Comfortable but poor sound quality
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While they are fairly comfortable, the sound quality is poor, even for conference calls, which seems to be the most targeted usage. Voices sound very distant and volume is low. On the positive, no issue for other people to hear me. I end up rarely using those. I much prefer the bone conductors headsets which are as comfortable and get much better sound.

very loud obnoxious beeps
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these as a replacement for a plantronics back beat that finally gave up on me. These have acceptable sound quality but they have very loud and obnoxious beeps at both turn on and turn off. I chatted with sony support about this and there's no new firmware or anything can be done so I returned them for credit.

Posted .Hi Aashishkebab,
We are really sorry if you are experiencing issues with the SRS-NB10 Wireless Neckband Speaker. This is certainly not the news we'd like to hear from you. Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience.
Connecting the neckband speaker to an AC outlet or a computer automatically turns off the neckband speaker. While connected with a power source, the neckband speaker does not turn on. This is part of normal operation, and we appreciate your feedback with this function.
For the beep sound, if you are referring to a sound every 7 second when using the mute function on the neckband unit, we are sorry, but this feature can’t be turned off. This is part of normal operation. When you make phone call using our SRSNB10 paired to a mobile device and you push mute on the neckband unit, it will give a sound every 7 second reminding you that you have a call that’s on mute. As for the sound quality, this usually depends on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. While we are not sure what brand/model of audio device you have this Wireless Neckband Speaker connected to, you may try selecting the Priority on Sound Quality setting on the neckband speaker and see if it improves your overall listening experience. Unique speaker solution with mediocre performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony NB-10 wireless neckband speaker is a unique solution for those who want a personal audio experience without putting on a headphone. And in some cases, this speaker does do that, albeit with some sacrifices. The thing that got my attention most was how light it is, and how well made it seems like. Even though it’s made with a mix of soft-touch materials and feels quite flexible, it is well put together and you can feel the quality of the finish. It has an IPX rating so is convenient to use without a lot of fuss. Overall, “wearing” the neckband is not uncomfortable at all, and I got used to it pretty quickly. Setting up with Bluetooth was a breeze with my Android smartphones, tablet, and a Windows 10-based laptop. Especially whenever it’s ON and near my phone, a notification pops up to connect to it. Also the Android “Find my Device” seems to work when it’s connected, so it can ring - this helps finding it when buried in a mess. As for connectivity, it has Bluetooth 5.1 and a theoretical 30 m of range. However, it only supports SBC and AAC audio codecs - no aptX or LDAC which usually offers higher fidelity. But this point is mute due to the limitation of the speakers. With all these bells and whistles, I was looking for a decent listening experience, and that’s where I found this neckband speaker lacking. I got an impression that this will provide a good “private” experience, but that’s far from the truth. Just like a speaker, even though the sound is focused upwards towards my ears, everyone else in the room was able to hear what I was listening to quite clearly - even with a very low volume. Obviously it was creating less “disturbance” than my regular bluetooth speaker, but still it’s far from “personal”. As for sonic performance, it was mediocre at best - voices from podcasts were good and clear, but any type of music sounded muddy. Worst of all, I couldn’t find any way to change the EQ settings. Sony boasts it has passive radiators, but from the muddy to almost non-existent bass I am not convinced. Another thing that I found to be disappointing is the dual connectivity feature. I was enthusiastic that now I’ll be able to use my laptop and my android smartphone simultaneously (without disconnecting/reconnecting), but in actuality, I couldn’t use the 2 systems in the same manner. Only 1 can be connected as a headphone, while the other must regress back to the Bluetooth Handset profile. Thus I could only get music from my phone, and headset facility from my laptop at the same time - I couldn’t take a call on my phone with this setup. This was a big letdown for me and I ended up giving up this feature. In a nutshell, this is a well-built and designed product that does not reach its full potential. I hope future iterations will be better and make it more useful. For now, I’ll stick to my headphones while I share my work-from-home space with my spouse.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is used for the TV to help my wife hear it better. The sound quality is very poor. We paired it with our LG Smart TV so she uses this bluetooth and I can still use the speakers and I dont get blasted out. There is a constant echo between her and the TV. It cuts out if she walks into the kitchen or bathroom both are only about 10 feet from the TV. This was bought in replacement of the Sony SRS-NS7 Neckband Bluetooth Speaker/headphone for TV which cost $300. We had two of those and one set lasted a year the 2nd only 3 months. Both started emitting a high electronic sound and would not turn off.

