The true 5.1 setup with rear speakers and subwoofer makes a big difference—you actually feel surrounded by the sound, not just hearing it from the front. Dialogue is clear thanks to the center channel, and the bass hits hard without being muddy. Movies and shows feel way more immersive, especially with Dolby Atmos support. Setup was straightforward, and once it’s dialed in, it fills the room easily. Music sounds great too, not just movies. Only downside is you’ll need a little space for the rear speakers, but that’s expected with a real surround system. Overall, powerful, immersive, and worth it if you want a true home theater experience.

Great sound, easy to connect and setup. Subwoofer sounds awesome and the app is easy to use. I wish the rear speakers were wireless completely but they still have wires to small receiver unit.

I always trip out when I hear noise coming from the rear speakers because it always sounds like the conversation is happening in the room. You will definitely feel immersed. And it’s awesome that they have an app for your phone wear you can tweak settings and use it as a remote. You won’t regret this purchase.

Great Home Theater System

I pretty quickly realized that the sound was average at best and returned it for this system. I could not be happier with its performance and fullness of the sound. This is a great home theater system for the money. It is important to note that the rear speakers are powered by wires that connect to a wireless hub that needs to be plugged in.

This system is a lot better. My wife sometimes thinks someone is at the door. She was watching a show and she said that the person's voice was coming from the front and the background noise was to the rear. I'm happy.

Great crisp voice, enough base which can be fully controlled. Nice set up, for rear speakers. They sound amazing. Pretty happy with what I can feel while watching 5.1 and Dolby atmos contents. It certainly does magic. 100% worth.

Very strange and I don't know if I have the worst luck with wireless surround speakers but these constantly crackle. This is the main reason I bought these was because I had another surround speaker that did the same. I don't have any interference with wifi anywhere.

To answer your question about the soundbar needing to be plugged into the amplifier: some soundbars are designed this way to make sure you get the best sound quality and a stable connection. It helps reduce signal loss and keeps everything working smoothly, but we understand it can feel a bit inconvenient.
About the crackling from your wireless surround speakers, let’s try a few steps that might help:
-Turn off the soundbar and speakers, unplug them for a minute, then plug them back in and turn them on again.
-Make sure the speakers and soundbar are not too far apart and there are no big objects or thick walls between them.
-Open the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app.
Select Settings → Wireless Speaker Connection Settings.
Disable the Optimizing Connection Frequency setting and enable it again.
-Check if your soundbar has any software updates available and install them if possible.

We're glad to hear you are experiencing very good sound quality from the BRAVIA Theater System 6! To clarify, the rear speakers use a compact wireless amplifier box to communicate wirelessly with the front bar and subwoofer, but require a short, wired connection to that small amplifier box to receive power. This design minimizes the wire run to just the area behind your seating, giving you the benefit of true rear channels without running long wires across the entire room.

I have the top of the line Samsung as well and I favor this set up due to the bass. In comparison I set the bass on this to +2 dB on the mobile app settings and on the Samsung I have it to max at +6 and this Sony knocked it out of the water for bass. As far as voice the Samsung is slightly better but in terms of value this is by far the better option in my opinion. It took me a while to set up the speakers how I like I went with 4.5 dB on the rear speakers and a 0 for additional adjustments
