Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the camera's quality, ease of use, and compact size and weight, making it a convenient option. The camera's 4K capabilities, low light performance, and fast autofocus are also well-received. However, customers are negative about the battery life and overheating issues, especially when shooting video, and some find the menu system difficult to navigate and would like a touch screen.

Sony has a reputation for quality and I can see why, the camera is well designed and the finish is flawless. Very comfortable when taking pictures and the tilt screen helps for low angle shots.

a6300 is super compact for a camera of their category. The pros are ease to handle, light weight, but we using larger lenses (even the kit's one: 55-210mm) the weight balance becomes to forward. Apart of that, the pictures are awesome and I really satisfied.

This camera is incredible. It has everything I am looking for and more. The image quality is excellent and it is small enough to fit in my jacket pocket. While the battery life is shorter than other cameras, it is chargeable with the same cords and battery packs I use for my cell phone, which is an incredible innovation! I took this thing out on the boat with some friends and it performed amazing. Definitely pick this up as a travel and walk around camera. If its too pricey and you don't care about video, then go with the a6000 (similar image quality for like half the price) Things to keep in mind before buying this camera. 1. Battery Life is on the lower side (As it is with all mirrorless camera) 2. 4K video has very intense rolling shutter effect (intense warping of environment when moving the camera) 3. Lens selection from Sony is not as strong as Nikon and Canon and tends to be more expensive.

This was the perfect travel camera. Fast auto focus. Great image quality and low light performance, even with the kit lens. Expect even better performance with 35mm f/1.8 lens..

Camera is pricey—but I’ve found it does quite well in low light situations and with tracking moving objects—my dogs. I have a DSLR camera but rarely use it because it’s large and heavy. iPhone cameras have improved but rarely work well in challenging environments. This camera is just small enough and lightweight that I’ve found that I take it with more often now.

Having shot with a Canon for several years, I researched a ton about mirrorless camera options. When deciding on the Sony, I went back and forth between the a6000 and a6300, which was the middle ground for the features I desired and more importantly cost. This system is much lighter, portable, tack sharp. I sold a lot of my older lenses and purchased an all purpose Sony 18-105 F4, which is buttery smooth. It takes some time getting used to the new layout, but I’m happy I purchased this.

This camera is great for those who want something in between a point and shoot and a DSLR because it's smaller but takes amazing pictures and videos. I can bring it with me wherever I go without having to worry about lugging around a super heavy camera and it actually fits in my small purse. As for pictures, I've taken quick shots with the lots lens and that look like they've been taken by a professional. I have had this camera for about 7 months and am still absolutely satisfied.

I bought the a6300 to replace a Canon 7d Mark II. I considered the a6000 but what sold me on the a6300 is this camera is weather resistant and built tough. The a6300 feels really good and solid in my small hands. Although different from my Canon, it's easy to use, with buttons conveniently placed. The shutter is much quieter than the 7d. It's a lot lighter and smaller than the 7d. Both camera's are great but I love how compact the a6300 is. Perfect for travel.

    Great starter mirrorless camera

New to photography, I did my research and found that Sony is one of the best in mirrorless and in price. The quality of the pictures is really good, the screen menu is pretty easy to navigate (just wished it was touchscreen), the autofocus is really quick, and the lens for the e-mount are cheap compared to full frame lenses. The battery does go fairly quick, but I bought a spare for intense day use, and a spare gets me through the day. the kit lens is ok, decent range, but there are obviously better lenses out there that are more expensive. Still, I chose the a6300 over the a6500 because i didn't think that there was much of a difference for the price difference, and I chose crop sensor over full frame because again price, and because lenses are cheaper for crop sensor. Like i said this is a good beginner camera, if you are unsure whether photography is something you want to take seriously.

I ended purchasing this camera because wanted something that is small and compact which would allow me to take it anywhere. This camera lives up to its reputation, taking amazing photos. The photos are nice and sharp. I highly recommend this! *The photos that I uploaded were edited in Lightroom. I only edited the color saturation, the clearness of the photos was produced from the camera*

This is a great camera for a beginner, especially if you want something easy to carry. The only caveat I have to that is that the menu system is a bit fiddly. While it is a great camera for a beginner. Just like a dslr it does take some work to learn how to use.

I've been using a Nikon D300 for quite a few years. It is a great camera but it is heavy, large, and loud. The Sony A6300 does everything my Nikon could do, but it is small, light, and silent, a joy to use. It also has modern technology such as 4K video but I haven't tried that yet. For photography challenged individual, you can set everything to full auto and get some very nice photographs. For someone more knowledgeable you have full control over everything, just as with a DLSR. You know how most DSLR cameras are photo cameras that also include video features. Sony has effectively flipped the script with this TINY mirrorless body. I'm coming from the Nikon range, and I use adapters that autofocus and some that don't. I kept ALL my Nikon AF glass and primes for video. I use an 18-105 for ENG type event coverage, and primes for beauty shots. the custom setting modes on the dial let me switch between 4k/30p and 1080/120p with one flick. The screen could be brighter and the battery could last longer, but you can power these with external phone charger type battery packs making this super powerful yet small and nimble video rig. Add a cheap monitor for focusing, lens adapters if you don't wat to switch to Sony completely, and a cage all for under $1200 retail I take it everywhere because it's so small compared to my nikons, and I love how fast it shoots and how mellow the top mounted flash is when you tilt it upwards. The AF is amazing especially for video functions if you're not shooting those lofty cinematic productions. 10/10 buy two.

I have been eyeing this camera for quite sometime now. I recently purchased a couple days before Christmas, and this camera has not let me down so far. I love how small and light weight the camera is, and how you can still use interchangeable lenses. The smoothness of the video quality is the also great aspect. I would recommend buying more lenses to broaden your options for even everyday shooting. Small but powerful mirrorless.

Quick and brief. Camera is great, performance far beyond price. Pictures are A+ and compare to dslr camera 2-3x the price. 4/5 stars, because end result is perfect, some major usability aspects are frustrating. No touch screen for easy focus, tilt screen in one direction only, no mic out, menu system takes a lot of getting used to, quick easy access to essential manual operations is limited. Most cons have workarounds or not deal breakers, and pretty much anything not listed is great. For me, price, performance, and lack of huge cons, make this a no regrets purchase.