A communication device that prioritizes comfort
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wearable headphone uhm speaker is not as weird as it sounds. They are actually making a lot of sense and look more natural than seeing people with headsets during online video conference sessions. I actually prefer these wearable speakers to my video conference headset for two reasons: Firstly, it is more comfortable to wear something on your shoulder than on your head. The device feels light. Secondly, they just work well. Unlike true wireless earbuds or headset that block your ears, you will get more sense of your surroundings when you use this device. Sony intended this device as a communication device for people who works from home, though there are many potentials of this device beyond being simply a work from home gadget. Initiating the device is as simple as charging them with the supplied USB-C cable and pairing them with your gadgets. The device can pair to multiple gadgets at the same time so you can connect your smartphone and your PC at the same time and the device will play audio whenever there’s an active sound being played in one of your gadgets. The battery is rated to last 20 hours so it should last an entire online video conference session for the whole day. However, none of my online video conference lasts that long to confirm it. The device does its job really well in picking up speaker’s voice. There’s a dedicated mute button, which is a really great feature when we’re using them for online video conference. Audio quality is good for this purpose. If you intend to use them for listening to music, sure you can. However, you can’t compare them to the listening experience of enjoying your full range speakers or your monitor headphones so the performance will surely disappoint audiophiles. The device is primarily intended to function as a communication device meaning the acoustic profile is not geared towards musical enjoyment. If you’re tired wearing your headphones when listening to music in extended session, this device can be a much more comfortable alternative but in no way that this device can substitute the acoustic performance of a very good pair of headphones. It’s going to be quality vs. comfortability. Also, being essentially wearable speakers, people near you will hear what you hear when you play audio loud enough with the device. So, privacy is something that you should consider if you intend to use it in a non-private space. The device has an IPX4 splash resistance rating meaning that it can endure splashes of water say that you are running in the park and it starts to rain heavily. Though the rating means that the device can endure heavy rain, it is not intended to endure exposure to water beyond 5 minutes nor can it be completely immersed in water. The splash resistance rating is still very useful because it means that this device is outdoor friendly. Overall, this is a very good product from Sony because it does its job well as intended.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw a similar review of this speaker and thought the person was exaggerating, but these are a HORRIBLE set of speakers. I can barely hear what anyone is saying. I have to be sitting in a perfectly quiet space, and still have to actively listen because the max volume on these is so low. Thank you for your review.
