We have a Sony media player downstairs and a Sony 3d bluray upstairs. I like how they incorporated the apps for Netflix, Amazon, YouTube etc so kind of wanted to stick with Sony. Since i was hoping to upgrade the upstairs bluray, I looked at 3d 4k players but also wanted something with really good reviews. So after lots of comparing, I went with this Sony. I went to install it upstairs so I could move the other 3d player downstairs. However, after disconnecting the old player and getting ready to hook up the new one, I find out it lacks a toslink(digital audio connection). This shot my plans of upgrading the upstairs player. Therefore, I put the new player downstairs. After just a few weeks my kids kept complaining that it locks up and won't let you do anything with it. You have to pull the plug and plug it back in. This was just watching videos on amazon or Netflix, so can't even imagine what would happen playing a DVD. I'm quite disappointed.

I wanted 4K upscaling and this looks great. The start time is fast, and it doesn't freeze up like my last one. It has smart player features but I don't use them because I already have Roku built into the tv. I did make sure to upgrade the software during set up and I've had no problem with child lock issues like some other reviewers.
