    This alarm clock broke after three weeks of use. The clock still displays time but none of the buttons work. I unplugged it from power and removed the battery for at least ten minutes then replaced it and plugged it back in and it still didn't work. The clock would reset the time but the buttons did nothing. I tried this several times with no results. After doing a quick internet search and reading other reviews, tons of people have had this same issue, or other issues with the clock after just weeks of use. Please save your time and money and buy something else, I wish I would have. Best Buy also has a terrible 15 day return policy meaning I have to go through the manufacturer to get a replacement/refund. Ridiculous.

    Alarm is very quite

    The clock function is great. Unfortunately the provided backup battery was dead when I received the product and the alarm function is extremely quite and is not adjustable.

    I rarely write reviews, but this is the second alarm clock that includes false information in BestBuy’s description of a Sony product. Under “Features” the last sentence is: “Pair this speaker with your smartphone, tablet or other Bluetooth-enabled device”. This isn’t true the product is not Bluetooth enabled. Under “Specifications” it also says that it is MP3 player compatible. To me, that means one can play music when connected via the USB port. Again, not true. Connecting via USB allows charging, but you cannot use the clock to play music from your own device. For $60 I would expect better and who need to project the time on the ceiling? I’m really disappointed in Bestbuy’s misrepresentation of the product and for wasting my time. Time to start shopping elsewhere I guess.

    My only issue is that the automatic time feature does not keep up with the correct time. I have had to set my alarm 5 minutes earlier to ensure I get up on time.

    My favorite alarm clock decided it didn't like DST any longer so I purchased this little Sony alarm clock thinking it would be a good replacement but boy was I wrong!! First of all who puts tiny buttons that you can not even read the descriptions on an alarm clock?!?! Next who makes the description of said tiny buttons in the short manual so hard to read its pointless?!?! This clock once started was 5 minutes ahead of all my other devices which was strange since my iPhone & iPad are automatically updated. Once I finally figured out how to set the alarm I hoped it would work the next day. Well let's just say this stupid thing isn't loud enough to wake anyone! After messing with it and trying to get the volume right for 3 days I took it back!

    Worked...and then it didn't

    The alarm clock worked well for a while. But then one night the display began flashing like we had lost power (but we didn't, plus it has the battery back up). Come morning when the alarm actually sounded (despite not displaying the correct time), none of the buttons would work to turn it off. Unplugging it didn't help as it still continued to alarm. The back battery on the bottom has a screw holding in the cover plate - only the screw would not come out. It finally took a flying leap off our back deck onto the patio as it is was the only way to get it to shut off! The battery came out on impact, and I'm certain that was the only reason it stopped buzzing. I can't believe I spent this amount of money on something that malfunctioned so badly.

    Stopped working shortly after a year of use

    Worked for 1 year and 5 months and then, suddenly stopped functioning. The clock became unresponsive to any button pressings. The warranty was only for 1 year. Googled the issue, turned out many had it. Tried some solutions posted in bloggers' portion of Sony.com; none of them helped. Contacted Sony Product Support, They e-mailed me Troubleshooting article, tried what Sony suggested-did not help me an any way. When asked the Product Support Rep what else could be done besides the Troublesh. article, the answer was to buy a new clock since the repair would be prohibitively expensive. That's how they're making electronics now...

    Don't waste your money

    I bought this clock on 6/6/16 as a Father's Day gift for my husband using my Best Buy rewards (original price 59.99 minus 24.66 worth of rewards made the amount I paid 35.33). It worked for six weeks and then it started flashing and none of the buttons would work. SONY support instructed me to buy a new battery, which I did. When it still did not work, SONY had me ship it back for replacement. They sent an email when they received it, but never got back to me. When I called today, they said they couldn't replace it because it was a 2014 model! Instead they were going to send me check for 37.81! After much rangling, they agreed to send me the full amount of 59.99, but it will take 4 - 6 weeks. What a disappointing product and even more disappointing customer service!!

    Unusable

    The buttons, and there are far too many, are everywhere. They are too tiny and poorly labeled. Setting the time is not remotely intuitive. The clock flips from daylight savings to regular time randomly, so I can't trust the displayed time. Pick it up to move it and you WILL touch a button, causing it to enter another mode. The usability of this thing is terrible. The clock display feature, a red display cast on the ceiling or wall, is well, disturbing if you plan on sleeping, I don't use it. Hitting a preset radio station button doesn't briefly display the station so you need to recall whih station you preset. This is by far the most poorly designed radio alarm clock I have ever seen. I can't return it, kept it too long so I'm throwing it away.

    This clock failed after about 4 months. Also, it has a very annoying feature: after going through the (too numerous!) steps to set an alarm, it confirms with a loud beep. This will wake up your partner or pet and jar you into alertness just when you're trying to get drowsy! I thought Sony could do better . . .

    Brought this 4 months back. Now it started showing problem. Display flashing with default time constantly as if its battery drained out - although its plugged in. No idea whats going on. Didnt expect this one to give up so quickly.

    I bought one of these for my daughter and one for myself and we're both having the same problems with it. When the alarm goes off sometimes it plays the radio station that you had it set at and sometimes you just get static. We are both careful not to bump the button to change the radio station but it just seems to have a mind of it's own. The clock also randomly changes the time on it's own on both of ours and I have to keep re-setting it. (and it has nothing to do with daylight savings) It's so odd. Sony used to make good quality electronics but they're quality has really gone down hill and this clock is no exception. Absolute junk. I would not buy this again.

    I've gone through two ICF-C1PJ's in nearly three years. First replaced by Sony. Geek Squad 2-yr. plan now expired and display is faded again. Can barely read time in daylight. Much too fragile for a Sony appliance. Much too expensive to throw away every 6-19 mos.!

    Do not buy this piece of junk

    My old Sony clock radio (15 years old) still works fine as a clock and alarm, but the radio ceased working, so of course I thought again of Sony to replace it. Don't waste your time or money on this model. Right out of the box, one of the buttons on the top that you need to push to set time, did not respond. I followed instructions carefully. Also, the controls are very small and close together and would be hard to deal with in the dark. (On my old Sony clock radio, they are spaced well apart.) Sony used to be a reliable brand. No more.

    Not worth the low price

    The radio is poor quality. The clock loses about a minute a week. If you live in AZ (and don't have daylight saving time), you'll spend hours trying to overcome that. It randomly changes times in the middle of the night. The FM stations drift, you can't lock them in. The instructions don't work; some are missing. Why would you have to go through the year, month and day just to get the hours and minutes to re-set the clock? Good luck trying to figure out how to re-set the time when it randomly changes in the middle of the night. Even more fun trying to turn it off when the radio turns on because it wants you to wake up. If I wanted something this needy and random, I'd call up my last boyfriend.
