So who is this camera actually FOR?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So who is this camera FOR? PROS: - Sony E-mount - APS-C sensor (crop sensor) - fully rotating screen for “selfie” holding - Rec tally light and boarder (optional settings) to make sure you’re recording - powered zoom lens that works with sony vlog kit remote - easy switch to S&Q mode (Slow mo or time lapse) only 120fps slow motion though - Image stabilization (digital) - Face and eye auto detect focus and continuous focus - USB C charging AND webcam/stream option plug and play - On board mic is actually usable (especially with the supplied wind screen) . It's not gonna be great but you can use it in a pinch. More on this below - Headphone out jack!! THANK YOU SONY! CONS: - Face softening, one touch background blur, and creative style. These are not BAD, they’re just usually not practical to use. Basically bloat - battery is a bit smaller, which means you need some spares for long days or a charger. - no EVF (view finder) BACKGROUND: Let me start by saying this is my 3rd Sony E-mount camera and officially gives me a “pro level big boy” a “smaller size high end shooter” and a “small travel size day to day shooter” that I can still trust to get good images and video with and all three use the same lenses and menus and accessories. If ever there was a good example of why you should stay in one ecosystem it’s sony E-mount. It allows you to grow and change without losing gear you already purchased. For ME this meant getting the ZV-E10 over the ZV1. The ability to use my lenses I already had was a big push but I still needed a smaller vlog style camera for out and about days when I didn’t want to carry over 3,000 dollars of heavy equipment for a basic walk n talk. If you don’t have or plan to have more sony camera gear or lenses you may want to get the similar ZV-1 that does not have removable lenses. UNBOXING AND FIRST IMPRESSION: So as I said, I’m not exactly new to Sony cameras and therefore, for me, it was pretty much business as usual when I opened that familiar orange box. I have the kit lens model so inside was the body and the 16-50mm powered zoom lens. Also inside is a strap, USB C charging cable and the usual paperwork. I charged the battery up and once it was full I started going over the menu and changing all the things I like to change and set in my Sony menu. Once I customized to my liking I started test shooting and thinking what uses I can get out of this body. SO WHO’S IT FOR?!! I feel like the biggest question around this camera has been who is this for. It’s branded as a VLOG camera, and that’s cool, but really that’s just a word we throw around now because it gets the attention of youtubers and vlogers and the likes. But what it means is this is a simplified version of a really really good camera brand at a price that is reasonable for the basic, intro user. This is geared towards people who don’t really know how to shoot manual or use pro gear but they want better quality than an iphone video. That doesn’t mean people who DO know what they’re doing should pass on this. Like me, this is a great camera for pro use too and it’s basically the same guts as their high end lines. What it DOES do is give room for those newbies to grow and still be a useful camera as they learn and try to get off that auto setting. If you are trying to up your VLOG game or you want to get better at shooting photos and videos or both, this is definitely the camera for you. If you see yourself growing and you’re ok buying more lenses and accessories for your camera, this is definitely the camera for you. If you think you’ll never buy another lens and you plan to use your camera once every couple months, maybe get the zv1 or a small point and shoot. The benefit to the ZVE10 more than anything is the e-mount. This will open your world to higher quality and an amazing range of good sony glass to get just the right image. In my opinion, that is worth the upgrade vs the V1. TECHNICAL GOODIES: So if you got this far, you’ve probably decided this may be the camera for you. So what can it do? A lot. Let’s start with the VLOG aspects since that is Sony’s target audience. Can you take this thing, out of the box, and start vlogging down the street? Absolutely. It won’t magically be awesome quality, but it will automatically already be better than stuff you see from phones, or low quality gear. The on board microphone on this camera is actually really good. Like impressively good for an onboard camera. Usually I would say NEVER use the mic on a camera body for so many reasons, and the ZV-E10 isn’t completely different, but it actually can be used in a pinch and with a touch of work in post, you can have a good audio quality. At least for a youtube video. In reality, for me, I will use the onboard as a backup in case the main mic drops out, bad sound, etc. But if I was making a quick video for home use, I 100% would be ok with the on board mic, something I can’t say about any of my other Sony bodies. Throw the dead cat (wind filter) on and you don’t have to worry about wind noise either. I was hoping to shoot some video examples but I have run out of time but I’m sure there are examples on the internet somewhere to show you how the mic works. Here’s the best part though, as you grow and want to use a better mic you still can. With a mic input AND headphone out, you can use any other mic including a sony shotgun mount on the hot shoe or other accessories they offer and still be able to monitor in real time with the