We are truly sorry to hear about the setup issues you are experiencing with your SA-RS8 rear speakers and sincerely apologize for the frustration of them not working right out of the box. Having them completely stop working immediately after setup is definitely not the smooth experience we want for you.
Connection drops or sync failures during the initial setup can sometimes happen due to a temporary wireless glitch or a pairing sequence issue with the main soundbar. We would love to help you get this sorted out before you give up on them completely. Please try performing a quick power cycle by unplugging both the rear speakers and your main soundbar from the wall for about two minutes, then plug them back in to let them re-sync.

Installation was surprisingly complicated

You have to download Sony's app on to your phone to allow the system to "find" the new speakers on wireless.
