Customers are positive about the camera's quality, ease of use, and compact size and weight, making it a convenient option. The camera's 4K capabilities, low light performance, and fast autofocus are also well-received. However, customers are negative about the battery life and overheating issues, especially when shooting video, and some find the menu system difficult to navigate and would like a touch screen.

This is my first mirrorless camera. I wanted something I could use manually and auto to replace my small point and shoot. I also don't like the cell phone photos too much.
I have mostly used in automode and sony does a great job in detecting what I'm looking at and scenes. Photos are crisp and functions are easy to use.
The only thing I wish it had was a touch screen and maybe GPS. I would definitely recommend this buy..

The quality of the photos are incredible. Like all of the reviews will say for every camera on the market, spend some money and get a nice lens. I can't live without my 16-70mm Zeiss, but this review is for the camera not the Zeiss lens.
The menu is a mess. There are a TON of options, which I'm sure lots of people at this level of photography are excited about, but for me, it's too many choices. That said, it only took a couple of trips out with the camera to find the 10 or so settings I care about and feel comfortable using the camera in the way that I want to use it. I also found some new cool features that I have been liking including the spot focus and fixed focus.
The silent shutter is awesome, and I'm sure it is really great for photographing animals. Also a plus for street photography so you can snap pics of people walking by without being so obvious or embarrassing.
Here are the cons:
The screen. For this much money, why didn't they make the screen a touch screen? It doesn't make sense. Do I really have to pay an extra $400 for the A6500 to get a touch screen? Also, the screen doesn't swivel. It moves VERY slightly, and I suppose just enough to move the camera down to take a shot from waist level, but this is another thing that I don't understand. My 4 year old Sony NEX 5t had both a touch screen and a screen that came all the way up to enact a selfie type mode. Why drop stuff like this? I thought that products were supposed to improve features, not do away with useful things.
Also, like I said above, the menu is overwhelming. The buttons are super customizeable, but there's just too much going on for anyone who isn't a professional photographer. If I had to guess I would say even pros probably aren't using half of the options in here.
So, am I happy with the purchase? Yes. Am I disappointed that they didn't include some of the core features that I used with my original Sony mirrorless? Big Time.

I was looking for a new camera for quite a while, I've tried GH4 and used to have a Canon DSLR before. This camera blows them away. First of all it's very compact, second, autofocus is very good (comparing to GH4 and other) just a little worse than Canon DSLR. 4K is exceptional. I didn't have a lot of hopes for a Kit leans but ended up keeping it and using it a lot.

I purchased this Sony camera to replace my 9 year old Canon DSLR. I wanted to get something that would take incredible pictures and did not weigh as much as a traditional DSLR. This camera has good weight and takes incredible pictures. The ONLY con thus far is the battery life is not as good as my Canon DSLR, simple solution get additional batteries.

This camera is almost perfect. It has amazing quality and is feature rich. The main reasons I am giving four stars instead of five is because of its short battery life, bad rolling shutter, and overheating issues when shooting video. Please do not that the overheating issues do not occur frequently as long as you're only shooting short clips of video at a time, but it can become a pain. Otherwise, this camera is wonderful.

The A6300 is a nice upgrade from a regular point and shoot camera, offering increased functionality and performance. The image quality, 4K recording, and size makes this camera stand out. Only complaint is an external battery charger is sold separately. Comes with a cable so you have to charge your camera like a phone.

The camera takes fantastic pictures and has the ability to take 4K movies. This is a significant improvement over my previous camera (Sony Nex-5R): Much lighter, easier to navigate the controls, easier to upload photos, etc. The lens that came with camera was adequate.
The movies can be a bit jittery when compared to a dedicated 4K camcorder.
Overall I am satisfied with the camera.

I bought this camera back in March of 2017 I believe and I don't know how I would see the world without it. This is my first "professional" camera and I absolutely love it. I had help from my friend who is a film major to pick it out and he said this should fit my needs the best. I wanted to take pictures of watersports while I am on the boat, late night pictures of buildings, take pictures of landscapes, and film in 4K. This camera does it all!
Only thing I do not like is that when I record in 4K and I'm walking and moving the camera it seems to lag. So you have to record in 4K and keep the camera steady.

Fantastic Camera, with a Few Minor Caveats.

So I purchased the Sony a6300 to become sort of my everything camera because it has all the quality (in stills AND video) as any of the Canon/Nikon DSLRs and the full-frame Sony series, but there's still a few minor niggles that hold this camera (and all of Sony's mirrorless cameras) back. The main thing that, as a YouTuber, makes this camera (sadly) dead on arrival is the lack of a flip up or side-articulating display. And on top of that, the display isn't touchscreen so there's no tap to focus, which is SUCH a great feature during video shooting. Being a one-man team I need equipment that makes my life a bit easier. The PlayMemories app is pathetic to use as a viewfinder, as it's incredibly laggy and doesn't have a way to start video recording, only snap photos.
On a positive note, the quality of the footage and the speed of the autofocus are absolutely unmatched, and positively incredible. And the camera is super compact and light as well.

Great for beginners who are barely starting out. Even better for someone who’s just using it as a point and shoot. Lacks IBIS but the kit lens has steady shot so no big deal. Menus are kind of tricky. The imagine quality is great. You can get a lot out of this camera if you know what you’re doing. A lot of features in a little body which makes it such a good deal.

This a great camera! Used it to shoot 4k video and RAW pictures for my cousins wedding. I am not a pro by any means but the pictures and video cam out great! Crisp and clear! The only problem that I had was it would shut down because of over heating while recording in 4k for more than 30 minutes at a time. The camera had no problem shooting in 1080p for more than 2 hours.

This is an amazing little camera. It has every function I was looking for as an intermediate videographer. And it shoots in 4k!
It's super light, which is great on my arms when I'm shooting a wedding. And it sets up quick. I like the I can set up my most used profiles. It also shoots in s-log, video equivalent of RAW. And I love the lens options!
The only complaint I have is that the strap hooks are right where the record button is! So, as you might guess, I shoot some accidental video of my feet. But it works great on my Zhiyun Crane. I want to graduate one day to a Sony a7, but, this is a really good option for those not wanting to spend that much money.