headphone jack. This really is an ALL IN ONE VLOG camera set up. Image quality has been just as good as audio quality. For video, there is rolling shutter, this has been beaten to the ground, but here’s the thing; if you’re shooting video moving so fast that you see the rolling shutter, then you’re shooting the wrong way. Slow your movements, compose your shots, and use a lower shutter speed and you won’t have the dreaded rolling shutter issues you may have seen complained about. Photos come out sharp and clean and the crop sensor really shows it’s skills over the older ZV1 which had a smaller sensor. The APSC sensor in the ZVE10 is the same as the 6000 series, one of sony's most respected line of camera bodies, and when I put on some higher end lenses, I was able to get just as good shots with this smaller camera as I can with my 6600. A Sony 50mm f1.8 performs amazing in controlled situations and I shot portraits that I would still be willing to show to clients. That’s saying something for a budget friendly VLOG camera!! VLOG style shooting was just as easy to use, and the screen flipping around to “selfie” mode was very useful. I have the Sony remote I THINK they now call “VLOGER KIT” but it’s a bluetooth remote and small tripod with some button controls. This includes zoom control that works with the kit lens’ power zoom and the record button for video or photo, all at your fingertips. There is even a custom button. If you’re serious about your VLOG work and you need a good handle but can’t afford an expensive gimbal yet, you should look into the sony remote, it’s really useful and Best Buy also sells it. One last thought on my VLOG test, the REC tally light was useful but I eventually decided to turn off the red border on the display because it felt like too much and was a little distracting. Also if you crank the stabilization settings, you will crop in a considerable amount. So you may want to consider using medium or none and fix any shake later in post production where you have more control over crop and the likes. Also the stabilization is digital, so essentially it is just doing what your post processing software is doing anyway but with less control in camera. OVERALL: I really like what Sony is doing with this Z-V series and I don’t think this is so much an update to the ZV1 as much as a second option in the same class. They are both great cameras with different features based on your needs. If you found yourself agreeing with me through this excessively long review, then you probably want to get the ZV-E10 but if you think that sounds like too much, go for the V1, sure. But remember they are about the same cost, if you see yourself growing in this field and want to really get involved in cameras and shooting, then get the E10. You’ll have an amazing starter camera that will grow with you for years and years. Or if you’re a pro level shooter and looking for something small and cheap that you can bring around but still want your pro options, this is also great and will work with all that glass and accessories you already spent money on!

Almost everything I wanted
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So... why did I pick up the ZVE10? Wouldn't my phone camera be enough? Probably. But I wanted the ability to have a more professional setup for some creative content that I plan on recording and some vlogging on outings, and hopefully international traveling in the future. It also had to be portable, light, and customizable. It had been a while since I had a dedicated camera for photos and videos; the last was an old DSLR a few years ago that I had to sell to pay for school supplies. So when the ZVE10 came out, I knew that I had to give it a try and compare it to the ZV1. So wait... hold up... you have the ZV1 at hand and wanted the ZVE10 too? Why? To give you a solid answer, I wanted to compare the use cases when choosing one over the other and why the ZVE10 won me over. Here's my breakdown of the ZVE10 as someone "new" to the mirrorless camera scene: ------------------------------------------ PRO: ------------------------------------------ - Product showcase setting: probably the biggest game-changer against all other cameras out there. Once turned on, the camera can automatically change focus from the subject to the closer object, which was always the issue with other cameras. This was a feature that I desperately needed when doing creative content and needed to showcase the tools I was using. - Rotating 3" LCD touch screen: other cameras had a stop screen view which the dead cat would have blocked. It is perfect for taking high and low shots. I also like that the screen frame turns red to notify that it is recording - The color profile is top-notch - The kit lens (16-50mm) is a great starter lens for someone new to the camera world. honestly would probably be my default lens for now - E-Mount: Switching lenses is easy (although the lenses can end up being heavier than the camera body) - A much better grip than the ZV1 - Dedicated ON/OFF switch (on the ZV1, it can be hidden when you have the dead cat on) - Better video processing - For the price point, the image quality is superb - Stills are great even though this is primarily for vlogging, I use the Sony E50mm/F1.8 OSS for up-close still and it's flawless USB streaming (720p), great for streaming and conference calls - Clear Image Zoom - Dedicated background blurring button - Audio quality is crystal clear and even better with the dead cat to reduce wind noise when shooting outdoors - 3.5mm input jack