Clear sound and decent bass. this subwoofer is amazing

Solid product good sound and the speaker is compact

It sounds good with a full range for a subwoofer its size. I like that the internal amplifier turns itself off if no signal for a few minutes. My older, way more expensive Mini Velodyne subwoofer (which is also noticeably louder) won’t do that and uses up its amp in 4 years. The Sony was pretty much a steal at $109 about a month ago at Best Buy. Now it is reasonably worthwhile at $200. Do not expect it to blast you away with its 110 watt amp but it is strong enough for regular listening and dance time with 30 people.

This Sony bass subwoofer definitely produces robust detailed bass tones. Great clarity! It was the finishing touch to my great Home Theater buy over the Black Friday period. Words can't express how happy I am with my Sony 75" $K TH, Sony 4k Blu-ray player & my Sony 4k Receiver!!! The sales person was extremely knowledgeable and courteous!!! Thank you Best Buy!!!!

Easy to set up and worked really well with my system!

So this would be perfect to add to a small home theater or if you are in some type of place where you can't be that loud. Unfortunately in my system it is kind of quiet because it only does like 100 watts. My main loudspeakers do 160 watts per channel so 320 total at 8 ohms. This unit was just too quiet to do anything substantial for the bass because I couldn't even get it volume matched at max volume on this unit's volume control. My preamplifier has double RCA outputs and even at mid-level volume on my pre-amp it's just not loud enough. Would suggest you get something with at least 200-400 watts if you already have a regular HiFi system or movie watching system. But, if you're in a small room or want something quiet for a place where you have neighbors above or below you or to the side this may be the unit for you. Also running it on normal polarity helped immensely with the linearity of the response.

Good bass sound and easily operated by remote control.

Bought this as an add on to my Sony Str-dh820. Was immediately happy with it's performance. Has great bass and rattles my walls and windows. I've seen a ton of reviews where people say they need a second one. I wouldn't say I need a second one, but definitely want another. But just one provides excellent bass overall.

This Subwoofer provides just the right amount of bass for my basement entertainment area. The basement is a large open room and the subwoofer is near the back of the room. The bass travels throughout the room and provides great sounds for movies and music. I am very impressed with the performance of this subwoofer.

I was looking for something that gives a good sound, looks slick, and something the wallet approves of. This meets all those things. Threw me off at first with the power save mode which turns off sub if it doesn't detect much that it needs it. But once I saw the setting we were all good. Definitely a good buy. I would do it again.

Sony makes excellent audio gear and this is no exception. The bass is shockingly big and more than overkill for most apartments. There are several settings on the back to control the intensity. Fantastic speakers from my favorite company for home electronics.

Very good bass! hooked up to a Sony STR-DH790 with no problems using the RCA cable that was included. Replaced an old Sony SA-WMSP68 active subwoofer that i had for many years that had stopped working. very pleased and will probably be buying a 2nd one of theses in the future since the STR-DH790 has 2 sub outs.

Provides excellent bass response to the whole room. Highly recommend purchasing with the Sony STR-DH590 Multi Channel AV Receiver for home theater use. Easy set up with one RCA cable (provided) to port on receiver. Nice features include volume output control for bass level, cutoff frequency knob to eliminate certain sound ranges, and auto-off power control to save power when receiver powered down.

I bought two of these. I have been using one in my living room to supplement my in-ceiling speakers and it has definitely improved the range and quality of sound. I mostly use the sub and in-ceiling speakers for background music when entertaining or when cleaning the house or doing dishes and it does the trick. The sound is much better with the subs providing the bass range. I would recommend for the price. It would be a five star if the sound was even better, but I don't think I can do much better for the price.

Nice sounding sub hits hard and is very hifi. I use it with my Elac 5.2 and is outstanding combination.

I went to this from an infinity syb that started popping. The bass is great but I wish it aimed towards rhe floor like my infinity sub did. I recommend hiding it behind something instead of having it face you to have a more realistic boom feel.

The Sony SA-CS9 subwoofer is a basic ,but excellent choice for complimenting a 5.1 system in a small to medium size room like mine. Besides it being on sale for the holidays, the reviews that I read online for this particular subwoofer were well received by all the professional reviewers. This, plus that it was a Sony product, influenced me to seriously consider it on my short list of subwoofers to chose from. It did take a bit of trial and error to find about a perfect location to get the optimal performance from it, but it was well worth the effort. This sub works well with movies soundtracks that feature a lot of low frequency effects, and greatly enhances the overall experience that one gets from action, science fiction, and superheroes movies. Overall, the Sony SA-CS9 subwoofer gave me everything that I was looking for to compliment my small satellite speaker system. Therefore, I give this subwoofer two thumbs up for anyone who wants to greatly benefit their moderately priced 5.1 A/V system.

The sound quality is very good. The deep bass is really shaking.

Purchased this subwoofer because my surround sound was all hi end sound and needed some bass to get the full experience. This subwoofer did the trick gives great low end sound to balance the surround sound experience.
