This is my second Sony Bravia. Bought this one in Feb 16. Always been a fan of their awesome picture and sound quality. TV is pretty light weight and slim. I was a little surprised with the weight when I set it atop TV table. The best buy store's staff were not very well informed about this TV because they were not able to answer some of my basic questions like : does it have an Ethernet port? Is this WiFi 802.11 ac standard compliant etc. I found most of the info researching internet. The application home page loads in about 20 seconds which is a little bit frustrating, hence 4 stars.

I originally had purchased a 50" Vizio E Series previously. I had an issue with the first one, exchanged for another. That didn't work either. The second time I took the Vizio to be exchanged, the salesman suggested the Sony Bravia. I was a little hesitant because it was a little more than what I wanted to spend. It's not a 50" like the Vizio, it's a 48". Not a huge difference but downsizing and paying more, one could see why I was hesitant. I gave it a try and I'm glad that I did. The speakers on the tv sound awesome compared to the Vizio. I like the more upscale look of the Sony. I will say that the smart tv function is a little complicated and somewhat more difficult to learn. One feature I think is odd is that the option to turn the picture off does not work in the Netflix app on the tv. Not all menu options are available in some apps. Like the sleep timer in the Netflix app. I have to go to the tv app's home screen and go to the sleep timer through the preferences in order to turn it on. The speakers sound crisp and clear and do not have a popping noise when certain sounds are made like the Vizio did. There are tons of options to customize the picture and sound. One thing I think is cool is that you can customize such options for each input. There's an option for a wall mount sound option in the menu that changes the projection of sound. The power LED changes colors for statuses of the tv. Green, orange, and white. As far as I know, that's the only one's I've seen. Green is on during normal viewing, orange is when the sleep timer is on, and then the white, I'm assuming is on during the powering on process. Since it is a smart tv, it's practically a computer and takes thirty seconds or less to finish loading the software for the smart tv functions like Netflix, so you have to be patient. The tv does have a fast processor as explained by the salesman. The interface is quick and responsive compared to the Vizio. The Sony has an option to where you can connect certain devices through HDMI. It's a cool function to use with your PlayStation. I use mine as my blu-ray player and it's nice not having to use multiple remotes. I definitely enjoy my tv. It was made to be a gaming tv. I do play video games occasionally and they look awesome on it. The quality of the picture is excellent as long as you're viewing HD content. There will be some tweaking needed for the pictures, or there was to make the picture to where I think it should be. There are "scenes" that you can select from for pre-set preferences for viewing and you can also set it to "auto". I also recommend the extended warranty plan, whereas the Sony warranty is only for one year. I opted for the 5 year warranty. I believe the Sony Bravia is a great tv for the money without breaking the bank. I hope this review helps. Thank you for reading!

This is a very nice TV we have two of the older Sony Bravias they still are working great this newer one is great super picture easy to operate really good sound

I have always appreciated the quality of Sony TVs, but often try to get something that is "just as good, but cheaper." This is rarely successful, and I should have learned by now that if you want Sony quality, buy a Sony. This TV has way more features than I will use, but it does the basics well, which means it has a great picture, regardless of the source material. This includes working well with my antiquated sources. I'm very happy with this product, and recommend it highly.

We found this on a clearance and took a chance. We are usually a Samsung household but have been very pleased with the Bravia. It has nice color and clear picture. Silly as it may be the only part I dislike is the stand.

I was replacing a 10 year-old Sony Grand Wega LCD 42" projection TV. The picture on this new Sony 48" LED is far sharper and more detailed, as well as being far more customizable. The light weight of the TV was a relief. There's a notable drop-off in sound quality from the previous, larger generation of TVs, but that seems to be the case with all the ultra-thin LED and 4k models. Obviously, the thicker, heavier TVs could accommodate more & larger speakers. Other than that, this TV is an upgrade in every way. Salesman Willie was knowledgeable and helpful. I'm very pleased with this purchase!

Aesthetically pleasing and visually impressive. Use it mostly for playing games and watching Netflix. So on those 2 areas it does exactly what I expect of it...but it is quite sensitive to Wi-Fi fluctuations (more the providers fault than the TVs limitations). Another issue is the browser which lacks plug-ins to allow for streaming from some sites. Can't comment on the sound because I hooked it up to a soundbar out of the box and know that it won't be as good so, I don't bother "hearing" it. When you start to nit-pick then it is testament to the strength of the product. Go buy...QUICK!!!

Due to lightning frying the T.V. I was forced to buy a new replacement and didn't want to spend a fortune since this was for a summer get-a-way. This was not only reasonably priced but also very functional and surprisingly accurate colors . I am used to high quality plasma TV's at my home and this tV was every bit as beautiful bright and accurate colors. I was also delighted to see it worked as a smart TV allowing computer images to be displayed. I didn't spend any time comparing TV's and basically looked for a decent brand with 1080 resolution with a quick recovery rate. This TV is great.

This is our first smart TV and we love it. The picture quality is excellent and the features are easy to access and use.

Purchased for PS4 gaming and second tv. Great so far, beautiful picture and very bright display. Is actually 120 Hz, not like most other brands that are 1080p.

An excellent looking picture and features. Sharp images and only 20lbs so it was easy to move around and mount. I wish it had a slightly higher refresh rate though.

Great TV with many features. Great picture and sound quality. The only thing I don't like is the remote control that comes with it. It was very easy to set up. I did it myself by following the enclosed directions.

Have an Insignia 50" wall mounted in my room. Wanted another for living room & decided on this Sony 48" & wall mounted it. HD comes through even though cable box not HD. Color, etc is amazing! Even on movies from '70's that haven't been updated. Sound is great sometimes but not always. Will probably add sound bar or something when able to afford it. Still learning smart features & apps but so far, so good .

I purchased both brands being a fan of both, and all I can say is Sony stepped their game up way up with this TV being only a 60hz and my Samsung being a 240hz. The ratio is great I can hardly tell the difference. Nice crisp picture (HD of course), and easy to function menu. The only con of this TV is still the sound quality....Sony has improved, but my Samsung is still quite louder than this Sony even at a low volume preference. The price was affordable in within anyone's budget.

I bought an open box and it looked like it was barely taken out. All the cords, accessories and remote were still in the original packaging. TV works great - very easy to use and nice size and picture for the price.

The quality of the picture on this TV is VERY nice. Surprisingly, the speakers on it do a pretty darn good job even though it's a flat screen, and we have no problem hearing it in our room. The only thing I don't like is that the OS of the smart tv is REALLY slow to get booted up and to open up apps and things. I feel like I shouldn't have to wait 30 seconds to be able to change the channel when I turn my TV on. Other than that, though, it has plenty of HDMI ports and an RCA jack for my old video games, and a few different settings for the quality of the screen, so overall I'm pretty happy.

Perfect size, well made, easy to set up, reasonably priced. Very good advice from the BB associate at the store. Then purchased on-line due to free shipping.
