I got this Sony alarm clock with all the functionalities of the Dream Machine for less than $20. The setup was super easy because it already came with CR2032 backup battery in it and defaulted to eastern standard timezone. Just needed to set the month/day/year and current time and whether you wanted automatic DST after powering it for the first time.

It looks nice, performs well and suited my purposes. The only drawback is the radio quality is basic to the point of unusable so it would have been better still to have Bluetooth capabilities but if you already own a high quality sound system and simply want a nice looking alarm clock, this is an excellent option.

Also the alarm is not very loud so I wouldn’t recommend for heavy sleeper but so far it’s awaken me every time (using the radio that I can adjust the volume) as a backup
