Not looking for out of this world sound, but needed to replace old Bose Lifestyle system because not compatible with new stuff coming out. Did not want to replace speakers installed in wall. After much research, realized this woofer would fit the bill and compatible with new receiver and tvs.

If you get one give it a little patience In the beginning because it needs a break in period and maybe few adjustments on your receiver settings and that’s it. I like it a lot makes watching movies way better.

The first MartinLogan failed within two years and the warranty replacement SW ailed a few months after the warranty expired. Went back to Sony.

Works as I expected. It has an auto off feature that will turn it off when the bass isn't being used in the current scene, which I turned off because I just got annoyed hearing it click on and off constantly.

The sub didn't seem to hit that hard and at times I barely noticed it while other times I did but it felt like something was missing. The sub retails at $200, however, it was on sale for,$100+ I had a $50 gift card so I only ended up paying,$50 for it. The sub definitely is not worth $200 but at $50 it was worth the purchase. I took it back bc the Polk psw10 came back in stock and it was only about $80 after the gift card and it received way better reviews. So I exchanged the Sony for the Polk and paid the $30 or so difference. The Sony is fine if you have no other option it is better then having no sub. I will place a comparison review of the Polk when it arrives this week.

Posted .Hi ghmcmur, it is unfortunate to hear our SA-CS9 115W 10” Active Subwoofer did not meet your expectations and that it needs to be returned. We’re not sure which brand of amplifier/AV receiver you have this subwoofer connected to, however, please ensure the connections have been correctly made. You need to turn the LEVEL clockwise to turn the volume up of the subwoofer. You may also find different sources will perform better than others due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
We will have this opportunity noted as we always strive to make this a better experience.

This one is a bit anemic but since it’s for my second stereo, I am not that hung up on quality. If that was for my primary stereo, I’d spend more money to get the performance. But again, good value for the money.
