We are really sorry if the bass sound quality of our SA-CS9 didn't live up to your expectations. This is definitely not the news that we would like to hear. Depending on the audio source/audio device, the bass sound of our SA-CS9 may not be so noticeable. However, some of these issues can be fixed by adjusting the LEVEL control (clockwise) to turn the volume up of the subwoofer so that you can hear the bass sound a little more than before. You may also find different sources will perform better than others due to different types of audio compression and transmission.

Thank you for your review, and we are really sorry if the performance of our SA-CS9 115W 10” Active Subwoofer did not live up to your expectations. Let's try to isolate the problem by following the steps below and see if it improves your overall experience.
First, make sure that your subwoofer is connected properly to your Amplifier/AV receiver by following the steps on this link:

Second, depending on the audio source, the bass sound of our SA-CS9 may not be so noticeable. However, you may try adjusting the LEVEL control (clockwise) to turn the volume up of the subwoofer so that you can hear the bass sound a little more than before.
And lastly, you may find different sources will perform better than others due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
Additional information:
The SA-CS9 features an auto power on/off function. If there is no signal input for a few minutes, the POWER indicator lights up in red and the subwoofer enters power-saving mode. To turn off this power-saving mode, slide the POWER SAVE switch on the rear panel to OFF.

Now that everything is hooked up two months later, I couldn’t be more disappointed. I thought I could trust the Sony brand but these are the worst sounding, muddiest, lack of punch subwoofers I’ve ever listened to. My 1 single Polk subwoofer, of the same size, hits way lower, crisper, and louder than both of the Sony‘s combined. The difference is unbelievable. The single Polk on 1/4 power, still hits much harder and lower than both of the Sonys combined on maximum power. Plus the Polk is crisp and sounds like the thing it is supposed to be, whereas the Sony just sounds like sloppy mud. It is now too late for me to return them :( So, between these and an awful Sony amplifier I bought and gave away years ago, I am now convinced Sony is the worst major brand on the planet for audio equipment.

Was not enough power / bass for mine. Cranking it up creates distortion. Ended up returning it and getting BIC America - 12" 500W Powered Subwoofer - Black.

It's great for the price but let me be clear, this is not going to knock pictures off the wall. I got exactly what I wanted at this price range. Glad to know you like the incredible sound quality of your SACS9 subwoofer. We are sorry if the power save function is not working properly. To turn this feature on, slide the POWER SAVE switch on the rear panel to auto. If your signal contains sufficient low-end sound and the subwoofer is still not turning on while using this function, perform a power reset to help resolve the issue:
-Power off your device.
-Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
Note: Leave the power cord disconnected for at least 60 seconds.
-Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
Note: If your device is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not your device.
-Power on your device.
