This would have been Excellent if the face display would adjust automatically to a brighter level in the daylight or brighter morning hours. I adjust it down to a good nighttime level brightness (at full level its to bright for me, but that level in the morning is not bright enough to see with the mirror face, well, at least for me to see from across the room, but barring that it sounds great and alarm radio sound comes up slowly at alarm (very nice, old alarm radio came on at full level) it has two alarm settings - 0ne for weekday setting (work) and you can have a weekend setting (early morning Hockey practice). It has a USB charger which is nice and the overhead projector is a nice feature, that I was not sure I would use, but like it.

It's a Sony so you can be assured its going to be a great product. Compact with clear sound. The face has a clear reflective mirror quality. I use this on my desk in my office & several coworkers have commented on it. Add this to your cart

I bought this clock for my mother in law so that she could see the time projected on the ceiling at night. It works as advertised.

Dual alarm, weekday-weekend settings for both, ceiling time projection. Great clock. My only criticism is that I don't think it's very attractive.

This alarm clock is small enough so that it does not take up too much space on the table yet the numbers on the display are big enough so that you can see the time from a distance.

We have been looking for a small radio/clock/alarm clock to put in the bathroom where there is limited space. Came across this one while looking for something else at Best Buy and thought it might work because it was small. Turned out the clock is easy to read and the alarm works well. Not only that, but the radio is easy to use and for a micro unit puts out fairly good sound for the limited area. All in all we are very happy and would recommend it to anyone with the same needs.

This thing does everything that it says it does. My only complaint is simply that when looking at all of these different available radios, you have to pick and choose from features and there isn't one that has it all! I selected this one because it had a slightly larger speaker and a USB charging port. However the other Sony had a 1/8" input jack. I just wish this one could have had that too! Overall it works fine though and I'm satisfied.

My old Sony dual alarm clock bit the dust and I needed a new one! Was happy to find this model -- still having the dual alarms and it is smaller than my old one. I didn't find this very hard to set up and I really like the fact that the numbers/time on the clock can be dimmed.

Disappointed that I cannot set the projection to come on automatically every night. Overall, I really like the clock and love the projector, but I would like to see an update of an automatic projection, then it would be perfect.

It's a nice compact size. The buttons to set the alarms are really small and you have to be careful. It's easy to set, but you can accidentally change the setting if you touch them. Don't have the advantage to check what time the alarm is set for. But the time is very easy to read and see and also that the alarm is set. Basically pretty easy to use.

This is one of the best bedside table alarm clocks. Most, including this insist on using blue or white LEDs or back lighting inconsistent with bedroom sleep facilitation- too bright. The dimming feature on this model is excellent (3 steps to black out). The LASER projector in Red laser-light is the best for nighttime. Very small footprint for night stand location. And separate antenna (the legacy embed antenna in the power line zip-cord had poor reception and lots of noise/60 Hz artifacts). AM/FM bands and pre-recorded nature tones are nice. Maybe Weather band or WiFi for internet stations would be a consideration for future offerings.

    Projection Model vs. Base

If you're shopping for an alarm clock in 2022, then the odds are that you either find your phone alarm ineffective or are looking to cut down on your screen time. You might also be comparing this projector model (the Sony ICF-C1PJ) to its far less expensive brother (the Sony ICF-C1) which runs about $24 at the time of writing and comes in black, without the ugly projector appendage on the side. I initially purchased the cheaper, basic version but I was forced to return it because I found the volume didn't blast high enough to rouse me out of a deep sleep. After digging around and comparing some obscure online reviews, it seemed that the PJ version might have significantly higher max volume (15-20 db). After getting the PJ model, it does seem to be significantly louder---at least for the radio, I'm not entirely sure about the buzzer. Sony clearly thinks the selling point of the PJ model is the projector, but its really small improvements like this that differentiate it from the base model. I've seen reviews complaining that the "back up battery" touted in the base model doesn't actually mean that the alarm will go off in power outage, just that the clock will remember the time when AC power is restored. This seems to have been improved in the PJ model, whose manual touts the "No Power, No Problem" system and says the alarm will go off even during an outage. The base model manual, read closely, does not make this guarantee. The PJ model also adds a variety of nature sounds you can fall asleep to on a timer; the base model only has a sleep timer for the radio. Aside from these functional differences, the models are largely identical with a few aesthetic changes like buttons substituted for dials, and a more sleek and informative screen on the PJ model. I would say the PJ is nicer looking, but I think the projector is ugly and useless. But if you really want to have this thing shine the time onto your ceiling or wall, it will do it. Personally, I think the projector was added just to try to differentiate this version from the base model and make it seem like an "upgraded" rather than "fixed" version. That doesn't mean the PJ isn't the better model, however, and I'm fine with paying more to guarantee I will get woken up in the morning. I've had cheap alarm clocks, which I don't trust, and a Lofti: an elegant but unreliable piece of garbage whose developers break it with their updates. If all you really want in life is a clock that will you up reliably, I think the Sony PJ model is a solid choice. There are also some nice features and design touches shared between the PJ and base models. Both are relatively compact, both have sleep timers for the radio, and the button to turn off the alarm is small and slightly recessed on both models, which makes it hard to groggily cancel the alarm and immediately fall asleep again. The snooze button, by contrast, is large, prominent, and raised. The snooze also has a rather nifty feature: tap it once to snooze for 10 minutes, or keep tapping it to add 10 more minutes to the snooze with each tap. The clock will show you how many minutes you are setting the snooze for. So if you really need to be up, you can hit it once for a 10 minute snooze; if you're not on a tight schedule that morning, you can hit it three times and take a luxurious 30 minutes uninterrupted. I've seen other reviewers complain about this feature, since it opens the possibility of groggily adding too much time to the snooze. Understandable, but I absolutely LOVE this feature. Having the flexibility to decide the length of your snooze on any given day is really nice, and the system is intuitive enough to use easily when you're groggy.

I needed a new alarm clock. Yes I know I have a cell phone but I am old school about this. I looked at numerous reviews before making my purchase. This one was not on my list. I was looking at the one right next to it. But... something called from that little square box. My choice was right. It takes up very little space. The sound is good and it is accurate. What more can I ask? Easy to see at night.2 separate alarms. Tomorrow nite is the test we change to daylight savings. Fingers crossed. Anyway, I am very happy with my purchase.
