    Sony Blue Ray Player Upscaling

    Hopeful that DVD player would work better than our older Sony. Unfortunately, we have an LG TV. This Sony does not communicate to our TV. Could not get it to upscale. Researched a patch or fix but impossible t get it to work for us. Guess we need to buy the same brand as our TV. Buy this if you have a SONY TV.

We want to assure you that Sony Blu-ray players are designed to be compatible with all major TV brands via HDMI, and you definitely shouldn't need to match brands to get a premium experience or high-quality upscaling.

      The issues with communication and upscaling are often related to the HDMI CEC settings or the HDMI cable itself. Ensuring both SimpLink on your TV and "Control for HDMI" on your Sony player are turned on can often resolve these handshake issues. Additionally, the upscaling happens automatically when the player is connected to a high-speed HDMI port.

    Draw opens smoothly. Picture and colors are good. The tv remote part doesn't work with Westinghouse.

    Steer clear / not worth the low price

    Though Sony always makes superior products in my humble estimation, this one can definitely use some improvements. I’ve had three of these now over the last couple of years, the most recent one only 3 1/2 months, and once again it malfunctions. The problem we keep having is that everything works fine, and then suddenly one day it just simply won’t play, and will not eject the disk. No matter which approach or methodology I utilize in trying to extract the disc it simply holds onto it. Then I have to take it back to Best Buy and have someone in the back. Remove my disk so I can return it. I will not be getting this one again. Three strikes!

    looks nice but the unit doesn't respond well to the on/off button. Also, the remote has to be used to set up the machine. I haven't figured out how to find the player yet on my tv, the guide is pretty slim on instructions...

      - Press and hold the POWER button on the front of the Blu-ray player for about 10 seconds until it turns off.

      2. Test the Power Outlet:

    The price was the only part that worked

    Price was right, but didn’t work for what I needed. Product was an open box purchase. It started to play 1 of the DVDs I tried, then froze and wouldn't play any of the next 4 DVDs I tried. Returned about a week later for full refund.

    Sony DVD play huge disappointment

    Bought the player, worked fine for 5 days then completely froze with my DVD inside. Tried to reach Sony and, like so many companies, they are not reachable. BestBuy was great at taking it back for a full refund. I purchased another, after 5 days it completely froze!
