The Sony Alpha a7 II is a powerful, well-specified and versatile camera that is capable of producing high-quality images in both photography and video. Particularly this camera has everything up to full frame

I upgrade from Nikon d3400. It’s ok to invest in Sony camera or other brand what’s the easiest camera to used to get your photo shoot done. Con: No guide Menu pdf where are the settings located on the camera. Battery charger are not included. Pro: Image quality is stunning. More selection of lens to choose from third party or sony.

I was looking to upgrade my Sony a6000 to a full frame and of course I really wanted the Sony a7r II, but couldn't afford it. I read the reviews and it turns out the 7II is a solid option that will allow me to shoot what I want at a fraction of the price. The kit lens is pretty good and for me I rented the 70-300mm to play around with as well as using the 90mm Zeis. The picture quality was superb. I'm very happy with my upgrade.

I've used Nikon, Canon, Sony full frame cameras. There are better cameras. There are better cameras. There are better cameras. But if you are a new (or not so new) photographer worried about marrying a lens set, camera system, cost etc, You won't go wrong with this camera. You may only outgrow it. This will be your highly functional baby for several years.

Great camera for the money. Full frame image stabilization in camera. Bought a cheap adapter and I use all my old manual lenses and it works great. It’s light, small and I love this camera.

Besides the dismally short battery life, I returned this camera for the following reasons: 1. It didn't take photos that were any better than my older cropped sensor A57 sony SLR. This was true in low light, capturing motion, daytime photos, etc (a variety of conditions). 2. The photos this did take were often blurry because this camera just isn't fast. It's slow to react and laggy. The auto focus left a lot to be desired. 3. Even in manual mode, I found that this camera didn't give me much more than my 6 year old camera that cost 1/3rd as much. The new technology wasn't palpable. 4. A lot that makes up good photos is good glass. There aren't many lenses to choose from relative to Canon or Nikon and the lenses out there that are for the A7ii are very expensive for what they are. There's also far smaller of a used market for Sony cameras and lenses and that's going to affect how much you spend for their products and how much you're going to get when you try to sell them. This isn't a bad camera, it's just not a camera that feels very "professional grade." You could purchase a camera that is just as good for a third or half as much from Canon, Nikon, or even, Sony. Yes, the Sony SLRs are a whole lot better than their own mirrorless. I don't think mirrorless is ready for prime time quite yet. As for the battery, the last straw for me was when I went to a wedding and I ran out of a fully charged battery in 2 hours. I ended up going back into the car and getting my trusty old A57 and enjoyed using the old camera even more than the new one. The pictures were every bit as good too. I used the A7ii for one month and I returned it.

Absolutely amazing! Even the kit lense that came with it is FANTASTIC! Was very surprised as some kit lenses can be cheap, but this one isnt. I mainly shoot cars and food, and the kit lense helps me do that. I would also look at the 1.8/50mm lense from sony, very good price to performance ratio.

I'm not a pro by any means, and I know I'm no longer a beginner. I have used a Canon t3 for many years. It got me through college and got me a few gigs with some photoshoots. I wanted to grow just a tiny bit more. This camera is perfect for that! And super user-friendly. I highly recommend this camera to someone who is ready to take the next jump.

If you look to capture perfect cinematic look and play with slow motion with 60 frames around that price range? Perfect solution! Great image stability made it stupid easy to edit footage. Great sensor for low light shooting, but not the best, would consider extra lightning equipment if low light is your case. Otherwise, I’ve been using it for videos and absolutely love everything about it
