I wanted a nicer camera, but wasn't ready to invest over $1,000 in a camera. The Best Buy salesperson highlighted the A6000 as an alternative to a DSLR - good quality photos, wifi capability, and the ability to add additional lenses for more zoom. So far, I'm please with the size, weight and quality of the camera.

We bought the camera right before our Bora bora honeymoon after seeing a friend with one. The pictures look great. It also has a video function and wifi capabilites. The best feature is being able to wirelessly sync photos to your cell for quick upload to social media outlets. Definitely worth the price.

I bough this camera for my wife for Christmas and it was a great choice. We were wanting to get a new camera but didn't want to waste money on one of those little point-and-shoot cameras, however, we weren't wanting to spend the money a DSLR costs. This camera greatly fits our needs in budget and quality.

This is my second camera and it is amazing. If you stick with the 16-50mm retractable lense your pictures will look above average. I would suggest buying a different lense for the type of shots you're looking for. It's super compact and lighter in weight which makes it perfect for traveling and hiking.

This camera can do it all the only down side is the kit lens as it is ok for home use but if you require pro photos then you will need to buy lens that cost as much as the camera or twice as much the only ones that are affordable and great imaging are the sigma art 60mm f/2.8 lens and the 50mm f/1.8 Prime lens

The beauty of this camera is you can turn it on, start shooting and immediately produce great results. For more advanced users, the configuration menus took some getting used to, but make sense after a quick read through manual. And with interchangeable lenses, it becomes a very versatile performer!

Takes awesome pictures in low light situations. Very clear images - I purchased this camera as an upgrade from a point-and-shoot I had for many years having heard so many good reviews from friends/family, I have yet to be disappointed

Took this camera with me on a 3 week trip throughout Europe. It far exceeded my expecatations. It's smaller and lightweight compared to other huge DSLR was a huge benefit. The photos came out perfect and it was super easy to transfer those photos to my phone and tablet while in the trip making them very easy to share. The different scene settings really allow you pick the perfect shot for whatever setting you choose. After watching so many people carry around huge Cannons and Nikons I know I made the right choice with the Sony one. Also you can buy different attachment pieces that that you to put on different lenses on the Sony.

I loved the feel of this camera and felt it was very easy to pick up and start using out of the box. I wanted to try a mirrorless camera versus a bigger camera to expand out of the point and shoot world that I am accustomed to. I found this camera as a clearance open box item for almost half price and couldn't pass it up based on the specs. The pictures and videos looked amazing on the display. I tested it in several conditions and everything seemed great. However, when I uploaded the pics and videos to review them my heart sank when I saw the quality. The videos were jumpy and the image would slow down and speed up oddly on each one. You could hear the lens noise loudly when zooming in and out. Also the metal clanging of where the strap attached to the camera was irritating on video (and in general). About 30% of the pics had a fishbowl effect with stretched edges (faces looked especially strange). I used the automatic setting most of the time and perhaps with more practice on my part better images could have been achieved. I could not figure out how to take a video that played normally. I'm not sure if this camera was flawed and that's why it was originally returned, but I ended up returning it due to less than stellar picture and video quality. I was very disappointed because I really wanted to love this camera!!

I actually went into the store to purchase a new DSLR and the salesperson introduced me to a mirrorless camera. Not knowing what this was all about, I tried it on a trip to Washington DC. I love the size, weight and power of this little gem. It has all the functionalities of a DSLR in a much smaller package. Would recommend to anyone thinking of switching from a big DSLR to a similarly powerful mirrorless camera. Love Best Buy's return policy. Loved this so much, actually ended up purchasing the latest model with more bells and whistles. But this is a great camera as a intro to mirrorless cameras.

I bought this camera after hearing rave reviews about it on the internet. It doesn't disappoint one bit. The controls do take a bit getting used to..I took a week to come to terms with the menu. But once you do, the shots are pretty amazing. As a beginner, its flattering to see the output.

Great camera even a beginner can understand out of the box. Easy to use. Easy to navigate. Incredible focus even on moving objects. My one and only complaint is the camera strap is the most unconfortable thing in the world.
