Great Beginning Camera!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this camera! It was so great to have a camera that teaches you how to use it! Sony does a great job of mixing high quality with usability for the beginner.

What a great camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're in the market for a mirrorless camera, this is the one. It's just the best. Totally affordable without sacrificing anything in photo quality. Purchase. You will not regret it.

Great camera!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven't had too much time we with it but it seems to be a great performing little camera. Small and easy to grab and go (unlike my canon 60d) and takes great quality pictures and video. The only con is the blurriness of dim-lit photos, but maybe I just haven't played with the settings enough.

Poor Sony Support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased my A6000 with kit lens in August 2014. This was going to be my back up camera for when I didn't want to carry my Nikon DSLR. The camera suddenly stopped working while using it saying "Camera cannot recognize lens." I did an internet search for this issue to find out it's quite common and Sony even has a lens firmware update for this issue. After installing the update the problem still existed. I contacted Sony Support being within the 1 year warranty and was instructed to send my entire camera to Precision Camera. After sending it in I was then informed by Precision Camera that my warranty was voided due to external damage. I asked for picture of the external damage knowing the camera was in great working shape beside the lens issue and was emailed a picture of the USB charging port with a pointer towards the charging port and it said "External Force Damage." I then asked for a quote to repair the external force damage they indicated and lens, but was told I only need to pay to replace the kit lens, the charging port worked fine. At this point I contacted Sony to protest the voided warranty because if the charging port works fine and according to Precision Camera doesn't actually need fixed why would my warranty be voided? Precision Camera received my camera on January 29th, it's now March 13th and I'm still waiting for Sony to make this right with no end in sight. After hours spent on the phone with Sony no one has specifically looked into the issue or offered to help explain the reason of the voided warranty. Precision camera still has my broken camera. I cannot believe a company as big as Sony is running me around like this. I made the mistake of buying a Sony camera and now know that I will never buy a Sony product again. Very disappointed.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very pleased with this camera. Learning new functions daily
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent camera! Took it on a recent backpacking trip through Canada and was able to use it without reading the manual. I'm still learning some of the functions being my first mirrorless camera but still got some great shots without ever using a Sony camera. I paired this camera with the Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 and was able to take some amazing Milky Way shots. Small and lightweight so great for backpacking.

Nice camera killer deal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Takes great pictures. Easy to transport than dslr. Look for an open box, probably the best deal going on any camera if you can find one under $400. Picture quality and ease of use are unbeatable at the price. At the original price it was tough to justify vs rebel sl1 in terms of size vs quality.

Best Camera I've ever had
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it came between a DLSR and a Mirrorless Camera I chose the Mirrorless because of it's size and not all of it's features. After about two weeks with it's the best camera I've ever had. The autofocus is really fast and it's super compact and light compared to your standard DLSR. The shooting modes are great for a beginner stepping up from a point and shoot and doesn't take up too much room in my bag. At first I was intimidated by all the features but now I don't know how I would live without them. Maybe should have considered the 5100 but I really wanted the viewfinder. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

This is an awesome camera!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started out with a 35mm Minolta SRT-101 in 1978. I still have it, but it is a film camera, and digital is so much more fun . Sony bought their camera division and although I have occasionally tried other brands, they always go back to the store because they are a disappointment. I only buy Sony cameras now. I have the RX100, an NEX-5R, and now this Alpha 6000. I travel and the smaller size format is more portable for me. I gave my full frame Sony to my daughter. ( That one is a great camera but too heavy for a disabled senior photo enthusiast. )

Excellent camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best cameras available in the market. I took it to our recent trip to Europe and is very happy with the quality of the pictures. It is easy to handle, easy to carry, fast focusing ... I can keep on like this, but in short, it is an excellent camera. The only drawback is the short-life on the battery. You may want to purchase a second battery pack while traveling

Compact versatile camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using DSLRs for almost 10 years and its really hard to go back from that yet I didn't want to lug all that around while traveling. So while shopping for a point and shoot that I wouldn't be embarrassed to use I found out about mirror-less DSRLs and I was sold. While not exactly compact enough to fit in a pocket, it is light and small enough for a bag or purse. It took up no room at at in the top of my backpack and fit in some of my more baggy pant's pockets. The auto focus feature was somewhat annoying for trying to take depth of field shots on moving subjects (kept switching the point of focus between subjects), but once i figured out how to do it manually I was able to get past that. Its not as fast or easy to use as a full blown DSLR to focus and set the shutter speed / aperture as the controls are mostly electronic and there are only so many interfaces on this on account of its size. But for what I paid and its size, its a great in between for someone wanting the tools / toys of a DSLR but in a smaller almost pocket size.

Great/ compact yet loaded w/ awesome feautures
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a small camera that I could easily take to weddings or events when I would not be needing my full size camera. This would be an excellent beginner camera or as in my case an addition to my fully loaded DSL. The Wifi set up was a breeze. Picture quality and editing features are both outstanding. Very pleased with this camera - would definitely recommend it.

Great Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first interchangeable lens camera and so far the picture quality has been very good. Overall it's a good camera. I like this camera because unlike a DSLR it is smaller and lighter and I was looking for something I wouldn't mind carrying around everywhere I go. The EVF is great for daylight because the screen can be hard to see. I also recommend that you buy a telephoto lens if you don't already have one as the lens it comes with is more of a wide angle lens.
