Great camera for the price and size
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was happy with $99 point and shoots but any night shot (starlight and dimly lit rooms) can be a real achilleas heel for them. Was going to get a used Nikon d40 or 60 body to get a bit more low light range. This camera on sale + open box is about in the same price range. It is very compact and takes awesome pictures for the price. A few things I don't like (only 1 - 3 matter to me); 1) Can't silence the shutter. 2) have to pay for apps that maybe should be build into the camera. 3) Menu and navigation takes some getting used to and I constantly forget how I mapped the buttons. 4) stabilization in lens and not body 5) good and fast lenses are really expensive. 6) really eats batteries 7) video not 4k 8) would be nice if screen swiveled forward for selfies. Some of my nick picking can be solved if I spented 3x more for a 6500a but for the price i paid this camera can't be beat for picture quality and versitility. I think this is the perfect first dslr or removeable lens camera for someone. You can learn with this camera and move on from here without spending too much.

Great DX Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first DX mirrorless camera. I bought it for travel use. Purchased the two lens kit for under 1K. I am not happy with the speed and quality of the lenses but they are a great value. The camera is feature rich. The excitement about the camera is understandable. Battery life is horrible. Extra batteries are a must. it does not come with an external charger. Slick idea to make you think it's cheaper and lighter than a DSLR. With adapters and other manual lenses...this camera takes you to another dimension in your photography. Mirrorless is not better or worst than DSLR...just different. This camera has proven itself to be the best vehicle to explore those differences.

Great Camera for a beginner to advanced
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this camera, I had the Sonly a33 which was great. But this camera blows it away in speed and quality with the bonus of being small.

Fantastic Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is the best of all worlds. I have an old professional camera that does what this camera can do but now I only have to point and shoot. I even bought an adapter to put a telephoto on it. It also is really easy to upload the photos into my phone or computer. The cost is overshadowed by the ease of use and versatility available with this technology.

Great camera; insane menu
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Image quality is great. I don't mind the distortion with the 16-55, because I can just click the profile in Lightroom or keep the distortion if I like it. What I don't like is two things. The menu is insane and the battery life is terrible.

This camera is awesome - small - replaces my Nikon
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is small and very mighty. Easily use lenses from you Nikon - Canon - or Minolta lenses with readily available adapters. Has lots of options for lots of different ways and means to shoot. Get a good book to learn more than the basics. Lots of info on the web. Buy it you will be well pleased!

Buy This Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this camera for my wife as a wedding gift right before we got married. Took it on our honeymoon. She absolutely loves it. Camera works great, easy to use, simple to understand. Takes amazing photos and videos. Camera is able to capture things the way you are seeing them. I hate when photos come out looking differently then the way you took them, but not with this camera. These pictures are amazing. This is great for anyone who wants to buy a nice camera and start using it without having to read a 200 page manual to figure out how to turn it on. Not this camera, no issues what so ever. If you are reading this review, and thinking about buying this camera go ahead and buy it, you will not be disappointed. It was a toss up between this and one other camera, and I am so happy I chose this one. Plus it was highly recommended by some photographer friends of mine. Oh and I must add, our professional videographers at our wedding happened to be using these on our wedding day. My wife loves this camera, and I do too. Buy this camera

Superior camera, below average manual
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony's ALPHA a6000 takes beautiful pictures and dials and buttons are navigatable after you watch everything possible on the internet. But that said, internet resources are excellent because the camera has attracted great photographers/teachers. Just take the time to familiarize yourself with the functions you want to use or you'll become frustrated and your point-and-shot friends will think you're over your head.

Works great for close up wildlife photography
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The auto focus on this camera is so fast that it takes clear, focused close up pictures of birds and wildlife and nature scenes that I never thought was possible to take. Now I am saving up for a zoom lens so that I can sit farther away to take pictures. The Geek Squad was extremely helpful showing me how to use the camera in one quick session with them. The camera is so easy to use and takes great photos.

Light and capable still and video
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera takes excellent stills. After much searching in Full Frame to M 4/3, This camera represents the best choice as a combo of high megapixel stills, and low aliasing/moire on video. My A&II has ridiculous aliasing. The A7rII is very expensive, as is the A7sII. The camera is not 4k, but there is very little outlet for that now. The NX1 has limited lens choice and the Canon M has no viewfinder. M 4/3 cameras largely top out at 16mp and have a smaller sensor. The newer GX8 is nice but more expensive!

Good value
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good value for what you get especially finding one open box. Even though this model is on the older side. It is still a decent all round camera. It is great as a secondary camera to compliment a full frame Sony. Being able to share lenses and have both cameras available to get that shot. Otherwise if you had to switch lenses you would have missed.

Great camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not a professional photographer but I have always wanted to take beautiful pictures. I bought a Fujifilm camera for my las vacation, it was great the only problem it took too long to focus and snap fast pictures. I love this Sony camera for that, I need a fast picture and it does it fast. It can even do about 10 in a second, it is amazing. I still need to learn all the gadgets it has but so far I am in love with it. I really recommend it to others that want to begging to take semi-professional pictures.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sorry Nikon-it’s been fun-but this Sony has won my heart! Ease of use-so many options! The quality of my shots! The light weight feel of the camera in my hands-I’m very pleased! My 15 year old is a newbie photog and the shots he has gotten with this camera has inspired him! Thanks again Sony!!

Invincible Extremes, We rate this camera the best!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I film for Invincible Extremes Muscle Cars Garage and I have to say this camera performed very well compared to other products we used. I recommend before getting this you understand how to make pro videos with bad equipment. The ISO performance is great up to 3200 iso for video but can be pushed to an acceptable 12800 with the 16-50mm kit lens. The Image remains crisp in low light conditions thanks to the high bit rate that keeps allot of details in those dark spaces.

ABSOLUTE GREAT RESOLUTION
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for advanced amateur or pro. Light weight with all the controls of a high end DSLR. Gorgeous pics, with the 24.3 MP's. Easy to carry. Almost begs you to take more pictures. It will take a little hands on time to familiarize yourself with the controls if you have never had such exposure accessibiltiy.