for external mic and headphones for recording ------------------------------------------ CONS: ------------------------------------------ - No sensor stabilization - Rolling shutter could use a lot of improvement, not a big deal on a tripod, but if you're shooting video while walking or doing anything in action, you'll notice the difference during 4k. Which I've read is pretty common with CMOS sensor cameras, so it's nothing new - Camera menus are uninspiring (this is across the board with all cameras, so if you haven't used a DSLR before, it can get confusing) - No built-in flash would need a dedicated external flash for low-light settings. - No electronic viewfinder - LCD touchscreen has very limiting functions - No, rear lens cap for kit lens or body cap (probably my biggest grip in terms of hardware provided) ------------------------------------------ External gear I recommend getting: ------------------------------------------ - Sony GP-VPT2BT Bluetooth Shooting Grip with Wireless Remote Commander. Although the grip on the ZVE10 is a big improvement to the ZV1, the remote makes recording and shooting a lot easier. I love that it is also a tripod and easy to carry. - As for lenses, I'm still exploring but the kit lenses and Sony E50mm/F1.8 OSS are pretty good to start So that's all great and all, but what's the final verdict? Personally, as I plan to expand in this field, learning about the full capabilities, changing lenses, and taking amazing stills, the ZVE10 is perfect for me. But if I wanted something more pocketable for travel, I'd probably take the ZV1. Overall, if I had to sum up, if Sony ZV1 and Sony a6100 had a child, ZVE10 would be it.

Excellent Camera for Content Creators & Beginners
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been really impressed with how easy it is to use this Sony ZV-E10 for content recording. The camera is also relatively small and lightweight which has made it extremely practical for on the go content. While I've mainly used the camera to record in various lighting conditions and locations, pictures are also absolutely stunning! I'm by no means a professional photographer (but want better quality footage than what a smartphone can produce) so I really appreciate a lot of the features that Sony packed into this camera in order to automatically optimize my recorded content and pictures without having to make a lot of complicated adjustments. I also love the idea of having interchangeable lens on a compact vlog camera. As I get more serious about sharing my hobbies on content media platforms, I really appreciate that I have a wide option of image capture capabilities while at the same time getting professional grade image quality without having to go for a much more serious camera. I've listed some of the pros and cons below that I encountered while using this camera indoors and outdoors in various lighting conditions. =============================== PROS: +1080p 120fps or 4k 30fps recording +Interchangeable lens +Decent three capsule onboard microphone (included wind muff seems to actually help with mitigating wind noise) +Incredibly fast auto focus! I cannot stress how good it is +Dedicated button for background defocus (quickly blurs background to focus on subject) +Dedicated button for product showcase (extremely convenient if youre recording yourself showcasing a product. It will automatically shift the focus from your face to the object you're showcasing) +Fully articulated flip out screen for when youre vlogging +Big red border on the screen AND a tally light to immediately let me know when I'm recording +Jack for external microphone +USB-C + USB streaming mode makes this a great livestream cam and a much better option than traditional streaming webcams +Micro HDMI output to connect to a TV or external display +Headphone jack to monitor audio +Intelligent Auto (scene recognition) did a great job of brightening up my face when going from brighter lighting conditions to lower lighting conditions +Ability to quickly transfer videos and pictures from the camera to my phone or tablet with Sony's Imaging Edge Mobile App +The help guide on Sony's site for this camera is extremely useful and simple +Easy to navigate on screen menu =============================== CONS: -No electronic viewfinder -No weather sealing - Respectable battery life but a little on the shorter side (I got a little over 2 hours when recording...although this isn't a problem indoors if you keep it plugged in and charging with a USB-C cable or if you carry a battery bank with you on the go) -Active stabilization ON results in a significant crop (I found a good solution for this was to record my videos with stabilization off and then render my videos through Sony's free catalyst browse software to stabilize my videos there instead. This resulted in the smooth footage I wanted without the crop!) - No 4k 60 recording Overall, I think this camera is perfectly suited for social media content creators, product unboxing/review videos, tutorial videos, streamers, and on the go vloggers who want serious image quality but don't have an extensive background with photography equipment and settings. I also think the Sony vlogger accessory kit for this camera is a must and I can't recommend it enough. Incredibly convenient wireless grip with quick access buttons for on the go and also converts to a small stable tripod. If you're someone looking for a new camera that records great videos and takes some good stills but don't want to break the bank, definitely give this one a shot!

