I'm so glad we made the switch. The picture is unbelievable and the sound is great. It's a bit wider at the bottom so the speakers point down instead of to the rear - that makes a big difference. The Sony is certainly more expensive, but not having to buy a sound bar made it cost effective. It's a great TV.

A friend of mine recently bought a higher end samsung 55". Yet, picture was not as sharp (in my opinion) but most importantly to me, the smart tv features were very slow to load and he would often just lose the signal eventhough his router was only 15 ft away and he has a rather hi-speed plan. I have downgraded to one of the slower internet plans and my sony has zero problem with netflix, my laptop and phone all streaming at the same time. Never drops the signal and boots quickly. Fantastic tv, yes... Of course sound sucks. However, not bad for a small bedroom.
