||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the SACS9 subwoofer to compliment my Sony Core tower speakers (SS-CS3). WHAT I LIKED: I liked the build quality, ease of setup, and accurate controls, but returned this subwoofer after testing for a couple days. It did provide good atmospheric bass that I think would complement movie watching. WHY I RETURNED: In my room (15'x20'), the bass lacked the accuracy and punch that I was hoping to achieve for music listening. For example, it did not give kick drums the 'oomph' that I wanted to hear. Moreover, it did not represent low frequencies with equal volume levels. The lower it got, the quieter it became. I concluded that, despite the impressive build quality and features, the 70w RMS (115w Max) amplifier was under-powered. WHAT I DECIDED TO DO: I decided to spend a little more money, and buy the Klipsch R-100SW (on sale for around $175). My Klipsch is 150w RMS (300w Max), and the difference is night-and-day. If you are looking for something for music, I highly recommend getting something with more power.

I am not audiophile status meaning $50,000 and up home theater setup, so I would not recommend these for that person, but for the rest of us they are not only good but they have lasted years. I have a lot of sony products because my other brands didn't last more than a year to a year and a half.

Still got a lot to learn on new sys. as I had to down load 113 pages of instructions to understand directions for hooking all up, still got a lot to learn w/ all this new stuff. hopefully I,ll get it done cause I still want to hook up more things.

This one was simply unplug the old on and plug in the new one and it didnt cost too much either. Sounds great .

I couldnt be happier with this sub and the rest of my Sony speakers. I paired this sub with an STRDH750 receiver, a pair of SSCS3 speakers, and a SSCS8 center speaker. I am not an "audiophile" by any means, but I think this system sounds amazing. I happened to get all of these components while they were on sale also. Must say it was worth every penny.