Great Camera for Beginners and Experienced Alike!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very difficult review to write. Not because the Sony Alpha ZV-E10 Mirrorless Vlog Camera with 16-50mm Lens is a poor camera, (it most certainly is NOT a poor camera), but because I am having difficulty in determining from which angle I want to approach this review…from that of a vlogger, (which is why I got it), or from the view of a photographer, (which was the secondary reason I jumped at the opportunity to get this camera). Since I was looking for a vlog camera, I will write the review from that perspective. But since vlogging does indeed involve photography (and I am not a professional photographer in any sense of the word), there will be times the worlds of vlogging and photography intersect in this review. Out of the box, the ZV-E10 comes with the “E PZ” 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS zoom lens, which is a Sony e-mount lens, AC adapter, rechargeable battery, shoulder strap, and a windscreen. The ZV-E10 is an interchangeable lens camera. I have to point out that I also got the Sony Vlogger Kit and the Sony SEL50F18 E50mm, F1.8 OSS lens. To be quite frank, like most vloggers I was comfortable with using my smart phone as the primary means to film vlog videos. After all, a selfie-stick and it’s show time. But I soon came to realize how extremely limited my options were with that type of setup. So when I began to explore the ZV-E10, I was a bit intimidated. This is not a one-setting-does-it-all camera. But Sony put together an absolutely amazing online PDF user’s manual which made the learning curve quite minimal. In fact, it is to their credit that they were quite intuitive to the many questions users might have, and subsequently supplied quite an easy-to-search, easy-to-understand format. They deserve 10 stars for this alone. I spent the first evening just going through the menu options, and test shooting a few photos to get a feel of the camera. The first thing I noticed was how easy it is to switch from still photos to video mode… just a push of a button. There are over 30 different menu screens with tons of options to choose from on each menu item. But again, anticipating that many beginners would purchase this camera, there is what they call “Intelligent Auto” shooting mode which does all the work for you. In my experimentation with the ZV-E10, I found this mode was able to handle 90% of all my shooting needs. With a quick read of the appropriate section in the aforementioned user’s manual, it was quite straightforward to get through the other 10%. Now this leads me to this point. Because the ZV-E10 is not a simple cell phone vlogging tool, it would have been foolish to get it for a simple point-and-shoot vlogging camera with the intention of doing all the work later using a computer software program. This is a sophisticated camera, and it is well worth ALL the effort to learn the different controls and settings to take care of all the “hard work” upfront. Even though I spent the first evening exploring the camera, I felt compelled to go outside and take a few night shots. I had heard that the ZV-E10 is a very good low-light camera, and I wanted to see what it can do. I live in a rural setting with very little light pollution, and I have been amazed at the number of stars I have been able to see with the naked eye. But nothing prepared me for what I was about to experience with the ZV-E10! As you can see by the photos, well, they tell all the story that needs to be told! I was dumbfounded and amazed by this camera’s ability. And this is a good spot to point out that the Sony ZV-E10 is a 4K camera, which makes for extraordinary results! The next day I decided to try it out in the brightness of a sunny day. Using several of the camera settings, I was again amazed at the clarity and brilliance of the ZV-E10’s performance. But for the important part (to me)…the vlogging aspect. As I stated earlier, I also got the Sony Vlogging Kit as well as the additional lens…both of which I put to use. The vlogging kit comes with a wireless remote shooting grip (as well as a 64GB memory card). This was quite handy since the ZV-E10 itself does not come with any memory card at all. The shooting grip has five function controls: 1. Photo mode 2. Movie mode 3. Background Defocus mode 4. Zoom mode, and 5. Lock mode. The lock mode is a lifesaver as it keeps you from inadvertently messing up a shot by switching settings…that is, once you have the remote set, you lock the settings, and you’re ready to shoot. IMPORTANT: The shooting grip connects to the camera via Bluetooth. In order to set it up, you have to go through a pairing process. I was unable to get the two to connect, and was really super disappointed that Sony would produce such a poorly designed device. BUT THEN…after CAREFULLY rereading the instructions, I discovered you must first go to the second screen of the “Network” menu and make sure the “Bluetooth Rmt Ctrl” is set to “On.” Worked like a charm after that! As I walked around downtown, doing test vlogs, I intentionally put myself in various situations. From crowded stores and restaurants to the quietness of a bookstore. I was a bit concerned about the background noise that might be heard when I was recording in the crowded situations, and was looking forward to reviewing these when I got home. I also experimented with several different lighting scenarios from full outside sun to low-light interior settings. I made full use of the shooting grip during these practice situations. Here is what I discovered. In every single scene, the video was extraordinary. This is indeed a truly versatile low-light camera. Without making any adjustments (using Intelligent Auto mode), I was able to make sudden changes in different lighting conditions with very few adverse affects on the video quality. There was a bit of noticeable transition as I went from bright outside to low-light interior and vice-versa, but it would be the same for any camera under similar conditions, so this is most certainly not a negative. One of the neatest things (IMHO) is what they call “Product Showcase Setting.” This lets you hold up a product you are showcasing and it automatically focuses on the product while defocusing the background. This lets you NOT worry about stopping and having to focus on the product and then refocus on yourself. It worked in every single instance. The audio (using only the onboard microphone) was at times difficult to make out, but this was only in those situations where there was a tremendous amount of background noise and chatter. I was still able to hear my own voice, but not as clearly as I could under low-noise locations. The supplied wind filter worked quite well and eliminated almost all wind noise. However, I was surprised that any time I used the “Zoom” function while recording video, it was distractingly noticeable, and interfered with the main audio. It made the lens sound clunky. I was able to connect the audio to my podcast recorder and craft some crazy great sound effects as well as amazing overall sound quality. The next “test” came with the SEL50F18 E50mm, F1.8 OSS lens. I was able to quickly and effortlessly change lenses on the ZV-E10. Just a push of the button, a little twist, and off comes the lens. Then line up the dots (white dot on the lens to the white dot on the camera body), snap into place, a quick twist and it’s ready to go. How truly easy changing lenses on this camera turned out to be! Again, thank you, Sony! The Final Analysis: Out of the box, the Sony ZV-E10 is ready to go, UNLESS you don’t have an appropriate memory card, then you will have to buy one. There is no onboard memory storage. When the camera is set to Intelligent Auto mode, you truly are ready to go. I SERIOUSLY recommend the Sony Vlogger Kit to make vlogging a lot easier. Although the camera does have image stabilization, stepping up and down curbs, stairs, and rocky terrain does tax this ability a bit which is greatly amplified when simply holding the camera in your hand, and not using the shooting grip included with the vlogger kit. If you are going to invest in the ZV-E10, then by all means spend a little extra and get the Vlogger Kit. The Intelligent Auto mode is not the answer for ALL shooting conditions, so you absolutely must become familiar with at least the basic focusing functions of the camera, such as ISO settings, f-stops, etc. There is a small learning curve to understanding how these settings affect shots, but as I said earlier, the results are well-worth the effort. I emphasize this as there were a few instances when the Intelligent Auto actually interfered with a good shot, especially in nighttime shooting. But I was able to overcome this by being able to make manual adjustments to the camera settings. PROS: 4K Bluetooth enabled Online Tutorial Intelligent Auto Sound clarity Relatively easy learning curve Adjustable viewing screen Interchangeable lenses Available accessories (like the Vloggers Kit) All the available online videos and other help resources Lightweight design The ability to make changes to the camera setup to handle any and all shooting conditions Amazing professional-like results The ability to connect to other devices while shooting. CONS: No supplied memory card Super noisy telephoto adjustment clearly picked up by audio The Bluetooth setup procedure was a bit vague, creating a lot of frustration No included software to work with the photos and videos Would I recommend the Sony ZV-E10? A resounding, absolutely positive YES! Yes! Yes! Yes! I cannot stress what a remarkable camera the ZV-E10 is. For anyone wanting to take their vlogging talents to the next several levels, this is THE camera to buy.

