Thinking the newest, & most expensive camera would work brand new straight out the box. Should have thought twice. Returned the camera within a week of purchasing it because the shutter wasnt working correctly & a few other things, but what made me angry is I go in spend over $3000 cash, & when I returned it because it wasnt working properly, I had to pay about $400 in restocking fee & to top it off I spend hard earned cash & handed it to them but my refund had to be mailed to me, and it took over a week to get it. Not happy!

    The Finest Image Possible

I've been a professional digital photographer since 1999 having owned several Canon pro and half a dozen pro Nikon bodies and their top lenses. Multiple flashes and more along the way. DSLR's still rule regarding fast moving subjects in lower light, BUT this Sony A7RII is the NEW King of the Hill for shear image quality. It has the finest dynamic range, best low noise in higher ISO's and is a pure joy to use ditching the huge and heavy DSLR gear in general. To maximize one's results you are best off going with primes in the 20mm to 90mm range if possible as the resolution on this camera is so tremendous that in order to appreciate and realize it primes are the best lens choice I don't recommend the 24-70 f4 Zeiss as example for it's full of too many compromises. I recommend the 35mm f2.8 Zeiss for walk around and for serious and special results you can NOT beat the 55mm f1.8 being about perhaps their finest overall lens. If you need longer and can swing the price, there is NO question the 70-200G f4 lens is THE lens to own. Sharp wide open from one end to the other and solidly and professionally built. If you need a lens that can do it all don't hesitate to consider the FE 24-240 as it covers it ALL for general use. The HVL-43M is THE best flash for this camera no doubt. The plethora of picture adjustment possibilities are endless. The Jpeg results are by far the finest Sony has ever accomplished. RAW is no longer essential for dramatic results. The Video is industry leading for quality and so easy to use. I was amazed at the quality of the sound just from the built in mics. The screen is plenty large, bright and sharp. The buttons have a quality feel and are NOT mushy by any means. Its a lot of money but this is an ultimate body and deserves great lenses.

    Stunning images

This camera is a significant advance over the SLR and SLT cameras I have owned (film and digital). You will need very good lenses to keep up with the sensor resolution, but Sony has quite a few now (SEL2470Z and SEL90M28G are currently serving me well in that capacity). The multitude of focusing options take a while to master, but are well worth the effort. The high ISO performance is excellent! I routinely use 6400 with stunning results. The A7RII provides an adequate frame rate for stills (5 FPS in Speed-priority Continuous mode), but one cannot expect images of this size to transfer quite as quickly as with other Sony cameras (e.g. 12 FPS for A77). Sony has e-mount specifications freely available and there are mount adapters for almost any lens you can name. Some even allow the functioning of in-lens stabilization with Canon and Nikon lenses. The batteries are small (to match the size of the body) relative to SLR and SLT models so you may need 3 or more for an all-day outing. Be warned of three potential consequences of purchasing the A7RII: 1) you will pixel-peep, 2) you will get a serious case of lens lust, and 3) you will spend a more time with your camera (and have fun doing it).

    Amazing Pro Quality Camera

I made the jump to full frame and I am absolutely loving it! I moved over to full frame from my previous Sony a55. This thing is solid, feels very good in your hands with the added dimension in the grip. It is light enough when compared to other larger DSLRS so carrying it is a joy. At the moment I am using the LAEA 4 with 2 minolta lenses, Sigma 85 1.4, and my Tamron 28-75 2.8 a mount lenses. I am planning on grabbing the 55 1.8, Macro 90mm, and Batis lenses soon but in the meantime I am enjoying every minute of this amazing camera. Note, for those of you who own A mount lenses make sure you research which lenses auto focus with the LAEA3 because most of mine did not work with that adapter. The LAEA4 works with all the older lenses that do not have a built in drive but you do lose the 399 focus points and several auto focus modes. However, I found that the LAEA4 focuses well with my lenses and the 1/2 stop I lose is no problem with this camera. This camera is NOT perfect, but it is definitely close to it and I believe with some firmware upgrades it will be even more AMAZING.

I bought this product on the internet and picked it up at the Hendersen store on the eve of my return to Brazil, I only checked the product when I arrived at the hotel was when I noticed that several items were missing such as a battery / charger / etc ... But worst of all is that the display was showing a big spot on the screen. My luck was that I was going to make a 6 hour stopover in Dallas (DFW) and I managed to exchange the product at the Grapevine store.   My dissatisfaction with BestBuy is that this problem with the product should be detailed on the website during the purchase, in addition to what I had to pay for the product to be returned to the Hendersen store. I will never buy an open-box product again through the BestBuy website.

I have had this camera for about a month now and I am still blown away with the video and pictures this thing outputs. It is expensive but I can honestly say that it is priced this high for a reason. When i bought into it I was not happy with the lens selection but it really seems like Sony has listened and came out with the 50mm 1.8 that is affordable as a starter lens. I mainly use this camera for church events that are indoor and sometimes not well lit except on stage. This camera has made it possible for me to take pictures and video with such good quality and visibility in low light giving me more options for angles I never knew could be attained during some of the church services. Now the only thing I am waiting for is more budget friendly lenses like the 50mm.

Wow... Yes, I've used Canon for years. Yes, I am a huge fan of Nikon. Yes, I chucked it all and went to the Sony A7R2. I have had this camera for almost two months. It was only out a few weeks. And, I can't believe I waited that long. I've paired it with the Sony's Lenses as well as old Canon Glass. This thing actually lives up to the hype. I was SO nervous to make this purchase. But WOW it goes with me, everywhere! Best Buy will only allow me to attach a 5MB image...check out DPReview, they will tell you the same thing. I've barely even touched the video capabilities...4k internal....i can't wait!

I have owned my A7Rii for over a year now. It has been quiet an experience and it still continues to amaze me how well this camera performs. From it's dynamic range to low light capabilities. Depending on the lens paired with the camera, it can be very compact and light. I personally uses Zeiss Batis 18mm, 25mm, and Loxia 50mm for the majority of the time. Sometimes with the 70-200 GM lens. I'm an amateur landscape and astrophotographer, but my images speaks volume for this cameras capabilities.

I would of given this camera a 5 star, but I am no too satisfied with with long exposures with higher ISO. This camera creates a lot of hot spots. I was hoping this camera would've been good for astrophotographry also and better than my 5D mkiii, but it's not. Great tool, just not the tool I was looking for right now. Thinking about returning this camera.

Finally, a capable replacement to my A99. Tank-like build, feels great in the hand. Superb dynamic range, and HIGH-ISO perfomance. Feel free to shoot 6400 safely! Resolution for MILES! IBIS and full-sensor PDAF are complete game changers. Sony has quickly produced quality FE lenses which make full use of the sensor, and will continue to do so. And A-mount users rejoice, don't sell your wares, with the LAEA3 adapter they work great. Canon/Nikon/Leica etc, adapter technology is quickly catching up, so fear not. Loses one star because adapted lenses do not work as fast or well as as native FE-mount lenses. And every new native lens will cost you an arm and leg. Recommend only if you can afford the inevitable future investments.
