Bass is a must need and after the discount I received on this sub I was very happy.

My only issue is when I opened the box and took the sub out the subwoofer cover was broken SONY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT!!!!

I have another Sony subwoofer on my current surround system that is larger and this performs just as well. Got a great price on it during a 4 hr sale.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.For the regular price of $200 you can get a decent klipsch subwoofer that is a lot better, for $250 you can get an even better klipsch subwoofer - so look to them before buying this subwoofer at the regular price - not on bestbuy however. But for the $100 I paid for this, there is no way you can match it. An absolute steal of a deal. I ended up buying 2! One for the living room and one for my gym. The sound can get muddy, it is certainly not a punchy subwoofer. But I find turning the bass level halfway up and the volume halfway up gives a decent amount of bass without sounding stupid and overpowering. These are paired with POLK S20 bookshelf speakers and an Onkyo receiver. A very inexpensive system than smashes the pants off any sound bar/all in one system you can get.

Enough Power to Shake my Walls

I was pleasantly surprised to hear how well it can reproduce the bass in my home theater system. It also has automatic power off, so it can help save energy when not in use.
