Has pretty deep bass and it's not boomy. The best thing is it works good with movies and music. Let it break in for a few days and you will hear a big improvement.

I can't hear you over the sound of my awesome home theater! This sub is part of a 5.1.2 system that is in my home theater and it makes movie watching, especially action movies, so awesome. A must have.

Good Bang for the Buck

The subwoofer has separate controls in the back for gain and to adjust the bass frequency from 80hz to 125hz. Purchased it on Black Friday and it was well worth the money. Subwoofer also has a standby mode so you don’t have to shut the unit off every time you power down your system.

Only downside is the energy save mode kicks in too fast. If the movie or show has a minute or two of low action it clicks off, then clicks back on when sound kicks in. Lot of clicking! Otherwise good product

It’s inexpensive and not as big as others

Sony here tries to go inexpensive and smaller but as a result the bass output isn’t the greatest. You get what you pay for in this case. It’s substantially less expensive than other subwoofers and it does deliver some base, but not Earth-shattering performance by any means. Good for small rooms or a budget-minded shopper.

It really does add more to movies. Sounds great I'm very happy with it. I have a Samsung that came with a sound bar and this blows that out of the water. Great job Sony!
