Bought this Blu-Ray player because it came with Netflix and Amazon streaming capability and I needed a new blu-ray player. Unfortunately, while it plays blu-ray discs just fine, it is awful with Netflix. It frequently stutters, lags, and stops with no resolution in sight. I've looked all over the internet for a fix, but it seems like the general consensus is to throw the unit away and do not buy a Sony blu-ray player if you want to stream Netflix from it. Which is a shame, because the remote even has a handy Netflix button that starts the app right up. It seems like all it would take is a firmware update to fix the issue, but the Sony "experts" in the Sony forum can only offer apologies. While it does play blu-ray discs and stream from Amazon Video and YouTube just fine, I cannot recommend this player to anyone. DO NOT BUY. There are others in this price range that offer similar streaming features without the lag.

I purchased the MyQ mobile garage door opener. It works nicely most of the time. I have had a few occasions that it wouldn't recognize whether or not my garage door was open. Also, now my car home link, and the outdoor garage door keypad don't work. Hopefully I can fix those two issues, but I am disappointed that I have to spend the time trying.

Without counting this one, I have three Sony Blu-ray players, one from 2007, one from 2010 and one from 2013. They all have very good picture quality. This 2015 Sony has many more customizations when it comes to PQ, but when it's set to "direct", meaning what should be a completely unprocessed picture quality, it smooths parts of the screen for no good reason. I was watching the new Star Wars Blu-ray a few days ago and thinking that they had done a poor job in the h.264 encoding, because I noticed that in many close-up shots of people I would see parts of their faces that had been smoothed artificially, where the film grain was absent, as if using the blur brush in Photoshop. However, once I saw that, I started seeing it in other movies as well, so I thought it could be the player, not the movie. So I connect my 2013 Sony player and just as I thought, the smoothed areas are not there anymore, the film grain is even as it should be. So Sony, not only on their TV sets, but also on their Blu-ray players, keeps going down in quality. The GUI is also terrible. The older GUI was much easier to navigate, and it also was fast and smooth. This new GUI is clunky, the motion has a stutter even trying to scroll between icons. Sony has lost me completely after this and the fiasco that are their 4K TV sets, with vertical banding and edge bleeding.

Set up was easy and I have had no issues with playing movies.
