Thank you for your review. We are sorry if our SACS9 subwoofer did not meet your expectations. Depending on the audio source, the bass sound of our SA-CS9 may not be so noticeable. However, you may try adjusting the LEVEL control (clockwise) to turn the volume up of the subwoofer so that you can hear the bass sound a little more than before.
You may also find different sources will perform better than others due to different types of audio compression and transmission.

Upon connecting it to my home theater setup I immediately got a very loud and annoying hum that would not go away. To be fair, I returned it for a brand new Klipsch subwoofer which was the brand of the rest of my speakers. I also got me a higher quality cable for the subwoofer. To this day I am not sure if the problem was the Sony subwoofer or the cable itself.

Plugged it in about 30 minutes ago. Dead out of the box. No power light (red or green). Nothing, notta, zippo, goose egg. Taking it back tomorrow morning and it appears that there are no more in stock so I will have to have it ordered and delivered in a few days. I am giving it 1 stars across the board until I get it replaced.

It is really unfortunate that you've encountered a power issue with your SA-CS9 right out of the box. This is usually not the case and the definitely not the experience we wanted you to have on our product.

However I was disappointed with the sound and quality. The bass sound was weak and not hitting very well. I wound up returning it and buy the Polk and wow what a difference.

I bought another one, 10" / 400 watt - which pleases my ear and soul :)
