purchased this TV and out of the box it was defective, I own a lot of Sony products including an older Bravia and have always been very happy with the quality. Best But quickly replaced the tv and all is good except it's a little hard to negotiate...salesman told us you can do Facebook on this unit but haven't been able to find where....hoping the first was just a fluke

So far exceeds all my expectations. Brought it home and within 10 minutes it was set up showing me what I had been missing. The only complaint I had was the sound. Really low quality sound. However, I quickly solved that problem by adding a ZVOX 350 SoundBase. Wow. Night and day difference. The ZVOX turned this Great TV into a "whatever is way better than great" TV. I couldn't be happier with the combo of the Sony TV and it's amazing picture and the ZVOX and it's beautiful sound. I am amazed with these purchases and heartily recommend both products. The TV is just such a great value. I love my new TV setup. Great experience from Best Buy, who adjusted the price downward a couple weeks after purchase and promptly refunded the difference back to me. Bought the ZVOX from Amazon -- all good there too. I would have bought a larger ZVOX but had a space constraint. I can't imagine how good the bigger models must sound given how good the 350 performs. You can't go wrong with their products. Much sweeter sound than Bose I have to say.

You can't ever go wrong with Sony. I am a 62 yr. old woman and if I can put the stand on, carry the television and program it myself . . . then a monkey can do it! The picture is clear and crisp . . . love this purchase.

I returned a sharp aquos and got this Sony instead. Well worth it! The picture is great and the amount of apps built in is awesome. If you're debating between this and sharp save yourself the time and hassle and get the Sony.

This TV was very easy to set up. Two screws connect the stand. Connected to a standard Verizon cable box using RCA cables. Red ,yellow and white went into the cable box and the same went into the Sony TV. Done. Turn the TV on and follow the on screen prompts . That's it. Took about 10 minutes. The picture is beautiful . The sound is very good and the volume can be turned up with no problem .The TV turns on in two seconds. Changing between TV and Apps. takes a second.

Overall this is a very nice tv. The sound quality isn't the greatest, but it's not the worst either. Sometimes the picture clarity looks a little grainy. I love the smart features. It's really nice to be able to watch things from hulu and Netflix.

I purchased this TV on sale $599 but had to return it because it had a small crack in the screen. The Screen is way too flexible and can be easily damaged when removing from carton. I decided to purchase the larger more expensive ($300 more for 2 more inches and 120Hz and a stand that helps to effectively stiffen the display panel ) 50" 120Hz better constructed Sony Model KDL50W700B. Very disappointed KDL50W700B was not on sale $899 at the time.

    Pros & Cons

My husband and I purchased this Sony Bravia Smart TV strictly for watching online content only (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Project Free TV). This review is based on our 3-day/night experience. This TV has a lot going for it and also a few issues. Overall it's big, beautiful, easy to navigate. We had to return it, as it didn't meet our specific needs (see the 'cons'). PROS: *Great price for a 48" *Lightweight especially for the size *Tiny border - this baby is all screen! *Unobtrusive, easy to install stand *Wireless internet connection *Rich, bassy (loud) sound *Onscreen keyboard controlled with remote (included) *Multiple USB and HDMI ports; side and rear locations *An audio-out (for hooking up a bluetooth adapter) *Runs Netflix great *Can browse the internet on the included Opera browser CONS: *Blurry rendering most noticeable on faces when transitioning from still to motion; it looks like a camera going in and out of focus. *The Amazon App is not functional as of the date of this review ('This service is coming soon. Please try again later') *The Hulu App is for Hulu Plus subscribers only, not regular Hulu shows *Cannot watch Amazon videos or Hulu videos on their respective websites because flash is required, which isn't compatible with the TV *Wireless mouse works, but are forced to use the onscreen keyboard which is slow when having to type entire URLs or long usernames/passwords * CAN watch Project Free TV videos but in the small embedded window only (cannot enlarge or full-screen) In conclusion - while beautiful and a good price - this wasn't as 'net and stream friendly' as we think a Smart TV should be. And if you want it for accessing online content or browsing any internet pages, be aware that it's not a computer so processing speed is slow and anything that requires Flash will NOT load since it's not flash capable.

This TV does every thing Sony advertises.

I purchased this TV on 5/27/2015. The initial set up was easy, just followed the prompts supplied by Sony paper and I manual. Now for the negative side of the total set up package. It took me two months to figure out how to set up every thing, I'm talking advanced but it was well worth it. I read all of the negative reviews first and it almost shied me away. One thing that I read a lot is the media player will not work for one reason or another. WRONG. I spent some time googling this problem and with patience I was able to figure it out. Again, the time I invested and the final outcome was well worth the effort. I also want to thank all of the Best Buy Associates for their help and professional knowledge. CUDOS Best Buy

    My second sony TV

This is a replacement for my aging Sony LCD TV which is still working good but I decided that it is time for an upgrade. I intended to buy a Samsung which happened to be out of stock, while looking around I found this TV. I was glad that I went with Sony again. First because of the familiarity with the settings. The picture quality is good especially with blu ray, set up was pretty easy, it connected right away with my home network. The sound quality of the speakers are just normal for TV, most people these days have a decent home theater set up anyway to enjoy their movies.

    Great picture, terrible wifi/netflix

I bought this TV mainly to watch netflix with wifi. Having the netflix button on the remote control is awesome. The TV works great for the first two weeks. Picture is great. Sound is OK. Netflix worked fine. Just after my TV hit the 2 weeks mark, I started having problems with Netflix. I read a few online threads, it came down to: rebooting my router, sign out of all my netflix sessions. Finally after a good 15 minutes of troubleshooting I can watch netflix again with this TV. Netflix works fine for two days. Then today, the same problem happened again. It said it cannot detect any wifi connection, while my laptop, iphone, etc. all have no internet connection problem at all. I totally regret this purchase and too bad it passes the return timeframe before this problem comes up.

I recently bought this smart TV because it has a great price in comparison to other brands. The quality of the video and sound is really good, the menu is user-friendly, the remote control is decent and user-friendly as well, and so forth. However, the one app that I had in mind when I bought the TV for does not work properly: Netflix. The app either crashes every now and then or the streaming stops and when it buffers, it stops at 25%. I have contacted Netflix and all the answers I have been given are not ultimately helpful. Also, earlier, I opened a question in this website about this very same problem and a Sony representative basically said there was probably a problem with my connection. The only problem is that there isn't. According to Netflix, you need a minimum of 10mbps to stream HD content. According to the tests I ran, my internet speed is of 40mbps. When I run Netflix in my iPhone or my Macbook I never have this issue. I've searched the web looking for an answer (there are other TVs and video game system facing this problem as well) and the general consensus seems to be that the problem is not the internet speed of the user. I appreciate the effort of Sony to contact their clients and help them out, I really do, but sadly, my experience with this product has not been the one I expected, especially after investing such amount of money. I realize for many this has not been the case, but at least in my case, the app has not been optimal.