A Game Changer
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a content creator for both YouTube videos and a video podcast, finding the right camera was crucial. The Sony Alpha ZV-E10 Kit with the 16-50mm lens has been nothing short of a revelation for our production. The image quality is superb. Whether shooting in well-lit studios or in more challenging light conditions, the clarity and color accuracy this camera delivers are outstanding. The autofocus feature deserves a special mention – it's incredibly quick and accurate, ensuring that our shots are always sharp and professional-looking. For vlogging and podcasting, audio quality is just as important as the visuals. The built-in microphone of the ZV-E10 impresses with its clear sound capture, and it's been a breeze integrating it with our existing audio setup. The flip-out screen is another feature that I've found incredibly useful, especially when filming myself. It makes framing and monitoring shots so much easier. The camera's compact size and lightweight design are big pluses. It's easy to handle and carry around, which is perfect for on-location shoots. Battery life has been more than adequate for our needs, and the ability to charge via USB is a convenient feature. Since incorporating the Sony Alpha ZV-E10 into our workflow, we've noticed a significant uptick in subscriber engagement and listener feedback. It's clear that the enhanced video and audio quality have resonated with our audience. To sum it up, the Sony Alpha ZV-E10 has been a vital tool in elevating the potential of my podcast. It offers fantastic video and audio quality, user-friendly features, and a compact form factor, making it an ideal choice for podcasters and YouTubers alike. Highly recommended for anyone looking to step up their content creation game!

Great camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disclaimer that i am not a pro, just a mom having fun. Ive never been more motivated to use a camera like this. I had a panasonic in the past, never figured out how to use it. Decided to upgrade to this sony one. And i love the S&Q feauture i am able to create cute fun videos for myself and social media friends. I like the size of this camera, the interchangeabke lens, and the many accesory options out there. The menu (once learned) is very simple to maneuver. I like the quick access to changing the settings in this camera. I use human/animal detection alot. I am starting to play around with the filters as well. I am learning how to fully articulate the manual settings, but when i need a quick shot i can easily switch to aperture or shoot. If i am really in a rut and unsure what i should do with my settings, i can change it to intelligent auto mode which gives me a better still outcome than i would have done. I think this camera is wonderful in low light settings. I take a ton of indoor family shots in my home. The battery as i have experience with many cameras, is crap. So i have ordered backup batteries to change out when needed. My favorite feature is the small but not too small size of this device. I use the kit lens quite often. When i want more portrait style photos ill switch it to sonys 30mm, to give a great bokeh effect. Im learning this camera jargon. I did watch many youtube videos when i received this too, so you must do your homework if you truly want the full sony camera zv-e10 experience

Great Vlogging Camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony Alpha ZV-E10 is a great camera choice for vloggers. I have been using my smartphone for recording my YouTube videos until I got this camera. The phone did an okay job, but was missing a lot of features to really make vlogging easier and look and sound better. I’ve been trying out the ZV-E10 and as I’m learning how to use it, I’m really liking it. My favorite vlogging feature is the product showcase setting. With the setting turned on, the camera quickly and seamlessly changes focus from me to the product I’m holding up in the frame. As soon as I move the product out of frame, the focus is right back on me. This is so helpful when I’m showing my viewers something. It keeps what I want in focus and the transition is practically instantaneous. Although I wish there was a viewfinder on this camera, the digital screen is sized as well as can be while keeping the camera small enough to carry around without too much fatigue. The screen can be flipped to virtually any position for easy viewing. It is a little hard to see clearly while outside in direct sunlight however. The camera has an extensive menu so that you can leave things on automatic or manual or somewhere in between. It really gives you a lot of options to work with. You can also blur out the background for great portraits with just the push of a button. The camera comes with a 16-50mm power zoom lens. You also have the capability to switch out that lens with any Sony E-mount lens, and there are loads of accessories you can use on the hot shoe mount. The microphone is flush with the top of the camera to reduce wind noise. You can also use the provided furry wind blocker to cut down on wind noise even more. It slides into the shoe mount and puts a furry little blanket over the microphone. The sound quality is good enough for me, but if it wasn’t, I could just put the external microphone of my choice on top. There are 3.5mm jacks on the side of the camera for microphone and headphones. There is also a USB-C jack and mini HDMI jack. I have my camera attached to the (sold separately) Sony GP-VPT2BT Bluetooth Shooting Grip with Wireless Remote Commander. This makes recording videos even easier because I can access the record button from the front of the camera instead of having to go behind the camera and get resituated after starting to record. It’s easy to tell when you’re recording too, because a red rectangle appears around the border of the screen during recording. I can also use my smartphone with the Sony Imaging Edge Mobile app to remotely control my camera. I’m so happy to not have to un-mic/re-mic and go back and forth between being in front of the camera and behind the camera! Images and video are recorded onto an SD card. I can transfer images to my computer by removing the card or via Wi-fi. Wi-fi takes a long time to transfer videos, but it's there in a pinch. The camera comes with the Sony NP-FW50 rechargeable battery, which so far has lasted long enough to not run out during recording. I am in love with this camera and can't wait to use it more and more!

