    Disappointed with Bravia KDL-48W600B

Purchased to replace 10 year old Magnavox 37" LCD TV. Picture good at times but black levels and motion are very bad and at times the picture is hazy in and out depending on the background scene. My Magnavox has a superior image. I will be returning it this weekend and start my search again. Also when I opened the box it looked as if the whole unit had been opened before and the stand was in a plastic bag but it wasn't sealed as the other part bags were. The purchase and customer service at the store need help also. Was informed that the TV wasn't in stock at that store and it would be a week before one would come in or I could drive to another store. (17 miles away) I asked if they could ship it to the local store but was told no, they don't provide that service. Did not feel like I was treated as the customer. More like, if you don't like our service, go somewhere else.

    Nice TV for the price

The picture is clear, it never cuts out and the sound quality is just okay. I did purchase a sound bar, which makes it much better. The issue I'm having now is that I keep getting an error message when using Apps on the smart TV portion. I would buy the warranty for it, if I had to do it over again.

Unimpressive 60Hz, Good picture, terrible menu

I gave it a 2 because even with Motionflow XR 240 the 60Hz still looked bad to me. Like: Very good image clarity, sharpness, detail Color reproduction was good Weight was impressively light Great connectivity Basic wall-mount included Dislikes: 60Hz, even with the "Motionflow XR 240" rating, looks stuttery and jumpy in scenes with lots of motion The menu is horribly slow Menu is ugly and poorly laid out External power brick Flimsy power connection Unusually thick for a tv with external power brick Flimsy stand Boxy sounding audio, definitely needs a sound-bar Recommended for people that don't like the smoothness of 120Hz

    Terrible product. Terrible support.

This is a terrible product from a terrible company with awful support. After my TV developed flickering colors with the picture, I contacted Sony support. They were quite unhelpful and got all my information wrong. A second time I called - their computers were not working, so they asked me to call again later in the day. The third time I called - I had to repeat all my information again as the first person who took my info, got everything wrong - where i purchased it, what was wrong with the tv, etc etc.. The replacement arrived after a month - they didn't have any in stock. They promised to contact me within a day when I inquired what was going on - and of course, they didn't. Finally, the TV arrived, and it was with a bad picture on arrival, this time a different thing - possibly damaged during transportation - some white/black spots in the middle of the picture. The smart features are terribly slow and clumsy - don't even both, you're much better off buying a Roku. Also, my first problem started happening after I did a software update - maybe it overheaded a chip or something. I don't know. But I'm not buying Sony again.

This tv is pretty great! I've always loved Sony in the first place. There's so much to do on this tv and so many apps that are available. The web feature is somewhat hard to navigate and use but overall the tv and the ease of use is perfect.

Went to this Sony from a dinosaur Sylvania LCD. About 30 minutes setup time. Not really home theater sound, but wasn't looking for that. Excellent picture, more than adequate audio.

Inspected by Best Buy? YEAH RIGHT!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I'm starting to believe that Best Buy doesn't actually inspect the TVs they ship as open box "inspected" and just reships the returns to unsuspecting customers without doing much more than opening the box and making sure the remote and manual are there. I ordered the "open box-excellent" version of this TV thinking I was getting a good price on a nice TV. What they delivered was a completely broken TV - the plastic frame busted apart on the bottom left corner, the LCD shifted down within the frame on the left side, and the whole left side of the LCD is covered in cracks. The TV was well packed in the original box with all original packing materials properly padding the TV from all sides, and that box was itself placed in a larger cardboard box, padded well by air packets. Yet all of the people I spoke with on the phone insisted that it must have been damaged during shipping (which I kept assuring them was the least likely of all possible explanations given the pristine state of the packaging), and they refuse to refund or return or reship for two weeks while Best Buy files a claim with UPS. I don't believe for one second that UPS managed to mangle the TV this badly inside two well padded layers of boxes without causing even one dent or scratch to either box. I trust that Best Buy will make this situation right and deliver on their promises and honor their replacement policy not in two weeks, but immediately, because at this point I'm very disappointed. There's no way a customer should be expected to sit there for two weeks while Best Buy plays phone tag when all they have to do on their end is send a return label and deal with the problem on their own time. Getting my money back after two weeks of hassle is not why I purchased the TV - I purchased a fully functional TV that "look[s] brand new — with no physical flaws, scratches or scuffs" and I expect to receive that - promptly, and without any more hassle. I will post an update if the status changes in the near future - I still have hope that Best Buy can do better than this.

decent sound picture motion not decent

Bought this TV instead of another TV because of advice from store employee. Was told it was 120 hrz native but is actually 60 hrz. The motion upgrade to 240 hrz is not reliable or good even when it does kick in. I plan on seeing if I can return it for LG with native 120 hrz.

Really enjoy this TV. Picture is great, can't comment on the sound as I use a sound bar. Only complaint and reason it is 4/5 is that the apps available do not include HBOGO.

    Great tv, dead pixels

I love the picture quality on this tv, I even got a blu ray calibration disc and there was barely any changes needed. Unfortunately within 2 days it got a dead pixel, no big deal, went to best buy and exchanged it for a a new one... and this one got 2 dead pixels within a week and returned it. Maybe it's just bad luck but I can't risk getting another one. If it wasn't for the pixels I would give it 5 stars.

    Terrible sound

I was planning to buy a Samsung smart TV like the one I have for my daughter. While shopping, the Best Buy salesman convinced me to buy this Sony telling me it had more and better apps and the picture was just as good as the Samsung. The picture is okay but the sound is terrible. I have to turn the volume up to two thirds to hear the sound. In addition, the processor must be slower than the Samsung as it takes about two minutes for the set to fully come on and connect to the internet. The 15 day return time has passed so I'm going to buy a sound bar to try to improve the sound.
