Just plug into the receiver and you are now set. Not to deep bass but enough to drive a decent loud home theater setup for any small or midsize room. Build quality is great at its price range.

It will turn itself off if there is no low frequency signal but then turns itself back on when one comes through.

This one requires its own power supply, has sound quality adjustment controls & rocks the house for sound & power. Like it!

So much that my Wife thought it was thunder, lol! I adjusted it through my Sony Home Theater system. There is a slight delay when going from a quiet to loud sounds in a movie, but is acceptable because you get power savings when it's not in use. I bought this when it was on sale, but it would still be a solid choice at full price.

It was easy to setup in a couple of minutes. My Vizio Sound Bar lacked the bass quality on its highest setting. The Sony Subwoofer completes the lower frequency sound for a good bass feel. The price was great for such a high quality item. I recommend Sony products anytime.

Easily incorporated into a home theater system with subwoofer cable. Knobs on back control volume and cutoff (50hz - 200hz). Another nice setting is power save mode, which will turn off the sub if no signal is sent from the receiver. The sub also looks nice and does not stick out like a piece of equipment, but as an accent to the room.
