Wow, is it on?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, I am 67 years old, bought Sony products since around 1966 on my own. I read reviews where people said they could not hear the subwoofer, I thought, they were probably spoiled kids. Then I bought two of them this afternoon, opened them up, everything fine. By the way, I have great hearing no problem. I thought they were defective, I could not hear any subwoofer, either of them, checked the connections, made sure they were on, and then I noticed, yes there is sound, but seems like 7 watts, no higher, not enough power to power the subwoofer. Anyways, after an hour I realized, that in order for me to tell these subwoofers were turned on and putting out sound, I had to disconnect my speakers, turn the subwoofer volume up. I am sorry, no apology from Sony necessary, these subwoofers are for a person that wants to hear very soft music, while on the phone with their boss, and they do not want their boss to hear the music. My clothes dryer, my dishwaser, are 99,99999 times louder then this subwoofer. Terrible!!!!!!!!!

Posted .Hi DanO,
We're so sorry if the bass sound quality of our SACS9 subwoofer did not meet your expectations. We’re not sure which brand of amplifier/AV receiver you have your subwoofer connected to, however, please ensure the connections have been correctly made. You need to turn the LEVEL clockwise to turn the volume up of the subwoofer and set the value of CUT OFF FREQ control to maximum (200Hz) to isolate the problem. You may also find different sources will perform better than others due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
We will have this opportunity noted as we always strive to make this a better experience.

Posted .Hi nobody, Thank you for your feedback on the SACS9. We're sorry to hear about the issues you've experienced with the humming noise. This is not the experience we aim to provide. To address the humming noise issue, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
Ensure that all cables are securely connected.
Avoid placing the unit near electrical appliances that may cause interference, such as televisions, hair dryers, or fluorescent lamps.
If the issue persists, try connecting the SACS9 to a different power outlet to rule out any electrical interference.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact our support team through this link: https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/service?language=en_US for further assistance. Or email us at socialsupport@am.sony.com with the following details:

Click click click
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When auto standby is selected it clicks every time the subwoofer turns on or off which is definitely noticeable and a deal breaker for me. For those who are planning on manually turning it on or off or leaving it on all the time this won't be an issue. In those situations I think the subwoofer performs well and is worth considering.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Base was just ok. Varied depending on music. Was heavier on Movies which was good but needed adjustment when playing Music. Overall quality of the box itself wasn’t that great. So so Looking Sub. Returned for a better Polk Sub

Subwoof not working with my receiver & speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I purchased this subwoofer today along with the Sony STRDH190 2.0-Ch. Stereo Receiver & the Sony SSCS5 - Core Series 5" 3-Way Bookshelf Speakers. I bought these to use with my Audio Technica LP120XUSB turntable. I connected everything right with speaker cables but for some reason only the (A) speaker & the subwoofer are making noise. But whenever the A & B speakers work, the subwoofer doesnt. Obviously I want the sub to work along with both speakers. What am I doing wrong?

Posted .Hi Hucci,
We are so sorry if you are having an issue playing your subwoofer together with your speakers when selecting A&B speakers. Selecting the A+B speaker setting on the Audio/Video stereo system will set the sound field to 2CH. With the system set to 2CH, the rear speakers and the subwoofer will not produce any sound, even if playing audio from a digital source.
We will have your review noted for the improvements to our product.

Seriously?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought mine because of brand, features, price, and overall reviews. I set it up, read through the detailed operation instructions, and noticed a surprise. The auto-on/off feature doesn't work for movies! So you have to find the power button low and in the back at the beginning and end of each movie you watch. I returned it and bought a great Klipsch sub.

Subwoofer Not Working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just received the subwoofer as a component within a Sony Surround Sound package for my living room. Unfortunately, the sub is not working- extremely frustrating for me to be writing this review- Now will need to spend time bringing it in to the Best Buy and getting a replacement.

Dont Waste Your Time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only buy bowers & wilkins, definitive technology, or martin logan. Dont waste your time with this guy it is the lowest quality component system sold here by far. It also costs $1000+ to build the whole system and at that point you are better off setting up a 2.1 or 5.1 arrangement with Martin Logan.

Posted .Hi ryannyc23, We regret to hear about your experience with your Sony subwoofer. Please make sure the cables of this subwoofer and the whole system are connected securely to their correct terminals. If the sound is distorted or you are hearing humming sound or noise, you can also unplug the cables and plug them back again to isolate the issue. Make sure the connected devices are up-to-date by performing a software update. If the audio system is picking up some noise from a TV set, move the audio system away from the TV set or turn the TV set off. If you are still having the same issue, you can email us at socialsupport@am.sony.com with the following details:
