time it is good.

I have always used canon DLSR cameras for my photography but wanted to give this mirrorless camera a shot. The quality is nothing like the pictures they display in the store. I have been highly disappointed with it and will continue to use my canon.

Great camera, great price, solid size in 2022!!

Great camera for a great price! Very solid for any enthusiast or professional. It is a really good camera. It does have very few shortcomings and give tough competition to any camera in it's class even in 2022. I use this for sports photography, portraits, and street photography. For all of these scenarios, it works really well. Especially if you know what you're doing and you tinker a little in the settings too. PROS: Fast autofocus 11fps burst shooting, isn't the most fastest, but it doesn't feel slow not even a bit, incredibly good burst shooting Easy settings menu Hidden eye auto focus option, very handy for portraits 179+25 autofocus points Image quality is fantastic shoots both RAW and jpeg CONS: EVF is very sensitive, and sometimes lag on startup Low light performance isn't that great, but somewhat acceptable The time it takes to write images to sd card after a couple shots continuously is a pain sometimes, especially when you want to look at the shots you took a second ago. Battery life is bad, no sugar coating that. But if you can get batteries, which you can get a 5-pack on amazon, you'll be completely fine.

    Great Buy

You make it what you want! It can be a very nice point and shoot very easy to use or, if you know a lot about photography, a very sophisticated and flexible camera. The lens kit is not top notch, but it is very convenient and a good deal. If you want better, you will have to spend hundreds more for prime lenses. For most users, this kit is good enough. Buy a spare battery and a wall charger: charging the battery through your computer is a sad joke.

Very disappointed in this camera. Not user friendly for beginners and I ended up messing up a very important photo of my family at a get together that happens like once every 5 years because we all live so far from each other. Also, I can’t even upload the pictures onto my computer or phone because it makes you download this PlayMemories app that doesn’t work and makes you get a Sony account and then freezes out on you. So frustrated.

Hello lnngld3, sorry to hear about the experience you had with your a6000. The PlayMemories app has been replaced by Imaging Edge Mobile that will allow you to transfer your pictures to your mobile phone. The transfer to your computer will not require any application, either connect the SD card to your computer or connect your camera after setting the USB to Mass Storage (Menu > Setup > USB Connection > Mass Storage).
If settings are an issue, set the camera to "Auto" that should provide you with a more straightforward experience. In case of technical issue, feel free to contact our customer support. Sony_US

I purchased so my old Sony SLR lenses would work with a digital camera. I miss the well-made products from 20-30 years ago. Would not purchase again.
