I was in the market for a blu ray player a little more up to date. Chose this one and I'm glad I did. Easy to use but can't figure out the firmware update. But other than that, works great with a nice clear picture.

i got rid off my Samsung home theater which was driving me crazy with the volume. i had 2 of those and i'm done. i bought a sound bar and i use this dvd to watch red box movies and use the apps.

This Sony Blu-ray is easy to operate, delivers good quality picture and sound and has a large number of apps that are easy to access. The only reason it does not get 5 stars is the limited number of HDMI outputs.

This blue ray player is tops! If you're not ready to go full UHK discs yet, this does the tricks at a fraction of the cost. And it totally syncs up with my Sony TV and surround sound system.

I recently purchased this Sony 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray player for my new entertainment center and I am enjoying the quality of the picture and sound that the Blu-Ray Ultra HD 4K provides.

Bought this to use with a Samsung TV. Not sure if the match was poor, or if the Blu-ray player was junk. Presume it is the latter. The Sony could not successfully connect to whatever it is trying to find online to do a software update. Not a good sign. Playing Netfliix movies off the network seemed to work fine. Pandora was another matter. The player would occasionally lock up with Pandora and would have to be either turned off or unplugged to reset. Happened multiple times over several days. Also would show a song title about to play, then move on to the next one without playing. We are returning this Sony and buying a Samsung player.

Sony has reputation for making excellent products. The Sony BDP-S470 blu-ray player plays movies with clarity and CDs as well.

Bought this for my mother to replace her old unit. She loves the streaming features, which she didn't have access to before. She's thrilled she can watch movies once again.

QA Testing???????? This is not an obscure feature. The problem is with the player. I stream amazon HD from other devices just fine. Youtube and netflix apps do 4K.

I assumed that since this player could get Pandora, that I would also be able to access Spotify. I bought this player, which was more expensive and did more than I needed it to do just for this purpose so I could simplify our listening while also having a great DVD / Blu-ray player. Sadly, it does not support Spotify. It should be a simple thing for Sony to add an app for Spotify, but without the app, you cannot access. I should return the player, but now that I finally have it in the space and working, won't bother. I will simply hope that Sony adds a Spotify app in the future and allow it in an update.

I'm mostly happy with this player, but it has some odd behavior. Sometimes it will forget all its previous wireless setup and authentication and require me to do network setup again. There are also times when it won't respond to the "Open Door" button to put in a DVD, either from the remote or from the button on the player. I have to unplug it, then re-plug it in before the door can be opened.

So I bought this little just to see how an upscales movie would look like and its great. Only downside is it doesn't have HDR. Meaning it won't play movies like Deadpool, Sicario, since those are true 4K HDR. If you're looking for a true 4K player try the Samsung, that's if don't mind spending $400. Overall this is decent 4K upscale player, not the best, but hey you get for what you get.

Haven't tried to the upscaling features yet but at least with standard Blu-Rays, the player has been great and is very user friendly. Good price as well

When playing movie DVD the quality is similar to 480i. Called Sony Level 2 tech support and they told me I will not get a clear picture with DVD movies because the player is trying to upscale to around 2K which will produce a blurry DVD picture...this sounds absurd. Netflix movies look great on this player. have not tried blu ray discs. Trouble also with player WiFi detecting other storage devices on network. Sony tech recommend going to 3500 which only upscale to 1080p. I think the tech named Roberto does not know his product. Taking this unit back.

After researching this product compared to other products I'm satisfied with what I have, easy To maneuver, user-friendly

This was just what I was lucking for, perhaps it was not the top of the line, but it really met my needs for my budget.

Very small compared to other DVD players I have. Easy setup. Connected to my Wi-Fi router easily and quickly.

Full featured DVD player at a great price. Easy set-up. Only drawback is that I had to provide my own HD cable.

The 4K upscaling on this model was absolutely Amazing...so clear and so sharp with the 4K tv!

Great player! Compact and cute too Get one ASAP!!!