Sony ZV-E10
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am in love with the Sony ZV-E10 camera. I was nervous to invest in a camera, so it took me months to make a decision, and now I am so happy. It is so practical and versatile. Videos AND photos come out beautiful even with just the kit lens. It is very easy to use, and I love how it is also able to have interchangeable lenses that can take your photos or videos to another level.

Best budget friendly camera for streaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this camera after seeing several positive reviews online for it as being an easy to use/ budget friendly/ online vlogger approved professional camera. I use it all the time for family outings as well as streaming online. The picture quality is crisp and also handles long stretches of being on using the optional dc power plug. Def recommend this camera for purchase.

vlog camera and more
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent selfie vlog camera, handheld or tripod both works. Excellent still photo camera too. With option to use different lens, you can have more creative footage. Very good still and video image quality due to the large aps-c sensor, intelligent image processor and very nice lens. However, it is not a run and gun video camera due to its very noticeable rolling shutter jello effect. If you need to pan, you have to do it very slowly at least 7 seconds per frame. Shooting spot event at close range also a no no. Auto focus has always been Sony strong area and this camera can focus very fast and very accurately. Object tracking, face and eye detection works excellently. I especially like the product showcase feature; it can quickly focus on the object held in front of the camera and then quickly focus back on your face. It is beginner friendly too, you can start shooting immediately out of the box using the default setting and there is even a button for blurring the background. Experience user can just use aperture priority or full manual. The onboard microphone provides pretty good quality sound so no need to use external mic. Beside the rolling shutter jello effect, recording while zoom will capture the zoom noise. Also, if you have fat finger, it takes some effort to remove the SD card. Battery life is decent but if you shooting outside, better bring extra battery. Another item you will need is ND filter if it is too bright outside.

Very Solid Camera
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is a fantastic entry point for any real estate professional looking to elevate their video content. Out of the box, it’s remarkably intuitive—menus are straightforward, and the touchscreen makes navigating settings a breeze, even if you’re juggling keys and staging props on a shoot. Pair it with a sharp E-mount lens—something in the 16–35mm range for interior walkthroughs or a 30mm prime for detail shots—and you’ll get crisp, vibrant footage that highlights every angle of a property. For real estate work, its autofocus is a real game-changer. The subject-tracking stays locked on your client or key focal point as you walk through rooms, so you can focus on framing instead of chasing focus points. It also handles low-light interiors impressively well; bumping up the ISO doesn’t produce the grainy mess you might expect, which means fewer “re-shoots” and more efficient use of your time on site. However, if you’re shooting in 4K and want those silky-smooth, cinematic 24- or 60-fps b-roll clips, you will hit some limits. You’ll see a slight crop and reduced stabilization at higher frame rates, so consider using an external gimbal or adding in-camera stabilization in post. Battery life is solid for short neighborhood tours, but if you’re doing back-to-back open houses, grab an extra battery or two. On balance, though, its combination of usability, image quality, and autofocus performance makes this camera a workhorse for any budding real estate videographer.

