Great for small/medium rooms
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m using this subwoofer with a pair of Audio Engine bookshelf speakers and an Onkyo receiver in a medium sized bedroom. The sound is full, well balanced, and capable of more volume than I would ever need. It could easily service an average-sized living room or den. I primarily listen to music including vinyl and this is great for a low-budget hi-fi setup. One small issue is that that protective felt cover was damaged during shipping and can no longer attach correctly. Fortunately, I didn’t plan on using it.

Feel the Sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My speakers consist of Bose 930 speakers, Bose cube speakers, and Bose center speaker. I recently bought a new Sony 65" 4K TV and Sony 550 Receiver. Added to these, I bought this Sony subwoofer. I was amazed at how much the sound jumps out and grabs you with the addition of this subwoofer. I've had these Bose speakers for over 20 years and they never sounded as good as they do with this Sony subwoofer. If you don't have a subwoofer for your speakers then you're missing out. This is a great addition at a great price. Bring that movie theater sound to your home.

Great subwoofer for size and price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a good bit of research before purchasing this subwooofer. My intentions were to have a moderately priced one to add on to my home theater. This sub fills that need well. It's small but puts out a good sound and a good bass. Movies and music both have that pop they need. The size and design are both great, nothing too big and looks great as an addition to my current setup. One thing I couldn't find no matter the research I did; this comes with a RCA cable to connect and it's own power cable. If you're looking for a starter sub for a good price, easy setup, and good sound this is it!

Great, inexpensive subwoofer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to replace another Sony subwoofer that wore out and had severe distortion. That was only 8" and 50 watts. This new one sounds very good and is only slightly bigger than my old one. All the setting controls are in back. They include level and cutoff frequency dials, phase switch, power save switch and power button. There are terminals for speakers but I connected my receiver directly using the line-in jack. Everyone with a home theater system should have a subwoofer. It adds a lot of depth to the overall sound.

Good subwoofer, great price
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already had a set of JBL home theater speakers when I bought my latest TV and I needed a subwoofer. After reading reviews for budget-minded subs, I bought this one. Hook up was easy to my Onkyo receiver, everything worked on the first try. The low end is really excellent for either movies or music. A year and a half later, I'm still happy with this subwoofer

Bass is awesome
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this sub to pair it with my brand new Sony strdh590 reciever. I already had 5.1 speaker/sub set but unfortunately my subs were not able to utilize the sub jack due to them being powered by the reciever and not a power supply. So I had them bridged with my left and right front speakers, so all audio was about the same with some bass. Not the sound I was looking for. Could not even find The proper wires to assist me in my new venture for sound. So after researching Yamaha xenon and Sony I went with the Sony because it pushed the best wattage of the other competitors in the price range. And I must say this little box rocks. And paired with the Sony strdh590 4k reciever my enjoyment of my purchase had me excited to test everything on it. I have my ps4 pro connected to it with my gaming pc. Unfortunately my games on pS4 would only scale to 1990 resolution with hdr So I ended up plugging the ps4 back directly to me tv which is a Samsung q90t Because it gives me full 3840 resultion I need for cod warzone lol. My pc however is from cyberpower pc and is able to push max 4k at 4096 playing and watching movies on this bad boy is flawless looks like your there. And am able to enjoy all dolby audio and dts sound on in including dtsx and Dolby atmos in 5.1 or 7.1 audio all my devices were all purchased from best buy and now I'm looking into purchasing to more surround sound speakers to utilize 7.1 capabilities. All on all, I am very pleased with my new rig. I definitely recommend the reciever for awesome sound.

Clean Clear Sound
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 2 of these while they were on sale and used them to replace an old Jensen JP10 subwoofer which finally failed after many years of use. These speakers produce clean clear bass and now having a receiver with 2 sub outs and having 2 hooked into the system gives a fuller bass experience in the room. Nice sound quality especially for the price range.

For a budget subwoofer, no complaints
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, know what you are and are not getting for this price point. It is a 10" subwoofer with relatively low wattage, not a 12" subwoofer with high RMS wattage. That said, my 15-year old JBL subwoofer finally quit and I needed a new subwoofer without wanting to upgrade the whole system just yet. I was a little reluctant to get this based on the 10" woofer and low RMS, but decided it might be OK for the short-term. I have to say, I was impressed that it comes with a crossover feature to help fit in to your existing speakers and, frankly, the RMS is adequate for my listening, even in a larger room with 18-foot ceilings. I don't care about seat-rattling bass but do demand solid bass in the mix. In short, this subwoofer delivers bass at a reasonable level and, perhaps more importantly, within the correct sonic range with the included crossover adjustments. At its usual price point, I would recommend without hesitation.

Nice value subwoofer, good for home theater and mu
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice budget subwoofer. Works great for home theater and with an integrated 2.1 amplifier for music. I have mine connected to a switch box so that I can switch the inputs between my AVR and a stereo integrated amplifier. The bass is punchy and well-defined. It takes both RCA and speaker wire inputs. This is a very good value, especially when it goes on sale. I definitely recommend it for a small-to-medium room to give your home theater excitement or to give your music the kind of warmth that only a subwoofer can provide.

Good Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace an older sub-woofer of another brand. That older unit had never given satisfactory service. This new Sony sub-woofer works well. I very much like the fact that it has an automatic setting so it doesn't have to be manually powered on and off. It also has a simply one cord plug in to my receiver. This unit definitely allows base to come through and enhances movies, especially action movies with lots of loud noises and soundtracks.

Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never had a subwoofer with my surround nut always found the ones my family or friends have always added depth and richness that surrounds are not meant to add. I finally saved up for this Sony, added it to my very old receiver and I swear, it's very much like giving adrenaline to an old system. It sounds great, Jurassic Park steps feel like they're just outside the house. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Clean, Heavy Bass, Easy to hookup
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent subwoofer. I use it a large bedroom setting, the sub volume knob is turned 50%...it rocks the desk lol. I've listened to many subs, good ones and bad. The best part about this sub's bass? The clarity..The bass is clean and heavy at the same time. That's a perfect sub in my opinion, and I got it for 100 US. Also? Sony just don't miss.

Great
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounds great to me. I am not the kind that can tell the difference between a $100 or $500 speaker, so this sub was perfect. Black Friday deal made this even more appealing. BB has really great staff for the most part, and my rep gave me a piece of advise that I followed. He said to set the volume to 50% and the cut off frequency to the highest value (200 Hz). Works great!

Great Powerful addition to my movie room
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got really lucky with this subwoofer at one of the Best Buy locations on my area. It had been in the Open Box section because someone literally purchased it and opened the box but never removed the product from the box so I was able to scoop this at a cool $75. If you want to know power, this is the best BANG I’ve gotten for the BUCK and even at $150 its still a great buy, Sony never disappoints!

An Excellent Choice for Audiophiles
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For ten years I had a Boston Acoustic eight inch down firing subwoofer. It finally crapped out on me and I had to replace it. I originally was going to get a Polk sub, but after hearing the Sony on the store demo, my wife and I were quite impressed and we decided to get this one. We definitely made the right choice! One tip that I have is to turn off the power saving mode. It clicks on when the bass kicks in, and it's kind of awkward.
