Even then, for listening to music, that is too much work for my 87/89-year-old grandparents. This was an easy machine to work and they like the small size.

After 10 years, i decided to try an updated version. Not a good choice. It was sooo confusing trying to program channels that I said return it. Other function buttons were confusing to use as well. No radio should be that hard to use or program. The sound was average. I prefer my old model. Didn’t test the CD. I hope they will revise this and make it more user friendly. Speakers had some crackle scratchy sounds in most stations except one on fm channel. . Was disappointed this wasn’t what it knew of Sony products. Plz revise.

The quality of the sound is good with the Mega Base selected, but slightly tinny when not selected. The sound quality is good with SkullCandy headphones attached. The compact size of the player is ideal for small areas such as nightstands and shelves.

Caution keep your receipt as it might not play some older CD's. I kept it as it plays what I own and I wanted a radio with good sound in the garage.
