Poorer quality than expected from Sony. TV often shuts itself off. Streaming of HBO Go not an option. Wish I had gone with Samsung.

Pro: Super Great Picture Best sound from any TV we've ever owned 4 HDMI Inputs Easy to use right out of the box Instant Netflix! Cons: only 60hz. (if it were 120hz it would be THE PERFECT TV) Hard to use manual referring to SMART capabilities This replaced a smaller Vizio. We did purchase the Sony for a super on sale price. It has many (lots!) of options we will just have to learn to use in time. The manual is basically useless. We both love the outstanding picture! Highly recommend!

Sony tvs stand apart from other brands, this one here is a killer deal and the best bang Sony currently is offering. What's not to love? Clarity, Color, Smooth with absolutely no motion blur. Design is top notch and build quality superb, classy, sophisticated and has smart features everything you would want. This tv goes the extra distance from the rest. For the dough be hard to beat this tv. Don't listen to the negative reviews this bad boy is rock solid and king of the hill. If you don't like Sony then buy something with inferior picture quality and color from another brand. It's up to you it's your G**D*** life...

I was looking for a 50" TV as a gift for a family member. This one caught my eye. Center stand attachment made sure that her table would be able to hold the TV (many of the new models have feet at the edge of the TV making it difficult to place the TV on a lot of TV tables). 60Hz native but the technique Sony developed to deal with motion blur seems to work very well. Lots of HDMI inputs (some sets in this price range have only 2). Wireless connection is easy to set up and so far no drops. I do not hesitate to recommend this set.

Picture was not as good as I needed. This TV was returned and exchanged for a Samsung.

We did not want to pay for a cable box for the TV in this room but we wanted to watch as much as we can in HD. So we wanted a TV with a trusted name, good specs and was a smart TV. We were going to get a TV that was open boxed but was swayed by a Blue Shirt to get this tv and wow, thanks for the save. We got our TV/Movie apps downloaded and set up in a matter of seconds when we go home and the TV was super easy to set up with on screen directions.

If you are looking for a great TV this is it. As others have commented the internet functions are a little subpar and may be better looking at Samsung or LG. However, my opinion is that in general TV internet is not the best, you are better off using your tower, laptop, android, etc for the internet. In regards to this TV the picture is great, listed at 60HZ but I see no motion lag. TV is lightweight, easy to set up. Stand seems sturdy. The frame is very thin therefore this is all tv. Able to get a much bigger size in a small room. The sound is average. However, I think this is with all LED's. You are placing speakers in a thin TV. The screen is only 2.5 inches from bottom of stand which could cause problem with sound bar placement. In regards to the internet, no keyboard, plenty of appts, but everything moves slow. Overall, great TV and for the price can't beat it. Sony has been very good for years, kind of fell of the top of the list last few years but I believe they are on the come back trail. recently, released 4k TV's.

I had been procrastinating for over a year on replacing my old Sony Trinitron CRT television as I knew I'd have to get rid of the TV and the entertainment center. Both were still in excellent shape; after having this TV for 15 years I thought it might outlive me! So I had been researching for awhile and went in to Best Buy; the sales person was very helpful and knowledgeable on this and other TVs. I thought 48 inch would be just right and it is. I didn't want to get a Smart TV, was planning on getting Apple TV but found out they don't support Amazon Video. What sold me on getting the TV was that Best Buy would haul away my old TV and entertainment center for a nominal fee (or free if buying 51 inch or more). That sold me, and they helped me set up even though I decided to do most of it myself after they left. I had previously downloaded the PDF for this TV and saved it on my iPad. Very easy to set up, navigate between cable and Netflix, Amazon Video, others. Picture quality is right on, sound is pretty decent although I'm planning on hooking it up to my home theater system. Have only had it a day but loving it so far, wished I hadn't waited so long. Still have much more to explore, looking forward to doing it!

