Excellent Alarm!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's become hard to find a basic radio alarm clock but this is a fine model. The radio reception is quite good even for the preferred lower power local Public Broadcasting we prefer to wake up to.

Great alarm clock but built cheaply
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this alarm clock, which is why I'm giving it one star. It is small, so it doesn't take much space. The alarm is soft, so it wakes me but not my wife. The radio and radio dial works well enough. I don't mind the small buttons, as other reviewers have commented on, and find it easy to use the snooze and turn off. I don't find them difficult to use. UNFORTUNATELY, only after about two months of use the speaker started crackling intermittently ... every few minutes. It sounds like it could be a short in the wiring. Now this clock radio is useless to me, as I have been asked to remove it from the bedroom.

clock loses time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alarm clock has a nice size and some nice features but the clock loses time. I would expect a digital clock to keep better time, but I can never rely on this clock because it doesn't keep accurate time. Thinking about just throwing it away because I started using my phone instead so I don't have to worry about double checking the clock for accuracy.

It's a Lemon!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This alarm clock is a lemon! Feature-wise, it is perfect. I had no complaints. I purchased it at BB and two months later, it quit working. Everything froze. I sent it back to Sony and they sent me a new one. Two months later (this week), this one froze. I am ticked! It is obvious from the reviews they know it is a lemon and yet, they keep selling it! My last Sony was great and lasted several years. But after buying this model, I will never buy another Sony again!

Complicated hard to use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this radio because it came with an AM antenna. AM reception is very bad. The control buttons are hard to see and read. Many of the control buttons are on the back of the unit. There are too many steps needed to set the alarm. Overall unnecessarily complicated on all levels.

Can't set Radio Clock Alarm to turn on to Radio
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am disappointed. I have had Sony Dream Machines before, but I can't get the alarm to work on radio. All it does is buzz and won't turn off for about 5 minutes

Alarm not user-friendly!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is no way to know if the alarm is set for AM or PM. And, numbers move too fast --have to cycle a few times to finally find and stop it at the right time. Wish I had kept the box so I could return it.

Posted .Hello Betty! We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the design of the unit. When setting the alarm while going through the SET ALARM TIME + or – the AM or PM indicators located right under the alarm A on the left side of the display will be illuminated depending on the time it will be set. If the SET ALARM TIME + or – is pressed repeatedly instead of holding it, it will go slower.~Jeannette

Posted .Hello Walt! At the set time, the radio will turn on, or the buzzer will sound gradually increasing in
volume while the “A” or “B” flashes on the display of your clock radio as part of the specifications. For more information check the instructions manual of this unit using the following link:  https://docs.sony.com/release/ICFC1T_EN_FR.pdf ~ Jeannette

Total waste of money - will be returning
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's so many reasons to NOT buy this Sony Clock Radio/Alarm. 1. The volume of the alarms are a joke. Unless you're a VERY LIGHT sleeper and the A/C coming on at night wakes you up, you'd almost need to put this alarm in your pillow to hear it. Even with the volume at MAX. 2. Ridiculously complicated to set and operate. You press the RADIO but to turn on the radio, but you have to press the ALARM RESET to turn it off. REALLY? Why can't you just press the RADIO button again? You have to enter the month, date and time zone for the Auto DST to work. It's be easier to just manually set it an hour forward/back as needed. Especially if the actual DST dates aren't the same as what Sony's unchangeable presets are. The radio tuner wheel is also a joke. For the cost, it should be digital. 3. The audio quality of the radio is terrible. Sounds like the speaker is blown at any volume and makes a 1960's "pocket" radio sound like a Klipsch speaker. Bottom line is that this Sony clock radio/alarm does nothing well besides keep time. You'd be better off buying a clock radio/alarm that costs half as much.

Doesn't wake me up! :(
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My alarm clock/radio recently stopped working, and, being someone who relies on an alarm to wake her in the morning, I needed another one ASAP. After looking at the ones available on this website, I decided on one. It was only $19.99, and it had the feature I was looking for- namely, an alarm that I could set to either "buzzer" or "radio." As my luck would have it, however, Best Buy was out of stock in the one I wanted. After checking out my alternatives, I decided on this one. Even though it was $10.00 more, I reasoned that it is a Sony, so it must be worth the extra money. That night, before I went to bed, I set my alarm for 2:30. (I'm a "snooze button addict;" I need three snooze cycles before I can function.) I figured, therefore, that I would be out of bed @ my normal time of 3:00. At 3:30, I woke up, confused and irritated that I had overslept. When I looked at my clock, I saw that the alarm button was flashing, and wondered how I could have slept through three snooze cycles without one of those alarms waking me up? The next night, therefore, I decided to set the alarm on "radio." That also failed to work-- not because of the clock but because I the song that came on was so soothing that I fell back to sleep without hitting "Snooze," and woke up an hour later. After that, I came to the realization that relying on the radio to wake me was not a good idea, and decided to try the alarm one more time. Unfortunately, it failed to wake me again-- and left me behind schedule again. I think that the problem is that the buzzer is too soft, so it fails to wake me from my sleep, and there doesn't seem to be a way to increase its volume. I have come to the realization, therefore, that this is not the clock for me, and I plan on returning it. If you are a heavy sleeper like me and need an alarm that's loud enough to wake you, I would advise against buying this product.

Each of 3 Units had Flaws!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have now purchased three of these clock radios from Best Buy. Contrary to others' opinions about the manual tuning wheel, I find the digital ones cannot be fined tuned, where at least with the wheel you can tweak it. Problems with these radios: the first one drifted off station over night at times, but worse, the speaker had a slight vibration making each word spoken annoying to listen to. The second unit ran fast 15 seconds a week. Whoever heard of an ELECTRIC clock not keep perfect time? Hello, Sony? And within an hour after plugging it in, the "low battery" indicator turned on. And even after installing a new battery, the indicator remained on. The third unit also had a defective "low battery" indicator coming on shortly after installation. The clock appeared to run slightly fast on this one too. And there was a slightly annoying hum on my favorite station. There are many nice features about this clock radio, but these negatives are not ones you would expect from Sony. What happened to your quality control?

Awesome clock but
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My clock was working fine for a month and than all the buttons stopped working for some reason. So I just sent it back to Sony and since it has 1 year warranty they should be sending me a new one.

Will not keep good time.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The features and ease of use are simple and good. I like that. But its ability to keep time is terrible. I can set the clock and in a week it is 15 minutes late. And this has happened over and over. I will need to get another clock. Sad, I like the clock and liked Sony. But this lack of quality is unacceptable.

Disappointed and FRUSTRATED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Because of Sony's reputation and my past experience with MANY Sony products I purchased this $60 clock radio Dec 30, 2015 and in July 2017, it stopped worked. Lost control of the buttons; did the unplug, remove battery thing and now it simply flashes 12:00 and cannot do anything else. After having numerous Sony clock radios that have lasted years, I am so DISAPPOINTED in the failure of this defective product. I am more FRUSTRATED that Sony customer service has not been helpful and the company will not stand behind their relatively new and very lightly used clock. I am sorry to say that after 30+ years of me personally purchasing Sony products, I guess I am done. Too bad! I am angry with myself for not reading reviews, which may or may not have been available when I purchased that item at Best Buy.
