Older camera, however, this takes amazing pictures. The autofocus is a bit slower, burst is limited to 5 fps, video face tracking is hit and miss. But for still crispy 42mp photos, you can’t beat the discounted price. The a7iii and a7c are fast and have touch screens for easier focus, but they also have less pixels for the composition. The a7iv and a1 would be amazing but getting a mortgage for hobby picture taking is a bit too much.

    Love Sony Mirrorless Cameras

After being a Nikon owner for decades I purchased the Sony a6000 when the mirrorless cameras came out and never again want to lug around a heavy DSLR camera. I've been waiting for the Sony a7R iii to go down in price and love the improved ergonomics along with the 43MB uncompressed or 86 compressed RAW file, which is why I wanted this camera. The only drawback is the short battery life and you will need several for a long shooting day which solves this issue.

Overall camera is good. Takes some really nice images when coupled with the right lense. See your images prior to shaping that pictures Here are some minor complaints Grip feels like it shout be a little bit bigger for more comfort. Autofocus is a bit slow. EVF stutters when ISO is bumped up. Battery life is not good

Great Camera. When used for pictures, this camera is the way to go. Footage that it shoots in 4k is just as stunning. Camera is capable of recording great video footage, but if you are looking at doing long periods of shooting I recommend a camera designed for that. The A7Rii is excellent for picking up that color you can't get on DSLR. I am in awe of Sony's amazing work, this is coming from a Canon guy.

42 megapixels is insanity, to top it off it does 4k video as well? This camera doesn’t have limits, usually i’d never shoot anything past 6400iso on a with peak of 52,000 but this camera makes me comfortable even shooting at 10,000 ISO. It is a well rounded camera and has so many features. I appreciate that it isn’t a touch screen because i personally always hated touch screens. I’ve had this camera for roughly 2,3 months now. Paired with a 24-70mm f4 and a crane 2 this camera is perfect for everything

This camera is excellent specially with you want to upgrade from a point and shut one. It's very easy to use and the pictures quality is overboard. The only down side is that the battery runs down very fast however it comes with two.

With the addition of the vertical grip, the body felt good in my large hands. I've been a Minolta/Konica/Sony A mount user for more than 40 years. This camera (with the LAEA4 adaptor) allowed me to use all of my old A mount glass. I was able to get high quality pics with this camera, that would have been difficult with my A77. Very pleased with my purchase, so far.

After a lot of reviewing between all the Sony Alpha cameras, found this to be the best camera based on - specs - my knowledge of photography (which was almost zero) - how much I was willing to pay Got this as an anniversary gift for my fiance and she absolutely loves it. The specs are great, the support for high quality video and a versatile range of lenses just made this the perfect camera body for us.

This camera takes beautiful pictures and has a very intuitive menu options and controls. As someone coming from a Nikon system, I find the controls quick, easy, and logical on this Sony. Making adjustments on the Nikon typically required several steps, but with the Sony menu, I can make most adjustments in one step. By the way, the camera also takes beautiful, high quality photos. The only reservations I have are that focusing can be slower than it is with the Nikon and less lens options are available.

I've had the Sony a77 and moved up to this camera. What a difference. I love that you can get the adapter and use all my older Ziess lenses and make them work. I've use both cameras (a77) and this one and taken the same shots and compared. You can zoom and crop forever. If you can afford to get the lens that are made for this camera. It's even better. 4K video is awesome too. Read all the reviews from the pros and get this camera. I can only repeat what they say about how great this thing is.
