    It took me a while to figure this out--there's a hierarchy of DVD player over TV, but I finally got used to it. Almost returned it due to intermittent high-pitched whirring sounds which have since stopped occurring. Player works fine, love the Netflix access button which seems to connect faster than my Tivo. Player instructions are essentially worthless beyond hook-up.