This is the second Sony TV monitor I have purchased from Best Buy. My first being an older, early model, 40" flat panel that was only 720 resolution. This one was a huge step up from my old one, and like most technology, was half the price of my old one, while improving on it in every way. I specify, buy, and install AV presentation gear for a living, so I tend to be pickier than the average user. This TV did not disappointment me in any way when it came to color saturation, contrast, and features. I did have to do a little tweaking to get the image exactly like I wanted it, but that is one of the things that makes Sony a great option. They provide a ton of image adjustment settings, so you can play with it until you are too tired to stay up any longer. If you hate messing with settings, it looks pretty good right out of the box though. One of the big things for me in looking at any new TV, is whether the whole screen is uniform in color and black level. Many monitors I have seen, create the clouding/blooming light bleed on the edges or in blobs in the middle, and that drives me crazy. I had an LG years ago that I took back for that very reason, and then purchased my first Sony. This one is one of the most uniform pictures I have seen on a TV. Not a single blob or dead pixel. One of the pleasant surprises for me, was that it has built in Miracast capability. It works quite well when you have it on your wireless network.. I was able to display anything from my Galaxy S5 to the large screen. Nice added bonus if you want to show photos, or a web page quickly to a room full of people. The included apps are nice if you use them, and there are so many to choose from, it may be overkill. I have used the Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Crackle apps a little, but the Netflix, I use quite a bit. I used to stream Netflix via a computer I had connected to the TV, but the app is much more convenient, and actually looks better than it did from the computer. You can probably find better monitors out there right now, but not for this price, or with the amount of tweaking and feature set of the Sony KDL48W600B. There are also cheaper TVs on the market, but again, you may regret going cheap, only to pay for it later.

This TV always pauses the apps. No update is required or available. HBOGO is not available on this TV, how was I supposed to know that before purchase?

i never write reviews even for amazing things but i just had to come and leave love for this TV. Its a great price and it has great sound along with by far the best picture of any other TV in my house....we have 7....embarrassing but true. We have LG, Samsung and the picture on this TV is FAR better. buy it.

I got this as a bundle with my PS4. couldnt be happier with the picture and the price i paid. didnt even realize it was a smart TV until i was setting it up and it asked to connect to WiFi. Some minor ghosting in fast scenes but that is to be expected at the refresh rate. still no complaints

I purchased this TV open box and returned it after it stopped working the second day I had it. It had perfect sound, but no picture. So I returned it and exchanged it for a different TV.

Arrived early, light weight, easy to install on former Plasma TV bracket, used hdmi and one optical audio output and five minutes after putting in place it was working. Good clear and colorful picture. Well pleased.

I needed a larger TV than my 32 inch Sony Bravia. I needed a tv that I could tie into my older audio system. The new tvs of today are getting away from the old RCA jacks for audio out. This 48 inch sony tv had a headphone jack that the system allowed me to configure as an audio out. With this functionality I am able to continue to use my present audio system. The sound on the tv speakers is excellent. The picture is instant on almost and the clarity and sharpness of the picture is very satisfying. Great choice.

This tv has a great picture and being a gamer myself this is a great tv. Xbox and ps4 look fantastic with vibrant colors and dark blacks. the only drawback of have of the tv is the speakers. the sound is ok but the treble does not stand out like my older sony bravia tv. its almost as they added more bass to give it a deeper sound. this is more noticeable when playing games but this is not a deal breaker. also a small annoyance of mine is that the sony logo does not glow white when turned on. i know its nothing but i really enjoyed the logo when it was lit up while playing games or watching tv.

I bought other name brands and quickly returned the TVs. I have had a 40" Sony for years and my only complain was the size. I waited for this TV and even at 60hz, it has a better picture quality and far better sound quality then the other name brands. I stil can't believe the price! It also came with a wall mount #which requires you to buy your own screws#, which was easy to install considering the TVs light weight #just over 20 lbs#. If I get another TV in the future, it will most definitely be a Sony

Easy set up, Streaming works well, Sound is pretty good (much better than other tvs of comparable cost), Great for gaming, Refresh rate is excellent. Would purchase again.
