Who needs cropped sensor Sony DSLRs?!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This thing does everything cropped sensor (APS-C) DLSRs do-- and more. Coming from a Sony A65vk, this A6000 takes the same image quality that you will get from DLSRs. In fact, this can do more. I love the NFC feature-- I tap my phone on the side and I can post a shot to facebook. It is light-- and with an adapter, you can use your A mount lenses. The kit lens are okay. If you came from a point-and-shoot camera, the lens that came with this should blow you away. But if you want to start making the most out of this camera and start doing creative shots, get good lenses. You will be surprised you can take same technical quality photos as some photographers.

This camera is not the right camera for my needs. I told the salesman that I needed a different wide angle lens bit he assured me the one that came on it was what I really wanted. I just from a trip from Europe and the pictures were no better that if I had used my smart phone. Once again I was led to and ended up with another useless product from Best Buy. I would never go there again if there was an alternative in town. another $700 going to charity going to the local high school. I am such a sucker-I believepeople.

Fantastic camera, very very fast, the autofocus is great since it covers so much of the screen. The body of the camera is very solid and well made. The a6000 takes excellent pictures and the LCD and eye piece both offer a great view. I also have an A65 which has a higher resolution eye piece but I honestly can't tell the difference even when swapping between both of them. I love that the size is much more compact while offering so many features.

I bought this camera when it was a fairly new product. It is a great camera, while it lasts. After less than a year the kit lens stopped working. This is a common problem. Google it. Now after 1.5 years the camera body is going bad. The buttons on the back stopped working. This is also a common problem. Sony is not doing to help correct their faulty equipment. I have been a long fan of Sony products, but they have lost a customer.

    Overall Best value for $800

The camera is very compact and fits a lot more into it than most other cameras of this size or even sometimes larger. This camera has equal picture quality of a body two times the size and still can crank out twice the speed (in frames per second) than most other cameras. The ease of use is marked at *good* because the layout can be confusing to new users, but if you know more about DSLR's you will have no issue. The extra applications you would want to use with this camera are available on the app store, but you have to pay for them. It would be nice for Sony to include these with the camera. Overall the picture quality is amazing and getting any type of picture is very simple for such a camera. My father has used it on several occasions sometimes getting better pictures than he had expected.

    OMG!!

Pros: - Excellent quality pictures - Great scene mode with portrait shots done beautifully against blurred background - Small and light, which works well for me doing street shots or any type of traveling - The flash doesn’t come up in auto mode at night, unlike other cameras I’ve used, and night shots are beautifully captured with little to no noise, without the flash Cons: Battery drains quicker than I’m used to when I had my dslr camera Overall: Obviously, I highly favor this camera. For an entry-level mirrorless camera, I’ve gotten crispier captures thanks to the 179AF. Beautiful night shots taken with no flash and great focus throughout the image. Definitely worth your buck. I never write reviews but the reviews on this camera got me to buy it. I suggest you do the same if you’re reading this and just want an easy going, entry level camera. Trust me, I went through about 3 entry level cameras (all under $700 or less each) and this one, by far, is the best I’ve had.

My wife & I love this camera. We bought it just before a family vacation & took over 1000 pictures! We especially love the rapid picture feature. I often used the slow setting to take sequence pictures of our kids. My favorite was series with the kids trying to stay dry while chasing the waves. They'd run on the beach toward the water as the waves receded then run away from the incoming wave as they came in. Great fun & great pictures to capture the memories!

    Awesome camera

Picked up this camera after being frustrated either by lousy cell phone pics or the bother of lugging around my DSLR. Absolutely loving it. Well built but light and compact. Very full featured. I can dig into the settings and do all my photo geek stuff, my wife can set it on auto and it becomes a great point and shoot. Amazing autofocus allows for instant shutter release with crisp, in focus shots time after time. In the past I've not been a fan of Sony cameras as Canon and Nikon have always trumped them for image quality (which is the point of a camera in the end IMO), but this time they're rock'n it. Best value in a camera I've ever bought. Only problem is the 12 page leaflet they call a manual. You have to play and figure it out.

I went in to best buy to get a camera that travels well for an upcoming vacation. I walked out with this camera. It takes fabulous pictures and is easy to work with. I have so much fun playing with the settings to see what it can do. It wasn't that expensive because I got it open boxed and I'm so glad I made the choice!

    Replaced dSLR

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

As I'm backing out of the professional side of the industry I was looking for a light weight easier to carry system then my dSLRs. However I didn't want to compromise quality. This camera has lived up to the hype and exceeded my expectations. The only disappointments I have is the EVF (which I knew I wouldn't like has much as a mirror system) and I far favor my Nikkor glass over the Sony lenses, and unfortunately the Nikon adapters loose AF and aperture control

I was trying to get camera that would allow me to take good picture. This camera took picture that were marginally better then the pictures I took with my $300 ultra compact sony that I bought a few years ago. For the money I was expecting a lot more. I went a dslr and did not regret it all all.
