I tried going without a woofer for my home theater system but decided to add one and g,ad I did. I didn’t trust the reviews of this one as it was very inexpensive, however I am completely impressed by its performance , reliability, ease of hook up and of course its sound. This adds all the bass I need and then some.

Sony has been making great products for your every day Audiophile for over 50 years. This active subwoofer is no exception to the sound quality they've been delivering to people who want clear, and loud, bass added to their home theater systems. I connected one to my Yamaha YAS 108 or 1080 sound bar. Most sound bars do not have a subwoofer out cable port. But the Yamaha sound bars are designed with more innovation than your average and very affordable models. The Sony Core 10" 115W delivers crisp and powerful bass with clear tones and does not get muddy when you want to really crank the volume up for Movie Night! It also comes with a normal and reverse Phaser in order to balance the sound coming from your set up. Whether it's a receiver with dedicated speakers or the config I'm using. The only drawback I've encountered is you need to be careful when moving it around. Sometimes the amplifier starts to loop. Causing a slight thumping sound and reduced sound. However this can be easily resolved by turning of your cable box and TV. Wait a moment, then reboot everything. It doesn't fix the problem immediately, but the problem goes away shortly after. This may be a problem specific to the one I purchased, and I'm calling SONY to either get it fixed or replaced. But in the end it's not a huge setback for the product and I would still recommend this item to anyone looking for an Active or Powered Sub.

Sony 10 inch Core subwoofer has 115 watts of surporting bass to match your specific speaker set up. Perfect for a small room, gaming, movies, wirh good bass sound. A little pricey, but it is a sony subwoofer after all. When a 12 inch subwoofer is too much for your space, this cone firing sub will do the job. I always know Sony products are good quality equipment. Basically a plug and play speaker with little to no adjustments.

Clean and crisp is not what is usually used to describe a sub, but this speaker is outstanding for both its size and price. Fills A small to medium room nicely. Strong on the bottom with excellent musicality. You will not be disappointed!

Sounds good for a little box. Puts out a surprising thump for a 10" sub. It is small enough to fit under my desk and still give me room to sit.

If you can get this item on sale, it is a great value (I paid $100). At full price I would look for something a little nicer/higher powered. I have it hooked up to a Pioneer receiver and it literally shakes the house while watching movies. My son said it sounds like we are watching the movie at a theater.

Replaced my old subwoofer with this one. I bought an open box item. It sounds great and perfect for my family room theater

Plugged into the receiver, used the included audio cable and got just the low end kick I needed. Took a little bit to tweak the level, but I don’t need to once the sweet spot was found. Hood value for me.

Excellent addition to my system. Had an older subwoofer that I moved to the basement. This one sounds great and not overpowering.

Standard 10" Sub. I keep mine on 50% sound capacity - it can get loud and rattle windows if I put it up full volume! Placed mine in a perforated cabinet in a 5.1 setup with the receiver and it was plug and play - works great.

I've never owned a subwoofer before because I don't think they truly represent the music as recorded as well as a well balanced set of speakers. However, I never sit down and solely listen to music so I wanted something that would boost the bass spectrum across my living, dining and family areas to compliment my 3-way Sony bookshelf speakers. The key to these speakers is the pass filter that allows you to dial in the right frequency for a specific listening area. They are killer!

This is perfect for the theater room, It produces just enough bass to fill the room. Great quality. Easy setup, and auto on helps greatly.

Reasonable priced SUB. Sounds great! It doesn't turn off automatically... if no sound is detected after awhile though...? It, does have a switch on the back. I, just hooked a smart plug too it instead.

I sure enjoyed it's on yourself before cuz it brings out a lot of bass raise the other speakers don't even bring up and I love the volume control that it has you know it brings out a thump that I love I haven't really heard from the Yamaha but I'm glad I'm glad I got them and I finally got my three receipts eventually I'm going to give me the phone 7.1 receiver instead of using an older model receiver that I have from Sherwood

Let me start off by saying this sub sounds incredible for its price point. It hits very hard and has incredible mid range. I was very impressed at first.... then came the problems. I noticed it switched on and off quite frequently during normal tv watching, and it has an audible click when it turns on and turns off. I thought well that’s no biggie, the click is sort of annoying but I’ll get used to it... then I watched my first movie and that’s where it all went down hill. The time out on auto is like 5 minutes or less, then when something happens in the movie, you hear it click then the bass kicks in super delayed. Most subs have a 15-20 minute time out. This one was definitely less than 5 mins. Therefore I returned it and got the klipsch 12 and was very happy. I own all other sony core speakers though and they are incredible. The sub has been the only flawed one.

When this thing goes on sale, and you need one. GRAB IT. It makes sound so much more wholesome. Yes, there are bigger and better ones out there, but for the price and value of what I paid for it, I'd buy it again if it blows.

Great value. Good, clean sounding sub for the price and power. It will adequately enhance your viewing experience and pop those lows for a medium size living room or smaller theater room.

This subwoofer exceeds expectations even in just a 2.1 surround setup. Just plug into the receiver and you are now set. Not to deep bass but enough to drive a decent loud home theater setup for any small or midsize room. Build quality is great at its price range.

Great value, to add bass, to your system. Watch for special pricing. to make the acquisition even better. Use careful attention when adjusting the cross-over and volume dials, to optimize the clarity, and to minimize distortion.

Bought this to replace my Definitive Technology subwoofer that died. I did my research and am VERY satisfied. The price is excellent for the amount of bass produced.
