Really like this product and the upscaling for my old DVDs works really well. I was quite impressed!

For the price, you cant beat this! We bought it to go along with our 4k tv. Great picture and sound!

This replaces my old Pioneer unit which would not play my Pink Floyd 2003 SACD/CD in hi-res (would only see the CD layer). So far it plays everything I've thrown at it! I also really like the small form factor. I haven't played with the apps but its faster than the unit it replaced and doesn't magically turn on (really annoying feature of the Pioneer) :).

I got this Blue Ray player to go with a Sony 4K TV that I have. It works great and interacts with the TV to share functionality. If I change the input on the TV to Blue Ray, the player turns n and queues up the title menu. It's great. I have had no issues with this player.

I've bought four different models of Sony blu ray players by far this is the worst model I've own of had to exchange this model twice and the 6200 model three times to get this model. I am still not satisfied with this model the 6200 series were blurry and this model the 6500 updates really slow . The blu ray player shows a beautiful picture but I have to unplug from the back to watch Netflix or Amazon what is that all about. I can't recommend this player like I've had in the past with the other models sorry Sony.

After more than 8 months of use(and passing my kids endurance test) is working without a problem! And like I said a small thing but great! He convert everything( DVD, avi, mkv, mp4,bd) on my 4k TV to a higher level of a quality of the picture! Amazing!

Performs well, nice unit overall. Bought 6 months ago and have used multiple times. Only complaint is there are no play, pause or stop buttons on the unit. Not a deal breaker, but nice to have when remote gets temporarily lost. Love the 3D add effect to none 3D movies. Nice streaming options from Sony built in side by side with Netflix, etc.

Love the USB port. Can play movies & view photos. A big space saver in living room. We've loaded our movies on a 3TB portable Hard drive (Seagate) & stored our hard copies in our storage room. Have purchased smaller tv stand. No need for storage type stand. Love It! So far Blu-Ray has been very dependable!

I am very unhappy with this purchase. This player will not play Pandora properly. I don't know if this player in particular is defective or if all of these model BDPS6500 Sony players have this same problem. I went on Sony support website and read others with similar problems and the fix was suggested to change my DNS Server settings in my router and to Enable Extended services in the Apps Menu. I did all that with some improvement but the player will not return to the Home Menu after playing Pandora. I have to unplug the player and restart it every time to watch anything after Pandora. I took the player in to my local Best Buy store in Bend, Oregon. I had purchased a 4 year Geek Squad Protection plan. They refused to replace or try to repair the player. They offered me a cash refund to buy a different player. This same player which is less than one month old was for sale for $38.00 more. I refused to pay $38.00 more for the same player and I was left with returning home with my defective open box player. So much for the 4 year protection plan as well as the Lack of Customer Service in Bend, Oregon Best Buy. I drove 20 miles round trip to get nothing and return home to reinstal my defective Sony BDPS6500 Open Box Player.

Bought a new 4K/3D tv and needed a dvd player to go with it.Will wait to buy a true 4K player but this one will do fine in the mean time.The Blu Ray dvds that have good resolution look really good and the access to Netflix,Youtube,etc work well.Easy to set up and use.Price point makes it a value item.

Won't stream its own main menu, nor will it stream a DVD. Pop a Blu-Ray in and all is right with the world as long as I let it play at least 15 minutes and press stop, I finally get the main menu and it will play a DVD. Weirdness to the max, but totally true. I would have returned it within the 14 day period but I was too busy blaming and replacing our home theatre equipment, starting with the HDMI cords, ending with the Onkyo receiver (purchased at Best Buy as well). When the AV receiver is bypassed (as in plugged straight into the new TV) I have the exact same issue. However, when I replace this unit with my old Sony player, all works exactly as it should. Get this - Best Buy is blaming me, the user, and even though I purchased the repair/replace plan, they're not providing necessary assistance. I am physically disabled, with severe mobility issues, and Best Buy wants me to tote the machine around repeatedly, rather than replace an obviously defective unit. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON BEST BUY'S GEEK SQUAD PLAN! It gets you naught buy a big hassle. Not only am I returning to Fry's, but BB shall not receive one more cent of our money based on this experience.

picked up this Blu-ray player for a friend as he was upgrading from Dvd to Blu-ray and I have to say that this player has all the bells and whistles, the picture quality is great and start up time is super fast! I would certainly recommend this this model

I needed something to give me a better picture quality on my 4k tv, without having to buy a 4k player just yet. It works well and I haven't had any video or audio problems. Even gives a good picture and sound to older movies as well. Great product.

I like this blu-ray player except for the fact that is does not have HBO GO.

My current player broke, so I needed to purchase a replacement. For reasons, not necessary to explain here, I wanted to purchase a Blue Ray player that also provided a component video and coax sound output. I also wanted 4K up-convert as I intend to purchase a 4K TV in the near future. The Sony - BDPS6500 seemed to be perfect since the specifications included 2 component video outputs as well as coax digital sound output. However, when I got it home, there were NO component outputs only one HDMI plus the coax sound. Thus I wasted over an hour of my time traveling back and forth to Best Buy. DO NOT TRUST SPECIFICATIONS FOR ITEMS ON THIS SITE, THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT ACCURATE..

I got this to replace an older non-Blu-ray player. So far it's working great. I have used it to watch Netflix movies and haven't had any problems. I haven't watched any Blu-ray content as yet so I cannot comment on that functionality.

This Sony blu-ray player works great with my Sony TV. It set up quickly and works much better and faster for streaming, than my previous Samsung (older) model. The pricing was very good for the quality!
