Nothing spectacular. It disconnected from the wifi for no reason and wouldn't pick up the signal until it was completely reconnected.

Although the player was relatively easy to connect to my TV, it was irritatingly difficult to get it to play. After several frustrating attempts we finally ejected the disc, turned off the player, turned it back on and then it worked. Unfortunately, however, the image was hazy/unclear. We tried three different blu-ray discs and viewed the same distortion on all three. I had, of course, expected to view a crisp and clear picture and was, as I wrote in the review summary, utterly 'disappointed'. I have called Best Buy several times to arrange for an exchange -during my last call I was put on 'hold' in order to speak to a supervisor, after 20 minutes, Pat, the representative, came back on line, apologized, and told me the supervisor was busy and would call me back -that was several days ago; I've not heard from Best Buy since.... Let me add that I bought the Sony by phone and had it delivered because I am handicapped and use a power wheelchair for mobility. The nearest Best Buy is a 40-minute drive from my home and the ADA bus transportation I use does not travel that far. I will wait until the Labor Day Weekend is over before I attempt to contact a supervisor again, but this experience had been -let me add once again- a disappointment!

I read many electronics reviewers stating that you do not need to get an upcaling 4k blu ray player because the 4k tv does it's own upscaling. I was going to return my Sony 4K TV because of this mis-information, mainly because my 1080p blu rays looked HORRIBLE on my Sony 4k TV - very blurry. I heard it would never be as clear as on a 1080p native tv, but the bad quality of the 4K upscaling turned the picture quality of my blu rays into the picture quality of DVDs! Did anyone else see this problem? Was there a picture setting on my TV that I missed? But before I returned it, I read on these Best Buy customer reviews a couple of posts that said an upscaling 4k blu ray player made their 4k TVs play blu rays with more sharpness. I took a chance rather than trusting the "expert reviewers" and bought the Sony BDP-S6500. And while it didn't have the same sharpness as seeing my blu rays on a 1080p native panel, IT MADE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. The image was much more clean and sharp, the reason I fell in love with blu-ray format in the first place. Not as sharp as 1080p blu rays on a 1080p native panel and definitely not as sharp as native 4k content, but it was definitely good enough that I didn't regret my 4k TV purchase. So, to see your blu-rays upscaled properly, getting an upscaling 4k blu ray player with your 4k tv is a must. I was getting depressed that I would never see my blu ray collection with clear pictures ever again as I sold my 1080p LED to buy 4K. But seeing them on this player helped to make the transition to 4k much better. The only reason for my 4 star review is that the audio output from this unit plays on my AV receiver as normal DTS and Dolby Digital, not the Dolby True HD or the DTS Master Audio as advertised. Again, is there a setting on the blu ray player that will correct this?

Sony is usually not a top performer. I usually find their products to be buggy and overpriced, but this item seems to be okay.

Many error messages when starting Netflix every time we try to watch it. It takes anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes to get it working.

Works sometimes and sometimes you have to unplug it to reset it. Replaced this thing twice

Occasionally freezes up. We then need to unplug it, plug it back in and then it works fine for awhile. Otherwise we love it.

It said this should work for 3D movie, "Upscaling 3D" but it doesn't play my 3D Disks .... and I'm not happy...

I purchased this Blu Ray player to replace the one I bought a year ago since it started having issues. Not even a month after I purchased this one, it started acting up. The screen blacks out while the show keeps playing and it also freezes often and needs to be unplugged to reset. I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but it's a string of bad luck for me. I will be returning it if it keeps up.

If you are looking for a UHD bluray player, this is not it. It will only play bluray and dvds... not UHD bluray dvds

I bought the blue ray DVDs, no choice to buy this one since it requires to use Blue ray DVD machine to play the DVds.

I wish there were buttons on the player itself but otherwise it's been good

Remote controls are very important for DVD player,The remote control with this DVD player sucks, I was very surprised because Sony usually makes such good products but if you have to spend half your time trying to get the remote to work what's the point.

This product doesn't play UHD movies and even with 4K cables doesn't make the picture notably better

Not true 4K UHD blu-ray movie player. It wont play discs in 4K UHD.

There are better out there, I would like to have an indicator to let me know if the player is on or off

Occasional issues with operations and firmware. But I think the update seemed to finally fix them.

works ok for what it is, occasionally has a lot of mechanical self-noise like the disk is unbalanced.

It plays most dvds and blue rays but has a couple mess ups. My PlayStation plays better than it.

cannot stream too fast. buffing can occur or freezes the whole picture. works on a slower modem
