Needed a smaller and lighter camera to use on trip to Europe. Previously used Nikon DSLR, excellent camera, but wanted something wife could carry in purse. This worked great and took excellent pictures with high resolution. Also recommend camera because of viewfinder.

I'm not a pro and I'm a bit better than a novice, so, the a6000 Sony mirrorless camera was the perfect choice for me. It's compact and lightweight and great for travel. There are a lot of features, but easy to use guides built within the camera that provide continuous help. I would recommend this camera without hesitation.

I am really enjoying this camera. I wanted to do more portrait photography though, so I went ahead and purchased a 50mm, f1.8 OSS lens. Now I'm just over the moon. The kit lens is really nice, but the 50mm is fabulous. The camera body took some getting used to because it's smaller and lighter than a DSLR; but, HELLO!, it's smaller and lighter - so, Yay!! It does all that the DSLR I was using does and more. The only con is the battery life; so do yourself a favor and purchase a second battery and a separate charger. Other accessories I bought are a hood for the 50mm, a hot-shoe protector, and a screen protector. Beautiful camera at a great price!!

I really like this camera. I would say, I'd prefer not to have a power lens because it seems like if I accidentally knock the switch on, it could break in my bag. However aside from that, the pictures look fantastic and the features are easy to understand and use right out of the box. I also like how the flash works for the camera.

Sharp pictures, easy to carry, extremely quick focusing. This is a very portable and quite capable camera when I don't want to pack my SLR and lenses. The lens equalivant of 24-75 is somewhat limiting on the telephoto end, but the wide angle was more important to me.

This camera is fast. It's actually the world's fastest autofocus. Its image quality is comparable to DSLRs with higher price tags. It's weight and size is half of those DSLRs. The included 16-50mm retractable lens is good for everyday use, but I recommend the 55-210mm zoom lens to get a closer view of distant subjects.

This camera is by far the best camera I have owned. It's light-weight and small enough to fit in my pocket. It works especially well with movement in low light situations. I purchased a wide angle lens and zoom lens, but I find I use the lens that came with the camera almost all of the time. I highly recommend this item.

Outstanding picture quality (IQ), and resolution, in a small package, easily capable of substituting for my DSLR, when all I want to do is point and shoot. Excellent color, and outstanding low light capability with lens provided in the kit, (16-50 mm). Also, focuses real fast so you can grab those fast children moves.

This is a great camera and the pictures rival those I took with my dslr. In fact, I think the coloring and lighting is sometimes better, particularly with indoor photos. I like the smaller size and lightness of the camera compared to my dslr. I find it much more portable. I also like that you can generally see how the photo will turn out on the screen, unlike a dslr. The only thing that I don't find to be at the same level of a dslr is taking pictures of action, as there's a slight delay in the electronic viewfinder and the auto focusing of the camera seems to take ever so slightly longer and harder to find the subject with fast unpredictable motion (e.g. children), so I have to anticipate the action and time the shot as to when I think the best moment might be. So sometimes I miss a shot here and there, but I really like it overall.

This camera is easier to carry than a full size Digital SLR. The sensor is good enough for in door usage without the flash. Pretty good at macro photography as well. Has useful consumer grade features that are not found on higher end semi-pro cameras. Much better picture quality than tiny point and shoot.

The sony a6000 has proven to be a great replacement for my lost NEX-5r, the image quality is great, the connectivity and enhancement through the smartphone application is much improved. Things I Liked : Compact size It has Viewfinder Screen articulation is nice Solidly built Good image quality Cons Not a fan of the powerzoom lens Screen doesn't rotate 180 like the NEX-5 Viewfinder image quality is poor

The camera takes VERY good pictures. Only thing that limits this camera is its cropped lens. Super easy to use and is perfect for people just learning how to use a camera.

Minimal noise when compared to other professional cameras. Plenty of features to take better shots, however it can be a little overwhelming for a hobbyist. Better for a photographer in training who wants to understand the many ways to improve his shots with all the features it includes. Easy to transfer pictures.

I am a semi- professional and I currently shoot with Nikon D810 and D500 as a back up. I love them both but needed some thing to carry around everyday that was smaller than a DSLR but had the same familiar functions and be able to shoot manually. Something that could also use fast lenses for low light or shallow depth of field for portraiture. I have played with the A6000 for a couple of weeks now both outside and in studio. I am very impressed with its abilities in both. I have only used two Sony lenses, the kit 16-50 3.5 to 5.6 and the 50 FE 1.8. Both are great for everyday and I would use this system as a back up if all else failed. The images are impressive for such a little camera. I sad that my Nikons don't have eye autofocus. All in all it's a keeper and may consider converting to all Sony with NIkon as a back up.

Have not had the camera very long, but so far it is fairly impressive with the exception of the video mode. I purchased the camera because I wanted clear shots of action and activities that take place in low light setting such as sports activities in a gym. It does accomplish that goal for me. My previous camera had a video feature that would allow me to switch over to that mode so that I did not have to carry an additional piece of equipment. This camera will let you video, but in the middle of the band concert for my son the camera indicated that the interior was too hot and was shutting down. The instruction book does state that could be an issue. I missed some of the song play while the camera cooled off. If you are planning on utilizing this feature of the camera then be aware that these are for short shots only and not major video footage. Even multiple short clips could be an issue. Even knowing this I would still purchase this product, but would have brought along another piece of equipment or used my phone for the concert had I known that this would occur. The instructions book does not tell you how long it will take to get to this point, but only that it can happen. I was not prepared.

I decided to purchase this camera after comparing Cannon and Nikon DSLRs. The shutter speed and image quality are amazing. I also love the ability to take a video with a touch of a button as opposed to changing settings. I have a young niece and I cannot keep up with her, making this the perfect camera. The only flaw I can see is the flash, but I love that you can choose not to use it in any setting. The flash really washes out objects that are close. Without the flash, the camera can take 3 pictures and blend them together to make one amazing image! Best camera purchase I have made in a decade. I have had three family members and a couple friends go out an buy this camera after playing with mine for just a few minutes.

Love this camera, takes great pictures. Good for beginners or seasoned photographers. Love I can take great pictures and can fit in my purse. Previously owned DLSR which I never used due to size. Took on trip and got great action shots (in focus) of my grandchildren. Very happy I purchased this camera.

I am a professional photographer and purchased this camera because some of my associates were using the camera for real estate photography and giving at rave reviews. This little camera led them to put down their expensive DLSR's and almost exclusively use the A6000 for real estate. I also I'm using it now more than my Nikon and absolutely love it. It's worth the money and has great, easy to use features to include Wi-Fi. The pictures are sharp and the colors are true. It's low like capability is some of the best I've seen for a Camera of this size and price.

This is a great "in between" camera. More portable and perhaps easier to use than a DLSR, but takes photos almost as good. Definitely breaks through the minimum photo quality floor set by new smartphones. Looking forward to trying some different lenses in the future. The WIFI features are pretty cool for sharing photos though a smartphone or triggering the shutter remotely.