An impressive camera for vlogging and photography
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, to start with, I have some background in photography and videography, but vlogging is something I’m relatively new to. Like most people, I started out using my phone, and quickly found myself wanting to do things that it just couldn’t handle very well. Enter the Sony ZV-E10. I’ve been playing around with this camera for about a week and have been blown away by the quality of its vlogging features. To start with, Intelligent Auto does exactly what it says. It automatically (and quickly) detects the type of scene that you’re trying to shoot, from landscapes to portraits to macro. It swiftly adjusts to changes in lighting conditions, and the autofocus is among the best I’ve seen. The Product Showcase feature is amazing. I recorded a video of myself making modifications to a circuit board and when bringing something up to the camera, it immediately focuses on it with no extra fuss or needed adjustments. This feature does have some trouble if it can still see your face and tends to stay focused on you if it can see you. Audio quality is surprisingly high. You can easily use the built-in mic if you want to avoid additional equipment, and get very passable results, though a goo external mic through the 3.5mm jack will still outperform it. The included wind shield does a great job. As a stills camera, it takes phenomenal shots, even in very low light situations, with grain free results with the included lens. You can leave it on automatic or dial in the settings yourself, just like any other high-quality model. I was personally just planning to use this for vlogging, but I can see it replacing my old Pentax DSLR once I pick up another couple of e-mount lenses. The included 16-50mm lens has a very smooth rate of transition, and the image stabilization is great, drastically reducing motion blur. It collapses to just under 30mm when retracted, which makes it a super portable and a great choice for pairing with the body. Get the kit that includes it if you don’t already have comparable e-mount lenses. I also tested Sony’s E35mm F1.8 lens, which is just an amazing all-around stills lens with professional results. Photography will always be a part of vlogging. Sometimes you need great product or location stills, and the ability to switch lenses or add filters on the fly makes this invaluable over all-in-one options, in my opinion. PC connectivity is a no-brainer. Just plug it in via the included USB-C cable and copy your photos. It has a USB Streaming function if you want to use it as a webcam, but it does seem to still encounter some battery drain, so don’t expect it to be always-on in that scenario. There are PC apps available, but I didn’t really see any benefit to using them. The mobile apps, however, offer a great way to wirelessly import your photos/videos to your Apple or Android phone. The battery takes several hours to charge, even with a high wattage charger. Consider picking up spares if you have long shooting sessions. Also, if you're the walk-n-talk type of vlogger, definitely pick up the shooting grip. The ZV-E10 isn't uncomfortable to hold by any means, but the grip feels more natural and the controls are more easily accessible. Ultimately, while the camera does have an array of fantastic features, the biggest one is that it just works. All of the automatic adjustments do what they’re supposed to do, and it streamlines the entire experience. You can pick it up and just run with it, which saves a ton of time dialing in settings. You can still do that if you’re looking to get the perfect shot, but when you’re on the go and just need your equipment to work, the ZV-E10 is ready for whatever you’ve got to throw at it, and that’s possibly it’s most valuable feature.

Sony ezv10 review from tam
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy is a reputable and trustworthy retailer. They often have good bundle deals (body + kit lens) and extended warranty service (Geek Squad Protection) if you want greater peace of mind in the long run. If you want a flexible, high-quality, and easy-to-use camera for vlogging and content creation, the Sony ZV-E10 is an extremely powerful and highly rated choice."

The Sony ZV-E10 is absolutely perfect!!!!!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony Alpha ZV-E10 — A Game-Changer for Content Creators The Sony Alpha ZV-E10 is hands down one of the best cameras in its class for creators, vloggers, and even aspiring filmmakers. It brings together the power of mirrorless performance and creator-focused features in a compact, affordable package — and it doesn’t disappoint. Image & Video Quality With a 24.2MP APS-C sensor, the ZV-E10 delivers crisp, detailed photos and beautiful 4K video with stunning depth of field. It handles low light impressively well, and the real-time Eye AF and Face Tracking make staying in focus effortless — even when you’re moving around. Skin tones look natural, and you get that gorgeous background blur that elevates your content instantly. Audio Performance One of the standout features is the directional 3-capsule mic with windscreen included. It captures clear, high-quality audio, perfect for vlogging without needing to buy an external mic right away. Of course, it also supports external mics via the 3.5mm jack if you want to level up your sound even more. User-Friendly Design Sony really designed this camera with creators in mind. The fully articulating flip-out screen makes it ideal for self-recording, and the one-touch background defocus, product showcase mode, and tally light are all thoughtful features that make filming easier and more professional-looking. Connectivity & Streaming Need to go live? The ZV-E10 doubles as a plug-and-play streaming camera via USB — no capture card needed. It works great for Zoom, YouTube Live, and Twitch. You also get Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for easy file transfer to your phone or remote control with the Sony Imaging Edge app. Battery Life & Extras The battery life is decent for its size, and it supports USB-C charging while in use, which is a lifesaver for long shoots or livestreams. Pair it with a tripod grip like the Sony GP-VPT2BT, and you have an ultra-portable, all-in-one rig.
