Good sound for what it is,much better sound than other small boxes I have had.If your looking looking for ground shaking volume don't buy this.It is a small portable radio,I like the size and features.

Beautiful unit, easy buttons, megabass and a beautiful clear sound....Highly recommend as the sound quality is phenomenal, both the CD and Radio sound just like my old Bose...........THANK YOU SONY

I needed a boombox to play CD's. Happy with the features. Boombox is compact and easy to carry. Radio gets great reception. The cord is long. Was able to reach about five feet to the power strip.

I've shopped around for a boombox for quite awhile. I've had several over the years and lately they've been hard to find. I purchased this for my office and was looking for some specific features. Compared to similar products I've owned in the past, this one is mediocre. It's better than some others on the market currently but is definitely lower quality than those I bought 5 or 10 years ago. The sound quality is acceptable--not great but tolerable. It has some features I wanted but was disappointed to learn that the product description is not accurate. One feature I liked was the 30 radio presets. Sony says it has 30 but their instructions say it has 3 and their customer service confirmed this. I could overlook it if it had 10 or 15 but 3 is not enough to save the stations I listen to most often. Overall, the product feels flimsy and not nearly as sturdy as past models. Given this, I'd recommend saving some money and getting a cheaper product as this one did not deliver. If you want a high quality sound, go with something more expensive as most audiophiles will be disappointed with this.

Good sound, nice features that are easy to use, very portable

I wanted good speakers and a way to play my CDs. The Bluetooth capability is a plus.

This boom box has good sound & is fairly easy to operate.

Great set of features and sound quality is ok at real listening volumes. If you try to crank up the volume its not usable for music but ok for speech. Only thing i would change is have a remote control.

I like this boombox. AM-FM reception and sound quality are good. CD and flash drive sound quality are good for a boombox of this size. I like the ability to record from CD to flash drive, though Microsoft Media Player is better for ripping CD's.

I bought this radio specifally to use when i go to the beach/pool. It is wonderful, great sound, durable, and easy to carry around. I would recommend it !

Nice compact size. The sound is great. A real quality item. Plays CDs flawlessly. Much better than I expected, given the price. Easy to operate. Nice on a desk.

The Sony Boombox is compact but offers a good sound. The display window is in the front and easy to read. The controls are well marked and easy to access. The top-loading disc player is a plus.

As an audio engineer and recording engineer, I am familiar with really good sound. This Sony boombox does sound very good for its price. Compared to the excellent, discontinued Sony XPlod boombox ($250 - $400), this model has less deep bass and slightly harsher upper midrange. But if you put it on the floor, by a wall or in a corner, and listen off-axis, it has more bass and smoother highs (which is true of any speaker). All the functions worked fine. The 1-star reviewers who say "Piece of junk - save your money" clearly have received a lemon. Most of these boomboxes are perfectly okay. This model played loud and clear, had good FM reception, and was very portable. Great job, Sony.

Pretty good, overall. But CD player died, fast, in a few mths, it's flimsy, & not durable. I did get the Accident Plan Warranty, w/ BB, essential, & cheap, worth it! Will replace boombox, with similar one, soon, for free. Radio is superb, Sony quality sound, and CD pretty good, too, though more bass, less treble, but adjustable, with one button, for more treble. All compact, easy to carry, & move. Nice to have in study room, or by the bed, & take it out, to wherever you need to travel around, as I've done. Not sure if CD player, lasts longer, if stationary, maybe.

I have many radios in different building on my property but this Sony BY FAR gets the best reception and makes me very happy because I don't have to move it all around to find the special place where it brings in my favorite stations. I really was planning on using the blue tooth off of my iphone to get stations from my wifi but was pleasantly surprised to find that it brings them in just fine by itself. I think it sounds great and although one guy said it only has three presets, there are actually 30. Yes there are three preset buttons on top but those are for convenience for one button start up of your top favorites. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this radio and no, I don't work for Sony.
