    NO Soap Opera Effect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simple, if you hate that dumb soap opera effect, this is the TV to get. And it comes with a slew of option, its stunning the video and the audio is actually very loud for the size. Look, I cam from a 50" rear projection, never had soap opera, and never wanted it, but my TV had to go... so I looked and looked and looked and found it. This TV I guarantee you has NO soap opera effect yet is just as glorious as the others, if not better. Trust these reviews. They are 100% accurate.

Also have the 40" version of this in the bedroom and now the 48" mounted above the fireplace. Great picture, good sound for a TV and easy set-up.

Bought one for living room and loved it. Tried a somewhat cheaper Samsung 46" 5300 series for the bedroom but it was sluggish as a smart device. The Samsung takes forever to boot up the smart hub and always needs to update, also loses apps. Sony also has better connectivity, particularly for external analog sound. The Sony automatically connected to our network external WD drive, the Samsung did not. So back went the Samsung and we got another Sony from Best Buy. The Sony works slicker and much quicker imo. Picture was comparable with the Samsung. Ed

This was to replace the master bedroom Sony 37” Plasma TV’s that I have owned for 10 years. Still working and a great picture but moved it to a second bedroom. I originally purchased a LG 42” that was on sale for $250. Great price but a big step down in picture quality. Began shopping in the $500 price range and narrowed it down to the Vizio 42” M series and the Sony 48” 1080P, both with great reviews on Rtings.com and Best Buy.com. Did not need 4K and the Sony just looked better while watching in store and even better at home. Never thought I would be happy with an LED TV but the picture rivals the plasma. Very happy with the purchase.

    Great TV - Wi-Fi Problem - Disappointed W/ Service

    Posted .

I'll be honest and admit that I got an "open box" version of the Bravia 48". Keeping that in mind, still disappointed with the service I received at Best Buy in Irving, Texas. Was absolutely thrilled when we got it home (and saved $70 with the open box price, wow!). The wired LAN connection was great and the Smart TV functionality made it perfect for my needs as I am not overly tech savvy. I appreciated the Smart TV for a great price and a quality name like Sony. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the TV. The Wi-Fi would not connect, so after calling Sony, I returned to Best Buy to see if they would help with a solution. They initially wanted to charge me for even looking at the system and recommended I return the TV instead of paying to have "Geek Squad" look at it. I said, "okay but I would still like the TV... it's great and I thought I got a great deal... will you honor the 'open box price' on a replacement for my trouble?" That's when "Geek Squad" decided to look at the TV and confirmed that the Wi-Fi was indeed compromised because of an internal issue with that particular unit, he said that they could not fix it in house and would not honor the price on a new unit. Am I asking too much here? You be the judge, perhaps I "got what I paid for." Regardless, I expect a "Best Buy inspected" product to be able to handle a basic function like a wireless connection. I'm very disappointed with this visit to Best Buy. I wasted time and feel that Best Buy was not interested in customer service. While I do intend to shop at Best Buy again, this last experience did nothing to boost my confidence in the brand. The staff there was nice enough, which makes me consider that this is a broader policy issue for Best Buy. I think they could and should do better.

Bought this to replace the TV in our bedroom. The picture clarity is amazing and the sound is good enough for the bedroom without requiring a sound bar or any additional speakers. It's much slimmer than the TV it replaced and looks very nice on the wall. Definitely a great buy at a great price.

I purchased one of these and within 3 months the picture started generating vertical interlacing lines that would start out on the left side of the picture and would progress to the right side of the screen within 30 minutes. I would shut the television off for about 15 minutes and power it back on and it would be fine, but within 10 minutes the same thing. To make a long story short, it was under warranty and had the Geek Squad come out and it was found to have a defective video board (figures), and was told that the board would have to be ordered and would take up to 4 weeks for delivery and the technician would have to come back and swap out the video boards, which the technician did, but I had to put up with that issue for about 3-4 weeks before the TV was repaired. What a hassle. Though it fixed the problem, the TV is on about it 4th year and now I am having issues again with the video shadowing pertaining to the right side of the screen and now I have the Geek Suad coming out to diagnose the problem tomorrow. It is a $80.00 service charge just to come out to my home and diagnose the problem, not including the repair. If it costs more than $300.00 to repair, it may be going in the garbage. Don't be sucked in by the name when purchasing a TV. Sony = junk in my opinion.

We selected this Sony because it seems to provide the best blend of decent picture, moderate size, and reasonable price. We are not heavy movie watchers, so it has only been tested on a few so far, but we have watched a lot of hockey and have been pleased by the picture quality, especially given rapid camera movements with NHL games. For streaming we did end up preferring our old Roku over the built in Sony options, but this was not a big issue as there are plenty of HDMI inputs. Overall a good value and a better picture quality than some other brands that were slightly larger and around the same price.

Great little TV - only one small caveat

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I like everything about this TV, as I do with most Sony products...except for one small item. It's nit-picking, really. I have a Sony 2.1 soundbar that I've used for several years with my Sony DLP tv. When it dies, we got this flat screen. Everything worked great, except it won't do the "BraviaSync" to the soundbar so that I can use just 1 remote and control the soundbar through the TV. There's a model list in the TV menu, and the model 1 up from mine works, and one up from there. Sony is usually pretty good about backwards compatibility with other components, but not on this one as much. Worst part? It even syncs with the Samsung BD player... Other than that, a great TV - especially for the price.

This TV has been a great addition for me. The smart features are a big plus since you can stream services such as Netflix through the TV. A couple things I like about Sony over some others in this price range was that the TV stand wasn't as wide as others (a requirement for me due to my small entertainment cabinet that it now sits on) and an added 3.5 mm audio jack. One issue that has become increasingly annoying to me however is that sometimes right after I hit play on a movie in the Netflix app, the TV automatically shifts back to TV viewing mode and I have to restart Netflix. This gets very annoying after it happens a few times in a row and seems to only happen on my Sony TV and not with my other Smart TVs (LG and Samsung). That being said I would still buy this TV again.

We have had this TV for over a year and can't say anything but GREAT things about it. I was the sceptical wife who thought it was overkill but I now agree with my husband, Great TV and WONDERFUL picture. I was afraid it was too big for our living room and the picture wouldn't be good if you were too close or at an angle. It's great at any angle or however close you are. If you are debating on buying, go for it!!

Had a Sony 40'' hd tv for a few years but wanted a bigger sized one so i got this new one. Has a great looking picture with lots of adjustments you can do to it. Has quick access to the apps and loads quickly to the internet. The sound is ok but not bad for a tv speaker but much better then my brother's Samsung. This is my third Sony tv in a row and so far no problems at all so i am very happy with the purchase.

After having a 51" Samsung Plasma, a line appeared in the screen from top to the bottom. It was a shame because of the outstanding picture quality. I then went with a 50" Vizio that required unplugging the power cord to turn it on. Next was this Sony and I was sold. Sony has been around for years with an outstanding quality reputation.

Ordered 2 48" Bravia within 2 months from on-line and both TVs had to be replaced due to Mfg. defects. One had dead pixels and the other had a flaw in the glass. Not happy with Best Buy on-line service and will not order from them again. Don't know if Sony fault or Best Buy ware house supply is bad.
