    I’m normally a Sony guy, but this Blu-ray player I bought as a gift for someone who isn’t concerned about 4K. I must say the picture quality is pretty poor and the color that it creates is bizarre. I don’t recommend this. The one I purchased may have been defective. I don’t know.

While this model is our reliable, entry-level Blu-ray player, it should still deliver a crisp 1080p HD picture with natural colors thanks to our TRILUMINOS Color technology.

      If the colors look "bizarre," it is possible there is a handshake issue with the HDMI cable or a setting on the TV it's connected to. However, if the picture quality is consistently poor across different discs, it’s also possible the unit itself isn't performing as it should. We would love to help you troubleshoot this or check your warranty status to make sure your gift recipient gets the quality experience Sony is known for.