We are so sorry if the loudness/maximum volume of this Wireless Neckband Speaker didn't live up to your expectations. This is definitely not the experience we wanted you to have on our premium product. If you still have the unit, please refer to the steps below to troubleshoot this problem:
The loudness as well as the sound quality of our SRS-NB10 will depends on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. You can easily control volume to a level that’s comfortable for you by touching the volume button on the side of this Sony neckband speaker. You can also play and pause when listening to music. Lightweight and comfortable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first time I’ve had a neckband speaker. I have to say I am impressed and pleased with the Sony Wireless Neckband Speaker. The Neckband speaker comes with a quick start guide, reference guide and a USB-C charging cable. The cable is very short, only 6” and the quick start guide is OK, but there are only illustration and no actual written directions. It’s easy enough to follow, but written words would be more helpful. The charging cable is too short to charge and listen at the same time. It could have been longer at least 24” like other items that come with a charging cable. The Neckband Speaker doesn’t come with an AC adapter either. For $149 Sony could have included a longer USB-C cable and an AC adapter. The Sony Neckband Speaker is light weight and comfortable. The band that goes on the back of the neck is made of a rubber type material and is very flexible. The only problem with that is if you sweat the band can get uncomfortable and irritate the skin. I use either a towel or scarf around my neck when I use it for exercise or walking. The sound is clear and the charge lasts for a several hours (approximately 20). I was able to listen to 2 full audio books on a single charge. The buttons are slightly raised making them easier to find. Functions include Power button, Microphone/mute button, Bluetooth indicator LED light and charging connection on the right side of the Neckband. On the left side are volume controls (- and + indicators), along with the play/call button in between them. The Neckband Speaker’s microphone is when the external noise isn’t too loud. The noise cancellation is better than using the phone or laptop speakers, but the person on the other side can still hear some background noise. There is no specific App for the PC or smart phones. There is a website that Sony provides in the quick start guide as a scannable bar/square code. From this site you can download a help guide in your cell phone documents folder as a .PDF file. The Sony Wireless Neckband Speaker has a built-in microphone for calls and gaming. It worked well with my cell phone and laptop. It works well when there isn’t much background noise, but if there is a lot of noise (children playing, people talking, TV on, etc.) it’s harder to hear the call. The person on the other end of the call can hear background noise. I recommend it for its portability, light weight, and sound quality. For me it’s great for listening to my audio books. It’s a good Neckband Speaker for the price as compared to other Neckband speakers.

Very Comfortable, Not Great Sound for Music
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony SRS-NB10 wireless neckband speakers are apparently being marketed to the work-from-home individual, where you would use these as your speaker and mic for your online meetings. That focus on the voice quality comes at the sacrifice of music quality, but if you understand their apparent primary purpose, that can be an acceptable trade-off. The positives: These have to be one of the best-designed around-the-neck headphones I’ve used. They’re ergonomic and conform to your actual shoulder & neck, so unlike others where they stick out straight from your shoulders & then flop around when you run or do vigorous exercise, these stay put. Their weight is perfectly balanced and they become nearly unnoticeable when wearing them. Connection is quick and seamless, as most Bluetooth-enabled devices are today. Powering it on as a new device was immediately recognized by my Android device and I was offered to pair (without having to manually enter pairing mode). Range of the Bluetooth was also excellent, with me being able to easily walk into the kitchen or another room while connected to my laptop or phone without losing signal. Battery life is good. While I recharge it before they’re completely dead, they’re rated at 20 hours of use. With rapid charging via USB-C you can get an hour of use on 10 minutes of charge if you run it all the way down. Sound quality is good AND bad. Again, these appear to be marketed toward using at home for work meetings, and for that, they’re good. The sound is loud and crystal clear, powered by speakers that face upwards from the face of the headphones, directing that sound more toward your ears and less out into the environment. The mic is also excellent, it picks up noise from you speaking quite well without picking up excessive ambient noise. Now, where this goes bad is that the speakers are very tinny – there is very little bass composition to the sound from the speakers, so when using with music they’re poor. The music again is clear, but almost like you turned the treble settings all the way up and the bass all the way down. It sounded like an old AM radio. So this is where I’m torn. But understanding these aren’t being marked like a set of Beats, where music is the one thing they’re worried about, I can give that sound quality for music a pass. They are also advertised as IPX4 water resistant, so they’re advertised as being resistant to “splashes”, but again I’m not willing to give that a try for this review. The negatives: Again, you have to start with that music sound quality. There is also no app for phone-to-headphones integration. Sony has a “Sony Headphones Connect” app, but it does not pick up these headphones. Perhaps it’s because they’re relatively new and will be added to the app (or a new app created) later, but at the time of this review, there was no app. The lack of an app means no ability to control the sound EQ settings, which may have fixed some of the “tinny” sound, no update to the firmware, and no ability to see on your phone what the battery level is. Overall: Again, these are great headphones for voice-only sound. Unbelievably comfortable around your neck with great overall functionality. But if you’re looking for a set of headphones where you can use them to listen to music at high quality all day or on a walk or run, understand you’re getting less-than-stellar sound quality for music. I would easily give these 5 stars if the sound for music were better and if there was an app that I could use to work with the headphones.
