Not needed if u already have a bluray player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Forums couldn't give a straight answer to a question for anyone who's new to the 4k universe: If u already have a 4k tv ( which already upscales), then why buy one of these? Best buy employee told me that it depends on your equipment--still unclear as to why these are on the market unless you're coming from a dvd player to bluray and u just bought a 4k tv. Well, to put the issue to rest, i bought this myself and guess what? No difference at all! I compared it with my normal (non-upscaling) bluray player playing the same movie (2 discs) on the same 4k tv. Don't worry, i fixed all the settings on the upscale player and made sure that 2160p was showing up on my tv. And i could even swear that the regular player with tv upscale looked a little better! Brought this back the next day. Hoping to try out the 4k bluray player that plays UHD blurays when it gets cheaper, but for now, i'm good with my normal player. Gimmick!
